The old familiar Transit Hotel has been part of my travel experience since 2006, both in Terminal 2 and 3. I always book it, and be sure to book it as early as possible once you know your flight details, as it seems to be always booked out when any travellers are enquiring on the off chance, I’ve noticed this consistently. I find it perfectly fine, sure, probably on the expensive side but after a 12 hour Economy class flight, I’ll pay just about anything to have somewhere to shower, stretch out and relax before embarking again in the final leg to Australia. The rooms are well appointed and I’ve never had any trouble with cleanliness. I like the old orange decor but now it’s all greys and blacks and neutral, whatever. The shower is really good with plenty of towels. Wi-fi access has improved and the beds are comfortable. Food is now available but the hotel is adjacent to a big food court with numerous 7-11s and Asian and Western cuisine so I go there as to be honest the boxed food on offer for the rooms didn’t look too attractive. I’ve never had any problems with the Transit Hotel and actually sort of look forward to it on my travels….
