Hotels Near Big Apple in Shanghai

The hotel is on Chuansha Ancient Street (a very quiet street that retains the characteristics of the ancient town). The price-performance ratio is very good and the service is warm. We got off the plane at 6 o'clock in the morning and arrived at the hotel around 10 o'clock. The waiter opened the room for us in advance (normally we should check in at 2 o'clock in the afternoon). We booked a tatami room, which can accommodate extra people. The bathroom in the room is very large and spacious, very clean, and has incense. Quiet and relaxing, suitable for rest after a long journey. We took a hot spring bath and took a nap, and strolled around the ancient town in the afternoon. The next day, the child went to Pudong Airport by himself, and the hotel was very responsible to arrange a pick-up. The breakfast was simple but very exquisite, delicious and sufficient. There is also a breakfast shop opposite the hotel. Clothes can also be washed and dried. I am very grateful to the staff here. We booked two more days later. I will come back in the future and recommend it.

Facilities: Two rooms, each with a 1.8-meter bed. Enough for four people to sleep. Quiet and clean. There are also two toilets and shower rooms, which are convenient for taking a shower. There is also a private bath in the room. The room and living room are large, and the yard is also large. Hygiene: Very clean. Environment: Quiet. Service: The butler service is very good. Available on call. Drinking water is also sufficient, which is very good.

Kinda outskirt hotel and it’s very difficult to commute to city area. It’s nearby airport and Disneyland The staff are friendly and helpful, they willing to borrow their phone number for Mei Tuan if you don’t have China phone number They provide shuttle bus to Disneyland and Airport too

This was one of the nicest hotels of my entire trip! Clean, modern, and amazing room and building. Some of my fav parts of the stay was the spacious room + huge yet cozy bed, brunch buffet (that lasts until noon!), midnight wonton snack, open workspace with river view, free DIY laundry, super friendly staff, and location right next to the ancient town! Highly recommend staying here for a more interesting place to stay the night before a flight out from Pudong Airport!

My wife and I passed the night here and left for Hefei City the following day after her long flight from Africa. Close to the Chuansha Metro Station on Line 2 from Pudong Airport (5 stops away). However, there is no where the english version of the hotel name (written on the english version of the check-in voucher) was written on the building of the hotel. As the Taxi driver dropped us off and left, what I saw was ”Home Inn Hotel”. I had thought we were at the wrong place. This threw me off balance for some moments, and my wife was almost crying as I broke the news to her as it was cold and raining. As there are more than one hotel in the building, it is recommended that the English name of the hotel be written outside the building like Home Inn Hotel did for easier accessibility especially for foreigners. Only the chinese characters (hanzi) of the hotel name were written outside. There are many restaurants (local restaurants and foreign like McDonalds) around it where one could eat. The receptionist was warm and friendly. We were given a little gift on checking out. Hotel was generally clean but it could be improved upon. There was hot water and the AC worked well. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an affordable, budget hotel with good service in a location not far from Pudong Airport.

This hotel was amazing! It has a beautiful interior! It's next to many restaurants and grocery shopping places! Most amazingly, the price was incredibly low for a five-star hotel and it came with free breakfast, which is almost never the case for a 4- or 5-star hotel. On top of this incredible service, the hotel provides a free six-person car ride to the PVG airport! Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay close to the airport.

