Stayed in this hotel decades ago, so nostalgia sent me back to hotel for this trip. Used to be one of the finest hotels in the more vibrant central area of the city. Now not as busy as it used to be, but still of close proximity to the MTR and of course a stone throw away from Orchard Road.

Excellent service and staff, really enjoyed our short stay! Had booked a night's stay here to celebrate Mother's Day, and we were surprised with a complimentary upgrade as well, which gave us access to the co-working space on Level 15. The lounge looks dated but was generally well kept with self serve drinks and local snacks. Room was mostly clean though the bathroom door lock was faulty and there was a leftover label from the previous guest's toiletries that was still stuck to the wall in the shower room. Tiny inconveniences which we didn't feel like reporting to the hotel staff since it was not much of a bother to us. Again, had issues connecting to the wifi but we had more than enough data to spare anyway.
Room was great, the bed was very comfortable and we appreciate having thoughtful amenities such as the number of hangers and iron available. Bathroom was spacious and the tub was clean. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and the staff we interacted, from front office to housekeeping, were friendly and genuine in making our stay a pleasant one. Pity about not being able to get a table at Carousel at all the meal times...

Service was top-notch, location was superb as well. Easy access to shopping centres, eateries etc. Check-in was a breeze, staff were friendly too - right down to the housekeeper. Only downsides were the pool (a bit small) and the route to the carpark (had to carry my luggage up and down the staircase, can't imagine if there were wheelchair bound guests).
Overall, highly recommended for the price and service!
