MGM Grand Sanya

We booked a family suite, which was very large and spacious. For an older hotel, the hardware was acceptable (though some things like the balcony light wouldn't turn off, the electric curtains didn't work, and some room light switches were faulty) 😂. However, the unbeatable sea view was incredibly therapeutic! For the best sea views in China, Yalong Bay is definitely the place, though it depends on the weather. In the afternoon, even phone photos of the sea look like a jelly ocean. You could sit on a lounge chair and zone out all afternoon. If you're with kids, there are daily activities available, some free and some paid, so you can check the schedule. (For sea fishing, if you get seasick, I'd seriously reconsider.) Personally, I felt the activities were more suitable for younger children; our fifth grader wasn't too interested. His favorite thing was playing in the water. After 4 PM, it's not too sunny, and you can play for a long time. However, the beach has become much coarser. When we came a few years ago, it was soft, but this year it really hurt our feet. The waves were quite strong during our stay, which made swimming in the sea exhilarating. We tried the hotel's popular bubble tea – it was good even with regular ice and no sugar! Though the price was indeed a bit high. It was decent overall. The photographer from Platinum Photography, a partner of the hotel, was incredibly patient and excellent. They took many beautiful photos, and you could even borrow their dresses. Although it's all post-processed uniformly, it still looked quite natural. From booking to shooting to selecting photos, everything was very smooth, with no excessive upselling, purely based on personal preference. (Photos are at the end) The WeChat butler, 'Yue Lai Yue Hao' (Getting Better and Better), was very responsive and provided incredibly thoughtful service! Definitely worth a good review!! Looking forward to visiting again.

This stay truly blew me away! I've been to Sanya many times and tried different hotels, but choosing the MGM this time gave me a completely different experience. Every staff member was incredibly friendly, and their service was prompt and excellent. The hotel has a lot of family-friendly activities, especially many adorable small animals you can interact with. The package included a 'Firefly' event, which was more geared towards younger children, but when the fireflies were released, the tiny sparkling lights in the dark were still quite fascinating even for adults. The pearl milk tea mentioned in other reviews was indeed very good. Even the fruit supermarket on the first floor of Building 1 was quite nice. This trip to Sanya was perfect, and I'll definitely choose Sanya MGM again if I get the chance!

Although Sanya MGM is an older hotel, my experience years ago was great. It's a large hotel with many different zones, and the rooms are spacious. This time, I did notice the hotel is showing its age a bit. However, there's a wide variety of activities in the resort, and the many cute pets are a big hit with kids. The lifeguards at the pool are responsible, and the room attendants provide excellent service. The workflow between departments is efficient and well-coordinated. The hotel also offers summer internships for university students, so some positions are filled by interns who might not be fully proficient yet, but I understand and support the company for providing these social practice opportunities for students. Overall, the stay was still very good and I would recommend it!

Initially, I stayed in a suite in Building 1, but I wasn't keen on the layout. I then switched to two standard rooms in Building 2, which I personally found to be better overall. However, there were empty toiletries in the room, which is something that needs attention! That said, the service throughout my stay was excellent, with hotel staff being very proactive in addressing issues. The seawater was clear and the sand was fine – I highly recommend this place!

I specifically chose this hotel for my Sanya vacation, and it did not disappoint. Right outside the door is a soft, fine sand beach. The resort grounds are lush with greenery and picturesque, and the multiple swimming pools are beautifully arranged, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The concierge service was attentive and thorough throughout my stay, with staff being gentle and patient. They were proactive in coordinating and following up on any issues. The dining options were plentiful and the food tasted excellent. Overall, my travel experience was fantastic.

MGM is a must-stay for me every time I visit Sanya. I always pick a few hotels, and the service here is impeccable. You get the high-end hotel experience for half the price. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there are plenty of activities. It's really great, and the bed is super comfortable. This trip, I really noticed what amazing value for money MGM offers. There's no comparison, honestly. This time, I stayed at MGM first, then The Sanya EDITION, and finally Le Méridien Sanya. The last one was by far the worst. At MGM, it feels like there's staff everywhere, and there's absolutely no noise. Le Méridien, on the other hand, was a nightmare – kids playing loudly upstairs, moldy smells in the room, and no staff visible in the guest areas. Seriously, if anyone recommends Le Méridien, just block them. You won't regret staying at MGM, trust me!

MGM's facilities are great; laundry dries within half a day, and there's no musty smell in the rooms. It really lives up to its reputation as a seasoned resort hotel – excellent! The hotel's beach is also fantastic, with crystal-clear 'jellyfish seas' visible. Right outside the hotel is the bustling Yalong Bay Commercial Street. On the first day, the mini-bar was fully stocked. The hotel service was excellent; seeing that we had a child, they specially arranged for a small lion plushie, which showed real thoughtfulness.

Came to Sanya with the kids and stayed at the MGM in Yalong Bay. The room was clean and tidy, and there were many pools, so the kids had a blast. The zip line was super thrilling, my child went on it several times! The animals in the petting zoo were adorable. The milk tea was delicious too! Plus, there's a shuttle bus to Haitang Bay. Overall, I'm very satisfied!

Although the facilities show their age, the service is absolutely NO.1! Especially the guest relations manager who contacted me in advance—she is by far the most responsible client manager in all of Sanya. Everything was perfectly arranged from start to finish. The room was clean, and the room service was excellent. Absolutely top-notch! The sea water is crystal clear, crystal clear, crystal clear – that's how important it is! I'll definitely be back next time!!!!!
