We just checked in and this hotel experience was incredibly disappointing. The online pictures were misleading, showcasing a completely different reality. The rooms were tiny, old, and poorly maintained, with a view of neighboring laundry rather than the promised scenery. The furniture resembled rejects from IKEA’s damaged goods section, and the lack of electrical outlets near the bed was extremely inconvenient, necessitating a trip downstairs for an extension cord (which has been determined to be not electrically rated correctly, as it is causing overheating). Furthermore, the staff appeared indifferent and uninterested in addressing our concerns. Our experience at their bar was equally disappointing. When I requested a specific gin for my martini, the bartender refused to accommodate my request, insisting on adhering strictly to the menu. Despite the availability of 10 different gins, she insisted that only Beefeater was suitable as it is what is listed in the bar manual, which she showed me and said she would not deviate from. Even offering to pay a premium made no difference; she remained unwilling to accommodate my preference. Can’t wait for what our second night will bring. Also looking forward to the generic response from management that they leave… thanking me for my stay, apologizing for not living up to my expectations, and hoping to welcome me back again.
