Hotel Bencoolen @ Bencoolen Street

Reasonably priced even in Singapore. It feels a little old, but breakfast is provided and it's close to the MRT station, so I think it's a good value hotel. If you're looking for something new, you should pay more and stay at a different hotel.

The hotel room is small, the hygiene is OK, and the infrastructure is poor. After checking in, I found that there were no slippers. What I didn't consider was that there is no Chinese-speaking front desk in Singapore, and there are communication barriers.

The hotel you stay in for a room rate of 1,000 yuan is a black hotel! Booked three weeks in advance for two nights and cannot cancel. After experiencing a sleepless night, I strongly expressed my dissatisfaction and complained to Ctrip, and finally refunded the one-night room fee. In addition to being close to the subway station, this hotel is strongly recommended not to be booked for the following reasons: 1) The facilities are very old; for a hotel renovated in 2021 (see Ctrip.com), seeing is believing: the bathroom door in the house is broken. The carpet in the corridor is old and dirty. There are only two walking machines in the gym in the outdoor corner of the second floor. The included breakfast is very basic. 2) The most terrifying and unforgettable experience: It was cold with the air conditioner on, and the quilt was very thin. At about two o'clock in the morning, the air conditioner was turned off, and the water droplets condensed on the roof began to drip on the bed drop by drop. It kept dripping, and the right side of the bed was dripping. I got wet and didn't sleep all night; 3) After complaining to Ctrip, the hotel manager replied that I couldn't refund and upgrade the room, which was really stupid. In the end, a manager Cao from Ctrip came forward to communicate and finally refunded the room payment and expressed his apology, and received some compensation. As a long-time Ctrip customer, this is the first time I have stayed in a dark hotel (expensive, poor facilities, water dripping from the ceiling one night, unable to sleep the whole night). I can’t comment on anything other than an absolute bad review! If you read this review carefully, I believe you will not choose this hotel!

The service attitude is still good, but the room is still a bit old overall. However, the location is good, very close to the subway station, and it takes about two or three minutes to walk.

The service attitude is getting worse and worse. The home-like service is no longer the same as before. The carpets are dirty. My old man has lived in this express hotel for more than 20 years. It is very close to the Guanyin Temple and I am planning to move to another hotel recently.
