Hotels near Shimamoto History and Culture Museum in Shimamoto

The location of the hotel is excellent because it take 5-10 minites from hotel to Kyoto station. It was very convenient for me if I am traveling to all the scenery nearby Kyoto. Food and beverages is available surrounding the hotel, you can just have a light breakfast and then start to travel to your destination of choices.

It was unmanned check-in and was satisfied except that I didn't know the password at the time of entry. I forgot the key of the bicycle on the round line, but I was able to leave it in the entrance and was saved. It was a night stay, but the station and convenience store are close, and the room and shower room are clean. I also want to repeat if I have a chance.

Staff Are very attentive and quick, they are able to assist you in English too if you can't communicate in Japanese. Transport is easy as it is located about 10-15 minutes away from Kyoto Station which has Shinkansen/JR trains/bus available. Given a cozy room with various options of daily cleaning (none/basic/partial/full) main difference being if you want the bathtub to be washed / bed to be made, so you can hang it by your door to notify the crew accordingly.

This is a no-frills, modern hotel (7-Eleven is next door). Our Twin Room was big and comfortable with a good-sized bathroom; a nice touch to have a fabric freshener spray near the coat hooks. It’s a walking distance to Omiya station along the Hankyu Line which includes Umeda (great for those coming from Osaka); close to downtown (Kawaramachi) where you can either walk or take the subway to attractions such as Nishiki Market (Shijo) and Gion (Gion-shijo).

I and my mother stayed there for one night 20000 yen per person, with dinner and breakfast. It was a very comfortable stay. This was more like a hotel, except that we needed to walk around without your own shoes (without getting dirty feet) inside. It was fully booked on that day. We had an earlier check-in, which mean that we could enjoy our relaxing private Onsen bath without standing in line. We also tried the large onsen baths later in the evening after a long walk in the beautiful Arashiyama area nearby. It was hot, but great. One of the baths was outside in a Japanese garden. We got warmed up from the inside out, and had an ice popsicle before we went up to our room for good nights rest. We also enjoyed a huge dinner and breakfast, true local cuisine with typical taste in Kyoto that supposed to be refined and ”delicate” - you shouldn´t expect any strong taste, and correctly cooked. This supposed to be a 3-star-hotel, but the amenity was completed. We didn´t miss anything here. We thought the staff at the front desk were not amazing, but definitely not poor. We didn´t need to deal with them so much as we had good information in written form. Everything was clean and pleasant. Had absolutely nothing to complain. We would definitely love to come back again. My rating is 4 - not more or less. I certainly see that they still have a room for improvement, but overall I didn´t personally understand all the poor reviews.

The location is superb ! But we had a hard time finding the entrance . there should be more info about the direction . we arrived at 1am and there wasn’t anyone to ask for directions . the room is really tiny and would only be good for a short stay. it is a convenient place as it is on top of the station . i’ve posted the exit of the hotel - kintetsu hachijo guchi

Stay at Ala Hotel Kyoto was really good! Booked this hotel because of the Onsen facilities. Enjoyed a good onsen treatment after a long day of walking. Location is super close to Kyoto station, and stay in generally is good. The reception service people are also super friendly and able to converse in English :)

I'm glad. ① Please leave your luggage before check-in and carry my luggage to my room in advance. ② The hotel and the room were clean. ③ It was a plan with breakfast, but it was usually delicious. I'm sorry. ① It was hard to understand because the route from JR Senri Chuo Station was the first time. It was good to have a post in front of the station. ② There was a distance from the station than I thought. ③ Amenities were chosen in front of the front desk, but there was no cotton swab. ④ The shower in the room was old-fashioned, and it was troublesome to adjust the hot water and cold water well enough to make it suitable for temperature, but it was troublesome to adjust it again every time I stopped. ⑤ The nearest hotel at Expo Park Station with Panasta is only here, but it was said that it would take more than an hour to get to the station because it was crowded after the live. I didn't know the location of the bus stop, and I didn't know the taxi stand, and I TELed to the hotel, but it was a correspondence that was not similar. I didn't know well because I started from Tokyo, so I thought I couldn't arrange a taxi or pick-up.

Quite satisfied and great location for the price! Location is great and almost walkable to major parts of central Kyoto. For example Nishiki Market 1 minute (but overpriced), Karasuma and shopping streets 1 minute, Hankyu train line for going Osaka or other places just 6 minute, Big local shopping malls like Fresco and LIFE or Takashimaya store just 10 minute. Moreover it is within walking distance to Gion area and Panchoto alley and river. Although the room is small, is convenient and bed was quite tall that myself as Big Caucasian 180+cm had no issue in size of bed. Shower and toilet also very clean and have all amenities included. Also the lobby is good to mingle or eat food as there is microwave available. The luggage can be kept free-of-charge after checkout if have Suica. Breakfast is a bit simple and at Datour. not bad, but maybe can take without breakfast for more flexibility.
