Very near the main road, and few minutes' walk to the old town, shops and eateries. Very convenient. Room was cozy, clean and with good heating. Very friendly staff.

Two male owners very sweet and laid back. Perfect adjoining room for family of 4, with the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in since I can remember. Heated walls and beds, beautiful old and not ostentatious place with easy access to all of beautiful old town.

The place is located at the border of the ancient city. Therefore it’s easy to reach all places by feet or taxi and plenty of restaurants are around. Even by minus degrees you will not feel cold in the rooms and the shower water is close to steam… - breakfast was included and is a simplified Chinese breakfast. Coffee is basically not available. Cleaning could be better especially in bathroom. The place is led by young couples and they are helpful for any organization needed, even though just with translation. Overall it’s a good option in Shangri-La for which you should not plan more than one day & night visit.

The owner was nice and kind, but the room wasn’t cleaned and really cold! The dog was barking the whole night. So sorry to say, but I can’t recommend that hotel.

We had an awesome stay at Tree Space! The owner is lovely and goes above and beyond to help out. He helped us get covid tests and also sorted us out a ride to Kunming airport at 3am due to delayed flights. His team are also great and serve up a filling breakfast in the morning. The rooms are extremely comfortable with everything you need including oxygen. 100% would stay here again!

Nice little hotel. Owner very helpful. Offered New Year dinner to all guest. Won’t mind staying there again.

Very nice place, the rooms are very cosy with underfloor heating and electric blankets! -- The owners are extremely helpful. Only problem was we came in January and the hot water was only available in the morning

Hotel run by men only We stayed at Tree Space for three nights. When we arrived, our first impression of the room was good. Nevertheless, during the next couple of days we experienced no service at all. We were very surprised when we came back to the hotel the second day, and our room wasn’t made (no new towels and shampoo/shower gel, the bed wasn’t made, the toilet was still dirty). The only thing indicating that someone has been in the room, was the full trash bag next to the trash bin. They forgot the bag in our room. When we went down to complain, they told us they wouldn’t make the rooms, because they respect the guest’s privacy. If they go inside to get the trash, they could also leave new towels and clean the toilet. It seemed to us, that they were just too lazy to do it themselves. But if you pay roundabout 40 € per night, you would expect a decent room service. So this was very disappointing. The western breakfast was awful. We went out to have breakfast in the old town every day.

Beautiful guesthouse. Comfy beds, nice shower and perfect location. Breakfast has a decent mix of chinese and western options. Staff ready to help with anything you need (including extra bed for our child, taxi to next destination for a decent price) and happy to work with translation app. We would definitely recommend!

The service was great. When I arrived they gave me a free upgrade. They were also able to assist me with my travel arrangements between Shangri-La and Lijiang. Would recommend 100%.

The hotel experience from Tree Space was great from start to finish. The place was easy to find, right off the town road and it’s just a few moments walk on the same street as the hotel and you are right in the heart of the old town. Everything you might need is right around the hotel and the small BBQ place across is great! The things that really stands out is the service of the staff. From the moment our car pulled up to the second we departed, we were very well looked after. On the first night my partner also felt a little unwell and the staff came up to our room, checked our oxygen unit was working, and gave her some local medicine which really helped out. This was late into the night and is just one of many ways the staff here go above and beyond the make your stay in Shangri La comfortable. On our final night we had an early pick up but breakfast was arranged for us to take with us. Also great! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and everything has a crisp feel about it. Chic and modern but remaining within local culture, great hotel experience. Thanks for the great stay!
