"This was a good option if you want to visit the fish market and walk through the underground pedestrian tunnel. It is located near the metro and a bus station is located out front that will take you to the locations. A mall is located next to the hotel which has plenty of eating options. Room was small but very clean. Very helpful front desk. Good option."

"Everything is good. The hotel has complete service facilities, including a laundry room. I finally washed and dried the clothes from the previous week. It is a little far from JR Shimonoseki Station. After exiting Shimonoseki Station, walk to the second-floor overpass until you get off the vertical elevator at the end and turn right at the next intersection. There is a local supermarket across the road on the right side of the hotel, which is quite rich. The night-time ramen 🍜 of the hotel is quite good."

"The hotel is economical and is located near the JR Shimonoseki station.When i went into the hotel, the staff helped me to check in patiently and explained the facilities carefully and with details. Also, the view is marvelous!"

"The location is excellent. There are many shops nearby, including Shimonoseki Station. The overpass is also very convenient. The surrounding area is quiet, so it's quiet at night. The breakfast is very clean and tidy. The bedding is well-made. It's nice that shampoo, conditioner, and body cleanser are all provided. They even provide a free toothbrush."

"Unbeatable location with many rooms ( or all rooms) and public spaces facing Tsunoshima Bridge. Our room faced the ocean directly with no obstruction. The bath was also quite decent and the outdoor bath is next to the sea. You can enjoy the sound of the waves while bathing in the hot spa. It should be quite spectacular during sunset. The spa was probably renovated within the last 10 years as it was in good condition. The room , however, felt old and the corridor was damp. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room felt stuffy. The AC worked well and we turned it on high. Our triple room as spacious but I felt itchy the whole night while sleeping- although the sheets looked clean ( I slept on the added bed). The other two beds looked slumped in the middle. Bathroom also looked quite old( from the 70’s)? My room was at the far end wing and there were lots of stairs to walk up and down from the front desk which was on the third floor. The staff will help to bring the luggages to your room ( also at check out - just call). Hotel restaurant serves dinner buffet . If you are not interested, the hotel also has a list of restaurants nearby with 10-30 minutes drive. We drove out to have yakitori in a small down, which was very local, but with friendly owner, good food- and super cheap price ( each yakitori was about ¥120-150 yen. Breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western offers, taste was average. Overall service was very good."

"This is not the Hotel in the photo added. The hotel is a reasonable Japanese style business hotel. The staff were very kind and friendly and tried to help us with the booking problem cause by Trip.com. The booking agency (Trip.com) had booked us as 6 guests and charged us accordingly. We were 4 adults and one child and were overcharged by Trip.com by 1/3 of the price (about 10,000 yen). The hotel staff were helpful but they couldn't do anything as this was a mistake by the agents not the hotel. I will be contacting Trip.com to ask for a refund of the amount they charged us in error."

"After returning to the hotel every night, you can enjoy free drinks. There are various kinds of wine, such as shochu, juice wine, plum wine, whiskey... If you don't like it, you can drink juice, soda and a variety of coffee options. It's super good and can be used. I fell asleep after soaking in the small hot spring. It was so satisfying."

"The staff was also kind and made me feel comfortable! The toilet and bath were separated, and the room was clean. It looked like a room for a single person. I wasn't able to enjoy the scenery because it wasn't on the ocean side, but it was conveniently located near Karato Market and the location was great. I thought it would be helpful to have makeup remover and lotion."

"Smile Hotel Shimonoseki is right next to the JR station. Walk to the right and follow the station for two minutes. The JR station building is also the Daimaru Shopping Center. From the basement to the fourth floor are shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Buses 1 to 4 go to Karato Market. The seafood restaurants in Karato Market sell cheap salmon sashimi. Shimonoseki is a historic place and worth a visit."

"Although it is a distance to walk from Shimonoseki Station, it is convenient for sightseeing and business because the bus stop is close and there are frequent buses to Karato Market. There was a supermarket nearby and there was DAISO, so I was able to spend a comfortable time. Breakfast is rice balls and you can eat in your room."
