The Plume of Feathers

I found this hotel very overpriced. £130 for the evening. The room was cold and unwelcoming, had to call the reception to ask to put the heating on in the room. The cafetière had not been cleaned and was had the previous guests coffee still in there I had to wash out before use. Room was tired and bathroom a little grubby. Staff were excellent in the pub, but for the price of the room- it was not worth the cost at all. Disappointing stay and I would not return.

We were in Sherborne and looked for somewhere for an evening meal that would take dogs too. Booked the Plume online. As we were leaving, we received a phone call from the pub, just checking that we were aware that because it was Valentines there was a special set taster menu at £45 per head. Gulped - but thought- let’s go for it! So glad we did. It was fantastic!!! My husband thought the Negroni had gone to my head because I stated (more than once) that it was possibly the nicest food I’d ever tasted!!!! Honestly- a superb meal! Utterly worth the price! Well done to the chef!!! And fabulous service too!

Lovely stay at the Plume of feathers. Lovely quaint loft room overlooking the coutyard. Very friendly, clean and a great breakfast included. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous pub, with wonderful service and the best atmosphere I have ever experienced. The staff were incredible and the room was lovely and warm. Thr Hayloft is a lovely space , be aware it is a double bed and a sofa bed. Whilst the double bed was sumptuous, the sofa bed was lumpy and not too comfortable.

Dusty to where we had to leave window open all night & sent them a email & still not got back to us plus the breakfast was more like a kids so for the price for 1 night or £170 not happy

A perfect place to land after a long journey. Perfect staff, great patio gardens, restful and entertaining all at once. Don’t miss Nick’s trivia evenings.

Great hotel and room. Food even better. Italian small plates dinner was superb as was breakfast. Service was faultless. We will go again. Would have given it 5 stars apart from problem with shower where I think the valve got stuck. These things happen. We stayed in the Haycroft so watch the step in the room!

Amazing food and service

What a superb lovely B&B. Was very impressed from start to finish with my mini break at the Plume. Room was fabulous and well decorated All furnishings were very comfortable. Room was clean and the bathroom was out of this world. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a couple of nights away in Dorchester. Not forgetting the staff and management who made the stay all the much better. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was to die for too. 10/10 Definitely stay again. Ps room rates were fantastic too.
