Apartamentos Mar Blau

The apartments are clean, tidy and well equipped. Reception staff very friendly and helpful, well maintained gardens and beautiful views. I would however not recommend staying here if you have children, very much had an adults only feel to it. No atmosphere and plenty of looks and “tutting” dare anyone make a noise or splash in the pool. Such a shame as this is no reflection of the apartments or staff .

Well equipped, very clean and spacious apartment in a lovely setting with attractive gardens. Good supermarket at neighbouring hotel only a couple of minutes walk away. On site pool side restaurant has a good variety of good quality dishes at reasonable prices. Great views of the bay from the pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 12 nights in August and it was lovely. Upon arrival our room wasn't quite ready as we were early but we sat by the pool and the man at reception helpfully came to find us when we could have the keys. The rooms are clean and have what you need. The small kitchenette has fridge, kettle, oven, microwave with basic pots and pans and washing up liquid. The rooms are swept and beds made daily. Every apartment has two sun beds and table & chairs outside on the patio. Also a washing line to hang wet swim wear. The snack bar opens at 11 by the pool and does good food, lovely sunsets in the evening too. Pool table available - 2 euros to play one game. The pool itself is great for kids (we had a 3 year old and 6 year old), as it is on a slope so the younger ones can play and stand without it being too deep. Also a small separate baby pool. There isn't loads and loads of sun beds around the pool but we never had any trouble getting beds when we wanted them. You can borrow a parasol from reception to take to the beach which was great. There is also a book library in reception with so many books you can borrow - lots in both English and Dutch. Our apartment was lower down on reception level, no problem, but if we came again and had the choice would ask for a room on pool level as better views. We even came across a little tortoise outside our apartment at dusk, quite common apparently as near the wetlands. Quiet location, not at all noisy, very peaceful and chilled. 5 min walk to the supermarket, 15 mins walk to the centre of son bou and 20 mins to the beach. If you have a car, lots of parking immediately outside the apartments. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here again

Early flight and Mar Blau being only 30 mins fron the airport,I was relaxing on a sunbed in my own private garden way before check-in time.To be precise,it was around 12.30 which I was amazed.Great organisation as I noticed throughout my holiday many guests were also able to check-in early. The bungalows are fab,great space and modern.The maid service was outstanding,rubbish taken everyday and floors swept.A full clean every few days and this included a full wash down of the terrace.The terrace is a great additional space with a huge table and chairs along with sunbeds.Being a sun worshipper this was great if you fancied a quieter time rather than being by the pool.Saying that the pool area was very quiet during my visit,being the only one there up until around 11am(as i said i am a sun worshipper)and was by the pool around 9 most mornings and had it all to myself. The gardens are well kept,with the tallest palm trees I have ever seen!these adding to the beautiful scenery around the complex,a view of the sea with a backdrop of hills was a delight everyday and the sun going down behind the hills was a must see from the bar in the evening. The bar/restaurant is the best, run by Jemma and Xavi offering great service along with the freshest food.The menu is not your typical offering which was a nice surprise.A selection of local tapas and the best pizzas along with a special of the day all prepped and cooked on show behind the bar. 2 weeks was not enough and did not want to leave,thank you all at the Mar Blau for an amazing holiday. I just have one more thing to add "cockadoodledoo" ( if you have been here or Son Bou,you will understand)😄

Just back from a 2 week stay at these lovely apartments More like a little bungalow Lovely and spotlessly clean Nice grounds Added bonus of 2 sun beds on patio Lovely swimming pool area and good snack bar Wifi is excellent better than what I have at home Cleaners came in everyday and the reception staff were polite and helpful Small supermarket nearby which sells everything that is needed Really enjoyed my stay here would definitely return It’s like a little hidden gem in menorca

Pair of OAP’s thoroughly enjoying these self catering villas with the one we were staying essentially a one bedroom bungalow. The Villa has its private space equipped with a table and 2 chairs and 2 sunbeds. Although only a 3 star this is solely because there is no kids club entertainment or gym. Perfect for us oldies and essentially adults only though not in name. The pictures do not do the place justice as the grounds are beautifully maintained. The swimming pool also looks lovely with step in access. There are no facilities for children apart from a couple of seesaw type equipment. I would not recommend for families other than babies. The grounds are set in a residential area and apart from the on site snack bar there is another similar type place 5-10 minute walk away is about it. 10-15 minute walk away there is a bakery and chemist. Another 10 minutes further on is the centre where all the cafes and restaurants are and access to the beach. No tabacs shop open till June.. Nearest is Aliaor 20 minutes away by bus . Further on is Mahon known as Mao which is a nice place to visit. Bus stop just round the corner from hotel . Turn right leaving hotel and bus stop turn left on other side of road bus 32. The cafe beach and town left after leaving villa. The actual villa contains a bedroom adequate size with wardrobes containing safe 3 euros per day plus 5 euros deposit and the usual tourist tax of about 3 euros per night. All facilities you would expect in a self catering establishment.Fridge Oven and in the bathroom a powerful shower. None of this would you call modern but everything spotlessly clean. I would thoroughly recommend.

We holidayed with a large family group for a week in June. Place is very reasonable at £650pp incl flights bags and transfers. Located 15 mins easy walk from San Bon this place is really good. It’s a 3 stars but it’s really nice, very clean, friendly team, good facilities and great for family groups. The pool area is well maintained with beds, parasols and a clean pool. Nice bar with good snacks and well priced. Accommodation is on the basic side but very clean, self catering is great for snacks and lunch (well equipped too with Toaster, kettle etc). Each room has a terrace and beds outside. Ask for a room higher up the complex for a better sea view. Beds are comfy and room cleaned each day with fresh towels and bedding. Air con was really good as was shower. Quiet and no late night noise. There is a bakery and supermarket nearby. Reception is manned until around 8 for any assistance. Place is just 30 mins from airport. Some nice eating places in San Bon and an excellent Indian. Local beach is great (albeit nudist in parts!).

Staff was friendly and helpful. Clean apartment with nice sea view. Could provide a bottle of water on arrival , some shower gel and shampoo and washup liquid. Doesn't have nets on any window so flies and mosquitoes enter indoors so you have to keep windows closes always... wifi not working most of the times. Could do well with some new frying pans and other kitchen accessories that are worn and outdated. No hairdryer in the room unless you ask at the reception.
