Location is pretty strategic, located on the entrance of Chinatown MRT exit A. They have 2 buildings on the left and right of MRT entrance. But you won't have any trouble at all to look for it since the sign board is clearly seen from the MRT entrance.
The reception area is on the left side building (more spacious and feels homey rather than the building I stayed). I stayed in the ladies only room (#4) on the right side building. So, if I need something or ask the staff, I have to go to the other building.
The room, bed, linen are clean but they don't provide towel & toiletries. So you have to bring your own. And don't forget to bring padlock for your locker (big enough for 20-inches suitcase).
Air conditioners in my room were working well and it's cooler because helped with 2 fans.
The toilets are relatively smaller than the other building, but that's okay for me (hot water, tissue are provided).
You can use the fridge, hair dryer, water, electric water jug, iron, outdoor patio together with other guests.
The staffs are nice, friendly and helpful. Because it's Chinese New Year time, they even offer me home made yu sheng. Pretty nice flavor and experience.
Overall, it was great experience staying in royal hostel.

For solo travelers who don’t have much demand for housing, this is a high-CP option in Singapore.
It's right next to mrt Chinatown station, surrounded by businesses (both food and souvenir shops) and the nearest 711 is just a few steps away. In addition to the price of goods in Singapore itself, the geographical conditions of this youth hostel are very suitable for the living habits of *********~

The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and provides attentive service. The room is clean and tidy, the transportation is convenient, and the price is affordable. I have stayed here several times. It is good.

the location is great but we got a two people bedroom and it has no door so no point on paying extra for private room

A particularly rubbish place arranged a mixed room for two little girls like us. I slept naked for two days before I found out how many men were there. The business owner has no ethics and won’t explain it clearly to us.
