Dormyinn in Gangnam is a 5 star hotel for business travelers. It is not hotel for events or leisure, but it can be a hotel for a weekend-spa-cation. I've traveled to Seoul a dozen times or so for work and play. Many of these trips were long 2 week to 2 month trips. And I've stayed at upwards of 30 hotels in Seoul. I've gone back to Dormyinn in Yeoksam, Gangnam-gu I think six times. It it my favourite hotel in Seoul when I'm staying alone. I've stayed at a couple Dormyinns in Japan too. The chain is one of my favourite for business travel. I think it should be good for solo travelers and couples too as I see many other guests of these types too. The breakfast is a Japanese business style buffet with a Korean twist. The spa and sauna is quiet and private. The hotel has its own soaps and provides washcloths. There are smoking corners and ergonomic pillows. The front desk are multilingual and wear buttons showing the languages they speak. The hotel also serves late night ramen. The atmosphere is quiet and private just like the spa and the restaurant staff especially show excellent hospitality. There is no business facilities at this Dormyinn except for a public computer and printer. The laundry services are efficient and relative the Shilla cheap. What's most important is the consietency of all the services, even the food and rooms. The hotel is located a 4 minute walk from two metro stations right in the center of Gangnam. There is a food street less than one minute walk away and more within 5 minutes walk. There is a gallery one block away. There are upscale restaurants as well as very local restaurants around the corner. It's a quiet hotel in a very lively area.

It was a beautiful hotel with a cafe and bar. The room is spacious enough to sleep. The place was a little different from my range of activities, but it was convenient because it was within a short taxi ride. The station was also fairly close. I went to the bar, but it's a pity that I couldn't go out for a long time after it rained. They called me a taxi and the service was good. Amenity was not abundant, so it was better to bring your own.

The hostel is located at the right place. On arrival, I was asked how many toothbrushes I needed, and given towels according to what my answer was. Can't we get such necessities in the room?If we don't them, we will leave them. The fridge was empty with no water even, too bad. The counter is always empty with no immediate assistance. We called and asked for an iron and they do not have it. Self-service breakfast, not bad if you are not lazy or late for checkout.

The room is not very big. And you have to pay for a additional two thousand won to buy cream and toothbrushes. Open to check in a bit late.

It's nice because it feels like a home, as if it was taken from the inside. It looks like it's all new except for a few items that have water or stains. It would be a good idea to bring toiletries. I thought it was expensive because it was a dormitory, but the bunk bed on the second floor had a separate step stool and looked good (check to see if it's sturdy). I don't know because I didn't see it, but it was on the second floor and easy to climb up to.) The owner also came on time to check out, so there was no inconvenience or anything like that, he was friendly. The only thing that caught me was that there was no personal curtain. It was open.
