We had a lovely stay and we genuinely don't understand some of the low reviews. The room was very nice, especially for the price we paid, the staff was attentive and the breakfast was really quite good. Would definitely stay again.

I spent a week at Hotel Como, which is now one of my favourite hotels ever. It is opposite the train station, and round the corner from the bus station. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast selection was perfect for me - fresh croissants, bread, fruit juice, and coffee. I enjoyed the stroll along Corso Umberto to get to Ortigia, which is the main bustling crowded historical island. I knew it was a popular destination, but even so I was a bit surprised at the huge number of tourists! However, it's possible to amble along side streets and find some quiet areas. Grazie, Giuseppe, and everyone else whose names I didn't get, for the warm and friendly welcome.

Nice location on a side street within easy reach of the bridges between Ortiga and Syracuse. Close to the Ortiga market and great ice cream nearby. Comfortable room although slightly odd design with a very long but quite narrow bathroom. Had some difficulty closing the bathroom window which made the first night a bit noisy. Good hairdryer provided. The building is quite quirky so if you're lucky enough to go when the roof terrace is available for breakfast it involves a bit of an expedition up different staircases, along corridors and a final winding stair up. But it's well worth the journey as views from the terrace are gorgeous and a really lovely place to sit & people watch. Not much spare space to actually set out breakfast but they maximise what they do have and the cheesecake and tarts in particular were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful and city maps available if you're doing detailed exploring. Overall a very good stay & would recommend. A little better soundproofing in the rooms against both internal and external noise would be useful.

The hotel is in the old town, we are not allowed to drive by self-driving tour, all are ZTL restricted signs, the three-star hotel is not only good location, the room is super big, the other is not. Habits give 5 stars a good review.

This hotel is a very good option if your looking to stay outside Ortigia but close enough to walk. Its only 7 to 8 minute walk across to the historical center. The hotel was clean and a good reasonable option. There are a few flights of stairs to reach the rooms but Mario who as very helpful, was happy to assist with our suitcases. Travellers with cars will find this a good option with free street parking available in walking distance. We were able to leave out car there for our few days, once you find a park!

Sweet, old, malolent, full of powder, fully discharged barley furniture, in the middle of a erial, an impossible place, we charged the tourist fees nothing more to arrive, because, they said, ”so you won't go without paying them.” The old beds, beds that have never been washed, or that seems to be, and with baths that are swamping, the air conditioning with cards and American tape ... only speak Italian, I had to ask you to talk slower, and they did not, extremely dry and antipathic, no effort to meet us. I have only been 10 minutes in the hotel and I can already affirm that I had not been in such a stupid hotel in my life, and, Of course, no one of these in these holidays. Remember the name: Scala Grecia. this hotel can bitter your holidays. Fortunately, I will be only two nights, though I will be everlasting. three stars... Italian. neither one, is your fair category.
