Shipping Container Hotel at Haw PAR Villa

The floor is not balanced and that causes us to be nauseous and giddy. Bad stay.

Easier by own transport. If walk need to go through Haw Par Villa. $5 per entry to park in. Need to verify particulars check in to the person in charge, email your booking 1 day in advance to slot the time after 3pm check in. Quiet, peaceful place, very clean, like in the Woods. Very creative hotel which was a container. Inside was really nice with 4 aircons, kitchenette, kitchen tools, utensils, fridge, ironing, showering, tv, two queen beds, sofa and tv. Balcony area so greenery and calm. Feels like a cozy small home for relaxing environtment. Shops quite distance, with pubs, cafes, coffee shops & Haw Par Villa attraction. Definately love my stay there! So much adventures and peace. I wish i can have a house like that.

Great if you want peace

This was definitely a unique experience! Loved the coziness and the amenities within the container (there are four Aircon units in the room…well-equipped itself is an understatement). The location, however, was a bit of an issue for us. Firstly, this container hotel is located at the back of Haw Par Villa (a tourist attraction). You’d need to walk up a hill for about 5-10 minutes to reach the container. There is a road that leads to the hotel directly, but taxi drivers / grab drivers get lost very easily as the container shares the same postal code as the tourist attraction. Do also note that if you return to the hotel beyond 1130pm, you will need to call the Haw Par Villa guard house to open the gate for you, or else you will be locked out from accessing your container hotel even if you have the door card. But that being said, this location also means that you are embraced by the nature sights of trees and foliages, which in itself is a nice respite from Singapore’s urban chaos. One suggestion that is worth the management’s consideration would be to automatically send a check-in manual to the booking email address (something like what Airbnb landlords do), without necessitating the individual to call up the management and end up in a back and forth to figure out the check-in procedures. I am not too fussy about this as I understand a hotel as new as container hotel will need time to firm up its processes, but this is a crucial step to take if the management intends for this business to scale.

It was a unique experience. There were some issues but the hotel was responsive to our feedback: 1. There was no washer and dryer in the hotel though it was stated as available under Room Amenities in ********** website. The hotel washed our laundry for free. 2. The aircon in the bedroom was noisy, dirty and not cold. It was cleaned the day after our feedback and replaced on the 5th day of our stay. 3. The bathroom floor became very wet after shower. We suggested to install a third shower curtain and reduce the length for safety reason and our suggestion was implemented.

I would rate 1! Hotel & Environment wise pretty fine .. the issue about this hotel is the owner's POOR Customer Management! A very last min changes every here & there! Firstly, no electricity supply on my very important event day! Secondly I booked for 2 nights but was forced to stayed at 2 different containers on each night respectively! Imagine having a group of us carry so many stuff transferring from one place to another is already a hassle! Moreover, I had a bad fall on the very first night, it was so bad that I need to undergo a surgery. Not only my event ruined, i'm physically & mentally affected with this injury But owner didn't even bother to check on my injury after the incident despite my injury took place at their container hotel. A Total Disappointment!! Will NEVER VISIT AGAIN!

Nice stay. Location not very inconvenient. Room is decent and nice.
