Barceló Santiago - Adults Only

Extremely quiet area infact quite boring If you haven’t thrown your towel on a sunbed by 9am you won’t get one until after 5pm Food repetitive goat and bird salad not for us Restaurant is loud, manic absolutely no ambiance We went in every night and ended up eating out Definitely not a short walk to the beach, we never did find it !! Very expensive holiday almost 3k for one week half board. Then meals out on top of that. Hotel itself though is spotless and our room was very nice (deluxe sea view) Bed was very comfortable Check in a very long process Entertainment night time good we watched it from our balcony. Pity about the sun bed hogs, they were even putting their towels out one morning in the rain !! A lot of sun beds with towels on but no one in them. Plus side they have a separate smoking area so you are not breathing in second hand smoke. The area is extremely hilly and we are fit but after 4 days I was sick of climbing hills to go down them to climb another and so on. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues unless you are not going to leave the hotel. Was really looking forward to our holiday especially as the reviews are so good but we just didn’t find what others obviously did.
Grand Muthu Golf Plaza Hotel & Spa

Catalonia Punta del Rey has a warm atmosphere with a variety of entertainment options. The decor is a little tired, but everywhere is very clean. A cleaner and fresh towels every day. The staff are all lovely. There are plenty of food choices and the quality is good for a 3 star. There is a kid's club but I didn't see much for children to do. There are adults only areas if you wish to avoid them. The pictures here are accurate, i.e. not touched up by marketing. The hotel was at capacity but everything still ran like clockwork. No more than a 2 minute wait at the bar or for a table in the restaurant. If you are looking for nightlife this isn't the hotel for you. If you want a good value, relaxed, peaceful break, the Punta del Rey is ideal.
Hotel Tenerife Golf & Seaview
4/583 Reviews
Very convenient hotel as it is a few minutes by taxi from Tenerife South airport (about €15 by taxi), facing the sea, the view from the room is exceptional. The swimming pool, sheltered from any breeze with glass windows, is heated and you can swim (if you are not too cold) even in winter. The restaurant is a buffet with a good variety of choices, every evening we were offered a different type of dinner (Italian, Spanish, Canarian, etc...). Outside the hotel there is a beautiful promenade along the seafront, while it is surrounded by clubs and commercial activities (the commercial area is really small). The entertainment is limited to a few hours of live music, even for children it is almost nothing and there is no play area.
Precise Resort Tenerife

If you're a wheelchair user, please make sure to let the hotel know with plenty of notice. I use a wheelchair that doesn't fold and I couldn't get into my room without taking the wheels off as there's a wardrobe immediately as you enter the room. Fortunately, I am able to walk and only use my chair for longer distances.l, but for others, this could be a real issue. We stayed in that room for one night and they were happy enough to swap me into a different room in the morning. That first night was awful. There were concerning dips in the floor and the noise from being next to the ocean was so loud, plus the wind rattles the windows, it sounded like I was lost at sea. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a family room, no issues, though I hope for the sake of others that there are double rooms available that are more accessible, not just family rooms. The family room was luckily on the other side, so it was totally silent. The breakfasts were quite stale and the milk for the cereal was warm so stuck with the crepes every morning. We did have dinner here one evening but unfortunately, when I got to the dessert stand, there was a cockroach crawling on the food. They were very apologetic and gave both of us a glass of wine as an apology, but then still had to pay full price on the meals. Fortunately, we did bring an extension cord as there weren't many sockets and not all of them even worked. There were no ceiling lights, just plug in lamps, which made it quite dim at night. The pool is barely heated but it takes a few seconds for your body to acclimatise. The mattress is quite firm and I found the pillows were far too high. Also beware that the hotel is on a VERY steep hill. Luckily, I can actually walk quite well in hot weather but I was definitely out of breath when I got from the bottom of the hill to the hotel. The WiFi is awful and I ended up just using my data. The zoo is well worth visiting though and it's a very short distance away. As you come into the hotel, it's got a huge lovely lobby which was lovely to sit in, so it really surprised me how poor everything else was. I have no ill intentions and the staff were lovely but I have to be honest.
Hotel LIVVO La Quinta Roja

A very atmospheric hotel at the square in the center of a small, quiet town. The seventeenth-century building offers cosy rooms equiped with modern devices. Large, comfortable and clean beds. Spacious bathroom. The interiors are striking with the glitz from centuries ago. Direct access to a restaurant offering delicious and often innovative and surprising dishes. The lack of a lift is not compensated by the baggage service. For people with limited physical abilities, rooms on the ground floor would be better. Other than - great.
