This used to be our favorite summer spot. We'd return at least once a year, for perhaps 4-5 years in a row. However, we hadn't been back for quite a long time. This is what I learned on our most recent visit: The hotel room (I think we had a ”Hollywood Standard Twin) was quite spacious. The beds were large and comfortable, and there is a nice-sized balcony with a generous ocean view. I see some other reviews on Tripadvisor calling the rooms ”old and smelly” -- this has never, ever been my experience, not once. The room seemed exactly as it was over 10 years ago, but that's fine. The colors are soft, muted ”beach” colors and we were very comfortable. On our first night we ate at the ”Melesea” restaurant, which serves French cuisine. We chose the ”Demi portion” course, which was about 9,000 yen (about $62USD with today's exchange rate). We chose it because it wasn't as high priced as some of the other course meals and the portion sizes sounded right for us. There is no question that the ”Demi portion” course was one of the best I've ever had in my life. The chef (Mr. Ohki) is obviously a professional who really understands how to bring out the delicate flavors of any dish, and he is a master at preparing sauces. Everything that was served was outstanding. No, we didn't want to pay that much money per person, but ultimately we made the right choice. We both were extremely impressed. The above two things, plus generally good weather, added up to a good experience. Here, though, are things that you should be aware of: This is essentially a family hotel. That means if you are coming here for peace and quiet, and you make the mistake of coming on a weekend or a national holiday, you can expect lots of screaming children running with abandon down the hallways and fussing in the restaurants and everywhere else. Japanese parents tend to indulge and spoil their little ones. And forget about using the pool, since that's where parents will be staked out the first thing in the morning. If you are a parent, you might find this to be the perfect hotel. If you aren't, and you do not enjoy the boundless energy and noise of children, you will be sorry you booked a room here. So, think carefully about the dates you arrive and leave. As for prices: Although you can get a ”Tokyu Hotel” member card, and although you can find online promotions, the way the hotel makes its money is through its dinners. You are going to pay a lot for them, although there is effort put into them, so, you do feel you are having an ”experience.” But they do not come cheaply. Also, if you don't book your room with breakfast, expect to pay ¥2900 for a ”buffet breakfast.” If you are Japanese, you will love this breakfast; if not, you will find an adequate selection of items for a Western breakfast. But what if you want to go ”out to eat” at night, instead of paying between 10-20,000 yen for a meal? Good luck. Unless you have your own car (and I'd say about 90% of the customers

I went on a 4 consecutive holiday in autumn. Because it is ITO en hotel, the outside is quite old, but the interior is cleanly renovated and kept clean. The meal is ok, but it is originally quite reasonable for the price, and it feels like the content of the price. Especially because it is ITO, there is no good seafood. I think it is satisfactory for my family, but it is not the content that I expect to taste. However, considering the cost and content, the sea (Shimoda port) is close and convenient and the environment is good, so I think it is a recommended inn if it is important for Cospa.

The property has amazing ocean views high on an outcropping, but none of the rooms with an ocean view have a balcony, except the very edge of the east wing. Wonderful gardens with a path lading down to a small beach that isn't too noteworthy. The rooms have been updated since the construction and are pretty good overall. The pool was closed in June, which was pretty disappointing, especially as the beach is below par. The onsen facilities met expectation. The beds are firm, which I loved, but not everyone likes a firm mattress. The hotel operates a bus service to pick up guests from the train station twice an hour from 9-5pm. If you are doing dinner out in the town or drinks in the evening, you have to grab a taxi back as the walk is a bit of a hike. The hotel staff are very friendly and kind, the concierge knows the area and has great recommendation for activities...wonderful and friendly people. The hotel restaurant serves a nice mostly Japanese breakfast (as expected) with local delicacies, wide range of teas, coffee and juice as well as a great selection of breads and fresh fruit. The hotel restaurant for dinner is average. Our group ordered a range of items off the menu and no one was terribly impressed. The lone stand out was the French Onion soup, packed with flavor, though a bit light on the cheese. Would stay here again if the price was right, was able to get rooms at a discount on this stay as it was rainy season.

