Myogi Green Hotel

A stay overlooking Mt. Myogi is a good way to relieve the fatigue of everyday life. The rooms are clean, the food is a buffet with a wide variety of options, and for dinner you can eat as much as you want, including shabu-shabu. The hot springs have a great sense of openness, and it was a very satisfying stay.

My family and I stayed at the glamping area. The glamping area is located on a hill a little away from the main building, about a 5-minute drive away. (There seems to be a shuttle bus.) There is a well-maintained lawn, so we let our small children play there. They also lend out toys. There are hammocks and beds to lie down on while looking at the mountains. We stayed in a dome-shaped tent (more like a cottage than a tent?) while looking at the beautiful Mt. Myogi, and had a comfortable time. The tent is fully air-conditioned and heated. The showers and toilets are shared, but they are clean and we didn't feel particularly inconvenienced. You can also use the hot springs in the main building, although it is a bit of a hassle to get around. Drinks are all-you-can-drink, including alcohol! Meals are BBQ style, and there is a place with a BBQ grill and table next to the tent. The food was mainly made from local ingredients and was very delicious. I was generally very satisfied, but if I had to write something, I would say the following: ・The BBQ grill was gas, not charcoal. (Perhaps because charcoal fires are difficult to control?) ・Even though this is mountain accommodation, seafood was served for dinner for some reason (scallops, squid, etc.... I can imagine...) ・There were not enough BBQ tongs or cutting boards. (I wish the cutting board was a bit larger. I also wish there were separate tongs for raw meat and grilled food.) ・There were not many meals that small children could eat. ・The LED lantern in the room was broken. ・There is Wi-Fi, but the quality is not so good.

Most rooms face Mt. Myogi, but some seem to face Mt. Akagi. The hot springs are smooth and can be used in combination with golf. There is also an all-you-can-eat and drink plan, so it's good value for money. There were many families, so it seems like a good place for sightseeing in the area and staying overnight at the hot springs. Considering the size of the facility, the hot springs (especially the open-air bath) are small, so make sure you have enough time. Breakfast is a buffet style, but it is served on the top floor, so it is very pleasant. There seems to be an all-you-can-eat ice cream plan for children.

There is a free shuttle bus from Matsuida Station and Joshu Tomioka Station, but it is convenient because there is one bus a day. However, you will not be able to get a proper meal unless you sign up for the plan that includes two meals. There are no shops near the hotel, the hotel shop only sells souvenirs, and the hotel restaurant is closed due to COVID-19. If you do not have a car, we recommend that you buy some food before arriving at the hotel. Please note that there are no stores where you can buy food around Matsuida Station.

We stayed at a 33m2 twin room on the 7th floor with a view of Mt. Myogi at the Gunma discount, with two meals included. The view from the window, which is about 7m wide, is impressive. You can see the view directly in front of you while lying in bed. Dinner was all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu and all-you-can-drink. We also had crab, but it wasn't that great. We were a little disappointed because we couldn't drink, but overall we were satisfied. Breakfast on the top floor was average. The hot spring was small compared to the size of the hotel, but the view was good.

For my first glamping trip, I stayed at the Myogi Green Hotel, which is convenient. It's cheap because it's the rainy season. As a result, it was cloudy when I checked in, and I was only able to take decent photos at that time. It was raining at night, and foggy and drizzling in the morning, which is unfortunate. Check-in is at the hotel. I came by car, so it wasn't a hassle, but I wonder what it would be like for people who don't have a car. There is a variety of all-you-can-drink options, which is what I was looking for. Due to COVID-19, you have to take the drinks to your room to drink, which is a hassle, and alcohol is only available until 9:30 p.m. However, you can drink soft drinks the next morning, so your mouth won't be empty. There is an all-inclusive option where you can drink alcohol all day, but I guess it's reasonable for this price. The only thing I regret is that I like plum wine, and when I thought I'd drink some before going to bed, there was no refill, which was disappointing. The room is compact. The bed was soft and the humidity was high, but not damp. There is air conditioning and a coffee server, but no safe, and no TV. It seems that glamping and tents often do not have toilets, but this is still my biggest concern. Even though I was prepared for it, it was a hassle to actually go to the toilet. However, the toilet was clean, and even though there was only one in the shower room, it was even cleaner. The shower room itself was a little small and it was difficult to wash my body. For dinner and breakfast, we had the BBQ space next to the room. Each meal was delicious and satisfying. The portions were plentiful and not unsatisfying. I feel like there were a lot of shrimp dishes. I had a meat dish last, but if you have a small appetite, I recommend having a meat dish first. The Joshu beef and Joshu Mochi pork were really great. The sausage was a little salty. The breakfast is something that I think the hotel is trying hard to provide, but from the perspective of a guest, I think this is different. I was full, though. Also, there was no takeaway jam that appears in various blogs and videos, which was a little, no, quite disappointing. We went to the hot springs on the night shuttle bus. It was really helpful because I was quite drunk. The changing room and the large bath were both large and good. The hot springs themselves don't seem to have the same gooey texture as they used to. I was prepared for it, but it was disappointing. Moreover, the open-air bath was small, and the group didn't seem to want to separate, so I gave up and finished in the indoor bath. It costs quite a bit during the season when you can see the sunrise over Mt. Myogi, so I don't know how to rate it, but it's great value for money at this time of year. Considering value for money, I gave it a 4, close to 5 stars.
