You're a tourist, yes? Then you're at the right place. Close to all the tourist stuff but not TOO close. Cable car depot a short walk away (buy your tickets on the MUNI app and save a lot of $$$). Car rental next to the hotel. And the prices aren't too bad by San Francisco standards. Somehow/someway we managed to get one of the few rooms with an enclosed porch. For me this is essential when traveling with kids.

TL;DR this Courtyard has a decent location, safe, clean, and get the basic stuff done right. Just don’t expect a nice view from your window as you probably facing the building next door. My detailed reviews: 1) Location: it’s a bit sketchy as it’s in the corner of Tenderloin, but honestly it’s not that bad. I walked to a convenient store nearby at night and it was okay. Also there’s a Starbucks across, a number of bus stops including bus 38 that will take you to the center or to Land’s End easily. Overall it’s decent. 2) Lobby/Reception: when coming first time, you need to ring-in so the front desk will unlock the door for you. When entering the lobby, it reminded me of independent boutique hotel which is very cool. Reception is fast and efficient, associates are friendly and helpful. Not much elite benefits but that is expected, so it’s all good. You also need to tap-in your key to access the elevator. 3) Room: At 23-24sqm is cramp BUT it’s very well done I’d say. There’s not many in-room amenities, but I do appreciate enough storage to keep my stuff organized, decent lighting, comfy bed, the aircon works well, and the interrior looks nice for a Courtyard brand. It feels chic enough but not overwhelming. The bathroom is fully functional, although the shower pressure could’ve been stronger. I don’t have any view from my room, it’s facing to another building but I do have enough sunlight that coming through it. 4) Other aspects: There’s no onsite restaurant, Mel’s Kitchen that connected next door is operate independently so you can’t charge to your room to get Bonvoy points. I did try having dinner there, service is slow but understandable seems they only have 2 staffs that doing most of the things. Food is okay, but nothing special. Service in the hotel also decent, the hotel honor my daily housekeeping request, and the housekeepers did their wonderful job. Overall, it’s a decent stay for 3-nights. I’ll probably comeback if I have other chance to visit the area.

The location is superior. It is close to several scenic spots in the city center. Hotel facilities are similar to domestic high-end chain express hotels. The rooms are small but the facilities are relatively new. The hotel is clean and the parking is expensive. Public parking nearby is cheaper.