A lot of staff were working and it was a cheerful trip from everyone. There was a sense of industry and it made me want to visit again. It was a time when I could feel the nostalgia I felt because of this era, the atmosphere of the hot spring town, and the feeling that I came to travel. Thank you very much. The breakfast and hot springs were good and the employee 々 was very good. It is absolutely better to go hungry because the amount was considerable. Good point. The meal is delicious volume. Wi-fi is comfortable in the room. Good quality of hot springs. Good open-air bath. Good for children, remembering the name. I had a lot of Pokemon go rare. The employees are not very replaced with the old days, there is a smoking place where the meal is completely smoked, and the children's goods are full. The ocean view is beautiful. I want you to improve the cheek. I smelled like cigarettes, so I smelled like cigarettes every floor. I want you to smoke. If you stay overnight, you will change the menu, but the second day meal was downgraded and there was no boiled fish. The floor of the restaurant is not connected to Wi-Fi and the radio wave is bad. The room tatami mats and corridors reduced 1 ☆ Because it smelled like cigarettes. There is only a western room with a complete non-smoking, and most of the ordinary Japanese rooms are smoked in the next room or the person who smokes in the previous stay. The tatami mats in the room smelled like cigarettes and hurt my throat, and the corridor was very smelly every time I went to the meal and the hot spring, so I want the Japanese room to clearly divide the non-smoking floor and the smoking floor. I had a lot of people waiting for the elevator to say that it smelled like cigarettes. If you can't do it all on the floor, you can't smoke right half and smoke left half and smoke (because you can't stay if you are a child or an elderly person, you can't stay in a Japanese room...) If the room is properly smoked, it was ☆ 5 without stress.

The staff was very nice from arrival to guidance. Stay for 1 night and 2 days at the 5F hot spring free-flowing open-air bath with a superb view Japanese modern ”Iki”. It has been renovated and the interior is perfect. The dinner was delicious, and the timing of serving the food was good and the explanation was polite. The baths are sufficient for both the room, the large public bath with a view, and the separate bath. As expected, I thought it was an inn that cost over 60,000 yen for two people... When I went to bed, there was a huge garbage near the outlet near the bedside! (When I was young, that black guy flew into my face and hit me, and I've been completely useless.) I tried to deal with him, but he disappeared. I stuck with it for over an hour, but I couldn't find it, so I gave up and went to bed, but I couldn't fall asleep. Pass through the bed and tatami mats as it is, climb up the roll curtain of the sash window and pause. It was after 3 o'clock in the middle of the night, but as expected, I contacted the front desk. A night watchman comes, but is handed insecticide. ”I (the customer) will exterminate it???” → ”Then, let's do it?” → ”Please (obviously!)” As expected, he couldn't kill him and the cockroach flew away... (my wife's scream), but I managed to crush him with a rolled up magazine... (madly absorbed). I didn't think it was the only one, so I couldn't sleep at all after all. (I didn't meet the second one) There was no contact from the inn even during normal business hours. Perhaps there was a message from the night watchman, but at breakfast and at the time of payment, some of the young staff members apologized (in the form) and folded a small amount of sweets after the payment. There was nothing from the inn's boss level, and I didn't feel any sincerity or gratitude, so I ended up leaving the young staff to deal with it... The details of the matter, thorough cleaning and disinfection, and a review of the response to the person in charge were written on the designated questionnaire form.

Amazing experience at this Ryokan in front of the beach. I stayed in room 211 with a private bath in the balcony. The view from the room was amazing and very beautiful. The shower was great also, located next to the balcony. The hotel has 2 different public baths. One of them is located in the terrace where you can observe the beautiful stars at night while relaxing in the bath. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. There is a ping pong table near the front office where you can play for free. The dinner and breakfast were very delicious and very abundant. I will definitely stay here again if I go to Shimoda.

