Sandbar Beachfront Hostel & Restaurant

This place is an INCREDIBLE deal!!!!! AMAZING location right on the beach, super quick walk from the San Pedro Belize Express, tons of delicious restaurants, and the diving offices!! The AC is 24/7 and the bunks are cute. They have free water refill station, one of which has cold water available!! The only downside is the humid bathrooms, but there is a fan running and you can quickly get back to your nice, cool dorm! The pool is open 24/7 (just have to be quieter at a certain time to respect guests). I still am in shock that a place this cheap can be this incredible!!!

I recently spent a delightful 7 days at the Sand Bar Hostel in San Pedro, Belize, and it turned out to be a memorable experience filled with stunning sunrises, excellent service, and a great sense of community. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking sunrise from our room's sliding door. Waking up to the vibrant colors of the sky over the ocean was a daily treat that added a magical touch to our vacation. The hostel was well maintained, with a cleaning schedule that ensured our comfort every three days. The cleanliness of the place contributed to a pleasant and hygienic atmosphere throughout our stay. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, providing valuable information about the hotel's amenities and offering excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and eateries. Their local insights greatly enhanced our overall experience, making exploring the best of what San Pedro had to offer easier. Our room, though small, was cozy and perfect for two people. It met our needs, and the incident that occurred overnight, causing a temporary water shutdown, was swiftly resolved by morning. The staff's efficiency in handling the issue demonstrated their commitment to guest satisfaction. Speaking of the staff, their exceptional service went beyond problem-solving. Their friendliness and willingness to assist created a welcoming environment, making us feel at home!

The Sandbar is perfect! Affordable, clean, great atmosphere, and in the heart of the beachfront. Allen is the man!!! Everyone on staff was fun, personable, and helped with recommendations and local know how. I would recommend this hostel/ restaurant/ bar for all your needs. Great daily deals!

I wish I found the Sanbar sooner, I probably would have stayed here my whole 7 nights in Belize. It's on the sand, facing the beach, walking distance from the water taxi drop off. There's a kitchen for residents, the pool was beautiful at night, hammocks. It shares a pathway with the DriftInn that has the hot tub.

My first stay in a hostel. It was excellent. I will stay at the Sandbar again.

As a local I wouldn't recommend this place not a fan of writing reviews but the food isn't consistent . Each time the same food we order is different sometimes it's good others times it's terrible. Due to the lack of keeping the same good employees who make them a well known place and helps them gain customer's . The customer service to its locals is horrible , The front desk (a white woman who is overweighted) asked us to leave the pool side (sitting down not in the pool, we just came from the beach so we didn't want to sit at the front where people were dining) this isn't a fancy place either way ...., I don't know if she knew we were waiting for our order by the pool side . this is a hostel I don't think they cared if we were there sitting down, (enjoying a conversation quietly ) this was never a problem before till today ..... as some one who always orders from this place it caught me off guard and we felt unwelcome and we just left and made someone pick it up for us ... and will let others know about this..

Recently stayed in one of the private "Reef Shark" rooms. The room was very comfortable and clean. Bed was fine. Bathroom clean and functional. Best part was the balcony with chair and hammock! Loved spending time there and watching life out front. There is noise from the restaurant/bar. I feel like I am pretty sensitive and was not bothered at all. Music turned down by 11 PM, restaurant closed at 12. With my AC on it noise was minimal. And the AC worked great as did ceiling an. The room is small and would be tight for more than one person. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food and drinks excellent. My only criticism is that the chairs on the dock out front were mostly broken. Please get some comfortable loungers and add a bit more shade! The little pool was a great asset for cooling off mid-day.

Excellent space for a few nights. The restaurant bar/lounge is fantastic with very reasonable prices. Tip- bring earplugs for better sleeping. Two thumbs up 👍

It is right on the beach. They have a great restaurant with incredible food. The staff is helpful and friendly.
