It is a very nice small hotel with a personal feel to it. Great staff and in a good location for walking and peace and quiet. The food was very good indeed and a good selection of drinks too. Would definitely return.

The only issue was bright lights In the garden all night shining through the curtains. Made it difficult for light sleepers.

The food and service were second to none. Fresh cut and made sandwiches, freshly baked scones and beautifully crafted home cakes and desserts. Creme brulé was light and creamy with a crunch to the top that cracked with a tap of a spoon. Pastry was crisp and light. Victoria sponge was delicious. Carrot cake and chocolate ganache bomb were rich and flavoursome. The room with oak panels and views into the garden made a perfect setting. The staff could not have been more welcoming, polite and attentive. I would highly recommend a visit.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a smiling receptionist. That set the tone. Friendly staff ensured we were happy throughout our stay. Our spotless room was very comfortable, beautiful soft towels and great views from the windows over the immaculate large gardens (almost a park in themselves) Great food with an inspiring menu, sensibly priced and well thought out choices. The Dales Country House Hotel is an example to others but is a hard act to follow.

Our second stay at this beautiful hotel, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Lovely, friendly, attentive staff. The room (Heron) was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. The highlight was the food! Complements to the chef doesn't cut it. Every single dish was magnificent. I can't wait for my next stay.

We had booked for Sunday lunch for a small group, explaining that we would have 2 (well behaved) dogs with us after a long walk. We could not have been treated more kindly or welcoming. They had set up a table for us in a side room. It was a delightful surprise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our dinners were delicious. The only negative comment was that the banana in the banana in the Banoffee Sundae was not fresh and was crystallised! A tiny, tiny blip in an otherwise cracking visit to The Dales. We will be taking our guests there in the future!

Just a simple “getaway” weekend for us is not always that simple. Access to rooms is often an issue even in modern hotels. So to find a country house style hotel that meets our access needs was amazing. This place is too good to be true, the staff are brilliant, the food excellent and the setting is wonderful. However I would ask you to ignore this glowing review and not go!!! Nothing to see here!😀 thanks to the staff for making our stay exceptional.

If you are planning a trip to Norfolk do try the Dales Country House Hotel. Once you have stayed at this hotel you will not want to look elsewhere. The food is excellent, breakfast cooked fresh and plenty of other cold choices. Staff are always friendly and obliging and overseen by a strong and meticulous management team.