There are interesting and beautiful beach views in East Izumba where you can swim, soak in hot springs and enjoy a gourmet meal. My kids love the beach very much, I love the hotel, the waiters, especially Mr. Inari, who speaks very fluent English and is very helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the train station, which is very useful for guests with luggage considering the hilly terrain of the small town, and the hotel also offers enough bath towels, parasols and beach chairs to take to the beach across the street all day. There is also an outdoor small shower before returning to the hotel lobby, where you can wash the sand off your body first. The hotel lobby also provides sandals that can be taken to the beach. Although the sand on the beach is soft, it is very hot after the sun is shining, and slippers are very necessary. Each room has a stunning sea view, and there are plenty of food in the fridge, including bottled water and Asahi beer. Our meals are private dining, friendly, lovely waitress who can meet all our needs, serve us very professionally, and introduce us to Japanese dining etiquette. After we go to breakfast, the hotel attendants will come to our room, take the Japanese mattress away, and then set up the living area, and when we go to dinner, they will come and put the mattress for us. Every afternoon, we will prepare ice water and snacks. They don't mind us bringing sand back from the beach, but they will help us clean it up quickly. The hot springs are very beautiful, indoor and outdoor, both male and female, and you can see the seaside scenery. There is a convenience store next to the hotel where you can buy coffee, snacks and lunch. In the evening, you can set off fireworks by the sea and children can play video games. The whole community is very safe and is a local resident. It would be better if there was no online network in the room, but, in short, we could focus more on playing and resting without the network.

It seems that it just opened in April 2022, and it is a beautiful building. Lobby was very large, too, and sofa and table were still there. It's like a hotel in a foreign country. I've never been there, but I thought it was like Hawaii. It was good that the time of sunrise and sunset was written on the front desk. The next day I was able to get up at that time and see the sunrise. The left side of the veranda of the room is the east. All rooms are ocean view, and you can overlook the sea of Izu. Great Pacific! ! ! The sea is quite close and you can always hear the sound of waves. If the weather is clear, you can also see the seven islands of Izu. It's interesting to guess what island that is while looking at the map. Amenity is only a toothbrush in the room. Other than that, please bring it from the front desk when you check in. I didn't really know what was there, so I got everything for the time being (lol) The pool is timed. Put in for an hour and a half. The water was quite cold, so I was grateful to receive a bath towel. I went in the evening and felt a little cold. I didn't swim there, but it's about 25 meters long. The scenery is just wonderful. Sunset, sea, sunset... I could stand by the pool all the time. I returned with the sunset, but the night pool was beautiful at night. It was lit up. You can see the pool from the room. Dinner is a buffet. You can choose from 6:00 to 7:30 or 7:30 to 9:00. It was delicious as usual, and I was satisfied with the number of items. It was full of seafood such as sashimi, grilled shrimp, grilled turban shell in Burgundy, and sushi. I don't know how many pieces of sashimi I ate (laughs) Of course, there are also meat dishes such as roast beef and rafute. Sweets were also substantial, and I could eat as much as I could, such as cakes and brulee. I felt that the T-bag type herbal tea was rare. I drank wild berries and African nectar. I prefer the latter. As for fruit, the melon was sweet and the best. It would have been nice to have breakfast as well. I enjoyed it for an hour and a half, but the guests with children returned to their rooms. I think there were meals that children could eat, such as gratin, shrimp chili, and seafood curry, but it's strange. It was surprising that we were the only ones who stayed until the closing time. Breakfast is also a buffet. Same as the day before, I'm satisfied. Of particular note are the mushroom omelet rice and orange French toast. It is said to be a specialty of Izu. I replaced it several times. I ate a lot of sweets for breakfast as well. The yam compote is impressive. I used the open-air bath twice, one at night and one in the morning. A bathing fee of 150 yen will be charged at check-out, so the more you enter, the more you will get. With an ocean view, I felt like I was soaking in the sea. Feels like an infinity pool. Finally, about transportation. It is safer not to walk from the station. There are many slopes and you will be tired. I am very grateful for the free pick-up service, but I wish it was on time. Is there only one car? We booked the transfer from the train station to the hotel in advance. However, he didn't come to the station when the time came, and when I called him, he was told that he was on his way. Hotel → station transfer told the front desk the departure time on the night of the first day. However, when it was time to leave, the car was nowhere to be found, and the driver would be there in five minutes. It was time for the train, so I was quite confused. The driver was a pro, so I'm glad I made it in time. I was blessed with friends who accompanied me, and it was a fun trip. The hotel was also good overall.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are a little sparse but very clean and the view was amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We did not eat there but had coffee in the dining room and the food looked amazing. We were up on a hill which gave us beautiful views, and we were about 5-10 minutes from the train station. They were doing improvements to the patio when we were there so I can only imagine how nice it will be when complete. We were still able to lounge at the pool and take in the water views. I would definitely stay again.

