Always and forever the coolest place to stay in Seattle. Nice rooms with views of the sound, clean, comfortable rooms. Good coffee, and nice people. Thanks Ace Sea.

The room was extremely cold. There is only a old oil heater in the room and there is no way to control the temperature. My husband was wearing a winter coat inside the room.

We love every Ace we’ve ever been to. This one felt the most simple, but one of our favorites.

We recently undertook a month long trip across America staying at five ACE hotel properties and our stay at the Seattle ACE Hotel was our favourite, mainly for the great service and friendly staff but also because we fell for Seattle. After enduring the nightmare that is the ACE Hotel New York and the 'down town realness' of the Brooklyn ACE Hotel, the Seattle property was the balm we needed to recover. This is not the biggest nor most impressive ACE Hotel but the atmosphere you feel as you enter is one of calmness: it smelt lovely and there is a serene little garden/internet lounge. This hotel was the first ACE Hotel and the design has not changed. They went for a 'train carriage' vibe in the long narrow rooms. The bathrooms have a DIY vibe. We got a queen sized room and then got upgraded on our second night to a larger room. We had a view of the waterfront from our room. It seemed like there was always a stunning sunset going on, like Seattle was trying to dazzle us with natural beauty. There is a common room with basic breakfast provided. There is also a laundry which we used. The location was pretty good for sight seeing. It is walking distance to the Pike Markets and the ferry terminal. The immediate location had edgy art galleries, cool restaurants on 2nd Avenue and lots of dive bars. We wandered into a bunch of art gallery openings on a Friday night, which was a lot of fun. So, yes the best of Seattle. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely, just the best people we met in America. Tracey at the front desk really took time with us, we appreciated the care (and conversations & recommendations) Would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay - location was very walkable - about 15 min walk to the link train station which was convenient and close to all the sites. My room and shared bathroom area were quite clean. There was a bit of a musty smell when you first walk in the room but it wasn't too bad... Loved the shared kitchen downstairs! Nice touch. Staff were also very friendly and helpful! Would stay again. Staff and location 10/10. Kitsch factor for a boutique hotel 8/10. Execution for a hotel 5/10. Having stayed at other ACE hotels, this is better classified at an elevated hostel. Room and front door keys are actual keys, and front desk is not staffed in the evening. At 11:30pm, could not get into the front door bc the keys had been recut and mine did not work. Called the after hours line, got a recorded message. Called the second number listed, went to voicemail. Called again and spoke to very pleasant person who was going to come into town and help me, but lives 30-40 minutes away. Seattle, while better than it was 2 years ago, is still not safe downtown at night for a solo person. Considering this, I had to wait next to a hotel entrance, and convince another guest that I was staying there so I could get in when they did. Television received no signal so unusable. 1) hospitality business necessitates attention to detail, like checking that all keys work when locks are rekeyed, and the novelty factor of having actual brass key doesn’t do it for me, get a card system 2)a part time staffing of reception doesn’t work when you’re closest on site help is 30-40 minutes away 3)this is not a safe part of town at night, to put other guests in the position of having to let someone in the building is awful. There should be a remote ability to unlock the door. Ace hotel is a great brand, however this location misses the mark. This is a “mid”
