We had a very good impression of this hotel when my mother in law came to stay here last year, so we decided to book staycation this weekend. Sadly, the experience this time is rather disappointing. The hotel room is good, but the service for sure is not 5 star standard. We arrived at the reception to wait for check in, but after waiting for more than 20 mins, still no one came to ask us. Some people who came in later and cut the queue got checked in before us instead. Ok, fine, then I stood up and walked to the counter on myself once the seat was empty. Surprisingly, the receptionist asked for the tourists standing behind us first, even the group behind us explained to the receptionist that we came first, she could serve us first. I also politely explained to her that we have been waiting for a very long time and even people who cut the queue got checked in already. Without apologising, she checked us in very impatiently. During the check in process, she insisted to see our physical ID when I mentioned that I could show her my Singpass whereas the Singaporean couple next to us could just show their Singpass with another receptionist. This kind of discrimination cannot be tolerated. Luckily, I got my ID with me so she had no excuse to reject us. Also, in the middle of check in process, she just disappeared for around 10 mins without explaining to us what had happened, left us waiting there with confusion. Not sure whether she purposely did that to keep us waiting longer, for sure more than 5 groups behind us had checked in while we were waiting. The service did ruin our weekend, will not recommend this hotel.