Summarize in short : they should keep this place only for Chinese speaker, not recommend for traveller with other languages. Base from my true experiences, I booked here the night before traveling to Shanghai. Once I check out from hotel in Guangzhou, front desk lady help me called reception at Shanghai Novotel Hotel Chuansha to ask if they can pick me and my partner at Pudong Airport as they advertised for a complimentary shuttle bus. The lady at Novotel cannot speak English so I passed to the front desk lady in Guangzhou and got to know that I have to book a shuttle bus a day ahead. I accepted this because I read info, just have hope if they could help customer with this, anyway I flew to Shanghai and went hotel by myself. On the way to Shanghai, I still have hope that receptionist at NOVOTEL will be able to speak English. When I arrived there, I met 3 receptionists and NONE OF THEM CAN SPEAK ENGLISH. We had a tough time to communicate. I have my own language and English, also broken Chinese but we still not understand each other. I had to call a friend of mine in Taiwan to speak Chinese to them. Again, I wanted to book a shuttle bus to Disney land for the next day and they ask me to have a Wechat app to see a detail and communicate. Since I do not have China mainland mobile number so I cannot make a Wechat work on my phone. My ********* friend still help me out with this. At that time, another lady came, seem like she work for shuttle bus thing. I do understand that Chinese tone of voice always loud but I cannot see mercy on her face. She consisted that we still need a Wechat. One lady there said, I have to take a taxi without Wechat even though the hotel provided us a free shuttle bus to Disneyland. At this point I a little upset as there is no choice that they can call or set me a time for my travel, _ucking asked me to take a taxi. I do not mind to pay for taxi but we have never been here so we worry about other unexpected factor could happen. Further more, I went there on my girlfriend birthday to celebrate her birthday. I decided to take it here a last minute and I asked if they could have a card written Happy Birthday to her. Only I know is ”NO CARD, NO CARD!!!! bad service mind ever, disappointed and felt give up with Novotel Yes, I picked NOVOTEL because I really hope they provided international services. I was a member of ACCOR PLUS and experienced such good services but since I experienced here, I am a failure. I actually have 2 more nights in Shanghai after 2nights here. I was thinking to move out all the time because me and my partner felt suffocate with a service. I do not talk to them anymore as it is useless T___T I even tried with my broken Chinese but I cannot feel that they put an effort to serve their guesses. No bellboy, air-conditioning at public area is pretty warm. To be honest, the place is good, bed is comfy and we tired from playing things in Disney land park so I extended to book for one more night then I do not need to rush for checking out. I went reception floor, this time a girl with glasses, seem kind and she is fluent in English help me check in for my last night here :) Whole time staying here I kept my mouse shut because don't want to feel unpleasant anymore and I feel like the robot that delivery food downstairs is working better than human lol. Eventually, I did tried until I can log into Wechat to found that the text were written in Chinese only. I still can travel with a hotel shuttle bus even I do not read thing on Wechat (我看不懂) 😔 I definitely won't be back here even things are good. Hotel is providing everything we needed which is good but they should hire people who able to speak English or people who able to use translate on google and else to communicate as they open for the whole world guess. Not only Chinese on earth but also another language exists. Last thing, key of hospitality is ”SERVICE MIND”

The room is very big and the bed is very comfortable. We have two adults and two children. The child is grown up, and we have found many double beds that can't meet the needs of adults. Only this hotel can meet the needs and is clean. The key is that you can also wash clothes. We stayed for two nights, but it was not enough, so we extended it for two more nights and changed to a better room. There are many kinds of breakfast, and the price is very suitable. The service staff is very friendly. The shuttle bus is very convenient. There are also milk tea shops, cinemas, KFC, food stalls, barbecue noodles, convenience stores around. It feels great! We went to Disney, the city center, and the Bund. It was very convenient to take a taxi. When we go to Shanghai again, we will stay at this hotel!

The main advantage of the hotel's location is that it is close to Disneyland, about 10 minutes by car, and the subway station is also within 10 minutes by car. The hotel also provides free shuttle service, but the earliest bus in the morning is 7:30, and the early bird card is still too late. The environment is a traditional homestay layout, with an open-air rest area and cats and other small animals. The room is not big, the facilities are average, and some facilities are old. In terms of cost performance, it is not high. The advantage is that it is close to Disneyland. It is recommended that the hotel make the sign at the intersection bigger. It is indeed not easy to find.

The shuttle bus driver is very nice, he even waited and get out the bus walk to gate 29 to look for people who called him earlier and may have lost in the airport. After arrival, go to 3rd floor gate 29 where all hotel shuttle busses are there picking up people. It is 40 degrees outside so we did not get out and just ordered KFC and had it deliver to hotel. The staff shall use AI robot to deliver to my room however the front desk called me to pick up my order around 9 pm. The next morning I woke up around 8 am and found no bottle water left so I called front staff to deliver bottle water to the room, she said ok someone will send soon, however I waited over 10 mins still no so I just walked to the breakfast area to drink there. I like the fresh chicken soup rice noodle. There is no mini fridge in the room so cannot drink cold water. Bed is comfortable, room is clean. If you need to catch up flight this is good choice.
