I had another nice stay at this hotel on my way back from skiing in Taos in early March. I also had a nice stay before Christmas. In both cases, the rooms were quite nice. The bed was confortable, I had no mechanical problems, the WiFi worked well, and I had enough hot water. The room had a refrigerator that was useful. My room was quiet. It is quieter if you stay on the 3rd floor on the north side. Views are better in that direction too. You can park near the entrance closest to your room. You really don't want to take your luggage into the hotel when you check in. Figure out where you are first or you could end up dragging your luggage a really long way. The front desk was helpful, though I didn't demand much from them. Parking was not a problem. They do let you stay between the time you checkout and when you have to head for the airport. The cookies and drinks they have in the lobby in the afternoon are really good. Since I'm diabetic that's probably not the best thing for me. Breakfast is good at the hotel. The buffet is probably the best option. I've always had good omelets, fruit, and coffee. I miss the smoked salmon, but it had probably been a decade since they had it. If you don't want breakfast the lobby has good coffee and tea. I had a hamburger one night, mostly because I didn't want to wander to another restaurant. It was good but similar to other green chile burgers in the area. The plaza is 5 - 10 minutes walking distance, and the segment between the hotel and plaza can be a little dark at night. One thing that was odd was that the concierge lounge was not in operation. The doors were open, and you could go in there and work or watch TV, but all they had was bottled water in the refrigerator. If you are looking for these kinds of services during your stay, ask before booking this type of room. Prices are pretty similar to other hotels near the plaza. March prices were surprisingly low. I paid less to stay here than to stay in Taos during the week, and I was staying at a Hampton Inn in Taos. Finally, the AI review is unjustifiably harsh. Having seen one for the first time my advice is don't use it to make decisions until they improve the algorithm.
