Matahacas Pool & Luxury

The apartments are in a nice building with a central patio in a very good position. You can walk in 10 minutes to the railway station and in 15-20 minutes to the Cathedral and the Alacazar. It is also very close to restaurants and shops. The negative side is that there will be a lot of noise, our apartment was right on the street so we could always hear cars and people. There is a bit humidity in the room and not a lot of sunlight especially if you have an apartment on the ground floor. The apartment was nice and clean but not luxurious. The Wi-Fi was not very good. There is a small pool on the terrace which is nice to enjoy in the hot days in Seville.

Booked this lodging during my visit to Sevilla. Great room, nicely decorated and clean. The terrace was a great addition to the building and location was perfect. Walkable distance to restaurants, bars and the city centre.

We stayed in apartment one on the ground floor. Sadly, it was not a great experience. As soon as we opened the apartment door, there was an instant smell of damp and there was evidence of mould on the bathroom wall. I instantly alerted the host to this and got an email back the following day to say they’d “inform their technician” - no help to me. The ground floor apartment’s windows face straight onto the narrow street outside. You could hear constant traffic & noise from cars and pedestrians throughout the night. The entry buzzer system is also very noisy and could hear it going all night too. Noise is general was just an issue, could even hear the upstairs apartment flushing their loo. And then the fire alarm (in the bedroom) constantly flashed a bright white light all night too. Fair to say our sleep wasn’t 5*. The overall aesthetic doesn’t live up to its online pictures. A bit of a catfish shall we say. The rooftop terrace is in need for a bit of TLC and a lick of paint. The pool didn’t look the cleanest, but wouldn’t have stepped foot in it anyway (March) and the sun beds were ripped and stained. We didn’t get the impression of luxury that was advertised.

These apartments do not live up to the "Luxury" in the name. It's an old bulding on a narrow and busy street. Our aparment on the ground was accessed through the central courtyard. It was quiet with a good sized living area/kitchen, a bedroom with access to a private coutyard and a showeroom. The apartmant was well equipped for two people. The pool area was small but very welcome. At some point in time they appear to have had a water problem which resulted in some walls having been taken back to the original stonework. This has left a lingering damp smell in the livingroom/kitchen. This was a good apartment in central Seville near restaurants and other sites and should the repair work be carried out to a proper standard the overall rating would be higher.

The rooms are very noisy and the sheets were smelling humidity. We could not sleep later than 7.30 am because or the noise inside and outside the hotel. First, most of the rooms have a view to the streets. Our first room was at the groundfloor (there was absolutely no mention of this in the announce when we booked) so everyone walking in the streest could directly see in the room, we could hear any conversation from the people outside, we could also hear the cars passing in the street all day from 7.30 am to 11 pm. In addition to that we heard the people in the building coming in and out and doors opening and closing all day and night. We then asked for a room upstairs at first floor, this second room was not less noisy, we still heard everything, the guy from the building told us to put the shadow curtains down to cut the loise but they were broken... We even heard our neighbours in bed talking in the room aside when we were in bed as well... Cherry on the cake : there were works in the streets starting each morning at 7.30 am... In addition the first room is very badly ventilated, there are humidity marks on the wall and it smells bad, the sheets were smelling so badly we asked to change them and we slept with towels the first night instead. Do not come there even if the pool is nice or at least make sur not to have a room the side of the streets and bring earplugs if you want to sleep.