GGuest UserVery good flight and comfortable in front of Izu Express Shimoda Station. I arrived by bus, but there is also a bus terminal. However, the number of flights is not large. It is in a good place to check the time and spend the time adjusting to the bus time. The room was large and cozy. The front desk is not on the 1 floor of the building, but there is a guide on the elevator. It is a little difficult to find, but you can see it if you look well. The front desk had a polite staff. The morning bread is also available near the front desk, but I was grateful. However, at night, there is no pleasure town around ... is it because of the corona? It was saved because there was a supermarket. It is recommended for people who use railways and buses.

GGuest UserI wanted a place to stay overnight easily, so I was very helpful. The room was also non-smoking and clean, and I went after seeing the installer, but it was very fashionable, and the remote was easy to use and it was a calm environment even at this time. I had a whole day off, so I rented a rental cycle and rowed. I was very refreshed!

GGuest UserThis time, a trip around Izu in 3 nights and 4 days. All inns are hot springs. Among them, the quality of the spring was extremely good. Stayed in the Pygmarion building with an open-air bath in all rooms. pH9.5 What is it like? When I soaked it while thinking, it immediately became slimy! It feels like a piece of body surface has been peeled off. It feels good. In addition, there was a cup in the open-air bath in the room because it was possible to drink. When I drank it, it was soft and easy to drink water. In addition to the indoor and open-air baths, there is an American spa consisting of a jacuzzi and a whirlpool bath in the large women's communal bath, and I enjoyed taking a bath. Meals were also made using this hot spring water, and I also had it as a souvenir. Even cosmetics are made from this hot spring water. It is placed so that you can try it. It seems to be gentle on the skin and gastrointestinal tract. This building has tatami mats in the corridor, so you can walk barefoot. The tatami mats in the room were clean and comfortable. Even in the standard, it was large enough to spend a relaxing time. The meal is also in this building, so it is easy to move around. The dishes using hot spring water are Japanese food that are easy to eat. The cherry blossom shrimp rice was delicious. It is the amount that can be refilled. Day trip bathing facilities are also available until 4 pm. After 4 o'clock, there is a large communal bath for guests and an open-air bath in the room. It was already a hot spring. There is nothing to say because the quality of the spring is the best. It is hot springs, hot springs, and hot springs.

QQinghuayizhilianThe location of the hotel is great. It is a 15-minute walk from Shimoda Railway Station and two stops by bus. Across the road is the wharf of the black ship, and guests staying at the hotel will get a discount of 200 yen per person. There is a black ship museum on the small building of the tourist information center by the pier, as well as delicious fresh fish revolving sushi, but you may have to wait in line. It is only ten minutes' walk from Shimoda Park to watch the Hydrangea Show. The opposite of Xia Tian Park is the Aquarium. If you want to watch the dolphin show, you should check the schedule in advance. It takes 20 minutes to go to Shirahama Shrine by car, but this bus only runs every two hours, which is too little. The hotel's breakfast is a Japanese-style meal. There is a large public bath in the hotel. You can soak in hot springs indoors and outdoors. The room we booked is very large, and it is a sea view room, which is very good

GGuest UserThere is a bus license plate at the door of this hotel. There is a 24-hour beef rice next to it, and there is a 711, which is very convenient for shopping. Facing the sea, it is a sea view room. The price/performance ratio is really super high. The hotel attendant was very nice and took the luggage to the house. The hotel was renovated at first glance and the room was very clean. The furniture is not high class, but it is enough, and the balcony is also very good. But there is no hot water in the room. I prefer to take a shower in the big bath. It doesn't matter. People who don't have hot water can't accept it. Please be cautious.

GGuest UserPros: There is a lovely ancient atmosphere of that original; there is amazing untreated water after volcanic eruptions; large hot springs, both indoor and outdoor; reasonable price. Disadvantages: It is far to walk to the field; The food is generally the same; The service is average; The room is too old, sometimes it has a musty smell, not very clean.
