I had a two night stay at Sinhagiri Villa and really enjoyed it. It’s a smallish, family run boutique hotel. You’ll enjoy home cooked meals and a very warm welcome while you’re there. While the rooms may be basic they are very clean and well maintained. It is convenient to local historic sites as well as other points of interest. We climbed Pidurangala Rock one morning and the hosts arranged a predawn tuk tuk driver for us. If you’re looking for an enjoyable stay as you explore Sri Lanka you won’t go wrong here. One note, my friend and I were self driving and had just clicked on the hotel on Google Maps to get navigation. The pin must be placed in the wrong location because we were routed about 20 minutes out of the way. When we entered the physical address found on the internet into the navigation it took us directly to Sinhagiri Villa. There is a great little lunch spot that is about a 1Km walk from the Villa, McCafe, check it out while you’re there, you’ll love it!

A lovely homestay just outside the main ***** of Sigiriya. The most welcoming and friendly hosts. The rooms are what you would expect for the price. Nice and clean, air-conditioning. It is in beautiful nature so expect animal noises (peacocks, dogs, birds). We ate both breakfast and dinner at their restaurant Green Hut Restaurant which is next door. The food was delicious and made with organic produce from their garden.

One amazing stay in sigiriya had to stay here a few more days just to get everything out of The place and The surroundings. This place is amazing and so is the family. Everyone is very respectfull and treating you very nicely.

We spent our first 3 nights in Sri Lanka here and it was a wonderful welcome to a beautiful country. It’s a good base to explore the Cultural Triangle. The owners are kind and helpful with anything we asked.

Hôtel avec une très belle vue, le personnel y est très accueillant et vous fait sentir comme chez vous. Le service est excellent et le cadre très reposant. Les chambres sont confortables. En résumé c’est un endroit qui en vaut le séjour.

I felt the family were disappointed that I was a solo female because I feel they had expectations that I would book safaris with them which I was not interested in. I had booked an extra night through *********** by mistake and on the day I arrived the lady of the house told me I could cancel the whole booking and pay them directly. My plans changed again and I wanted to leave a day early. The man who owns the house got angry and made me pay for the third night saying that they had to turn down a couple that morning which I don’t believe. The funny thing is after breakfast when i separately told the wife I would be leaving that day she said okay you will now pay for two nights not three. Also they had 7 rooms and I doubt they were all occupied. I have read a lot of good reviews about this place which is why I chose to go there and I can see them being hospitable to groups of travelers. But I would not recommend this place to any solo female traveler.
