Ambrose Hotel

I write this review with ambivalence, because I would like to keep this hidden gem to myself! However, this hotel and especially the hotel’s FANTASTIC staff deserve the highest of compliments. Everyone with whom I interacted was outstanding and clearly laser-focused on customer satisfaction. I travel extensively and have stayed at top hotels around the world. I am fanatical about customer service, and am quick to point out both good and bad. I cannot overstate how great the Ambrose staff is. They are always quick and happy to address my every request - big or small. My interactions with Brandon, Fern, Michelle and Teresa at the front desk always left me walking away smiling at their wonderful attitudes and again, laser-focus on customer satisfaction. The hotel has a beautiful Tesla with a great driver (Don) at its guests’ disposal. Don drove me several times and he was not only very safe, but made me feel completely comfortable and our conversation was a true pleasure. I know that there are many other members of the staff that I did not meet, but trust that they also share the front of the house’s professionalism and warm, friendly attention to detail. I don’t know who the owner or general manager are, but they must be great leaders who have built a team worthy of the highest commendation. I hope that this review will prompt them to commend their outstanding staff for jobs very well-done! This boutique independant hotel rivals or exceeds the great service at the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Shangri-La and other top hotels. I will be back in this area often and the Ambrose will always be my first choice. It is truly a hidden gem!

Cool and chic vibe to this hotel. The room is welcoming. Fern at the front desk was super pleasant and went above and beyond to make sure that I was well taken care of. Some rooms have a balcony. I understand that some others have a courtyard. Looking forward to exploring more about this hotel. The fitness area is open 24/7 and that is a plus.

Great botique hotel

The hotel is lovely to look at and the robes are super comfy but other than this I would not recommend it. There is an 'amenity charge' that is not optional. This charge allows you a free 2 hour happy hour and use of a car service. We tried to use the car service but there is seemingly only one car and, after a 45 minutes wait (during which we were told it was always 10-15 minutes away) we gave up and used uber. The wifi went out and the staff attitude was 'laid back' - we were told to call the wifi provider ourselves to trouble shoot the issue which wasted about 30 minutes and was an expensive phone call on my UK phone. One bonus was a room move in case the wifi worked elsewhere in the hotel. While it didn't fix the wifi, the room was much nicer and the air conditioning worked better in this room. Overall, this hotel isn't worth the money charged in my opinion.

Excellent in every way EXCEPT: using the TV was impossible. We spent an hour trying to figure out how to access the channel we wanted to watch. Gave up, finally! Please - can't things be less complex when it comes to simply wanting to watch TV???

No water for the whole stay

what a gem! We have lived in LA for 20+ years and stayed at this hotel because of a surgical procedure across the street. In Short, I would recommend this hotel highly. The location, the service, the ambience, the charm of a smaller hotel, amazing great job!

Water pressure was not good needs bath tub
