Me and my friend recently returned from a week at Castello Village Resort and it was fantastic! We booked together through a package holiday, costing about £500 each, we were expecting more basic facilities but it incredibly exceeded out expectations. Our room was large, spacious and clean with a modern up to date bathroom, and walk-in wardrobe with a mini fridge. The air-conditioning worked perfectly, and the staff cleaned the room thoroughly everyday, even going as far to mop the floors inside the room and sweep the balcony of any leaves or plants that may have fallen down. There were two pools, some days were busier than others, and both pools were lovely and clean, personally witnessing it being cleaned daily. Sunbeds were on some day difficult to come by but if you didn't mind getting up slightly earlier and continuing your snooze, or reading on a sun lounger it was absolutely no issue at all. The breakfast buffet was a good selection of breakfast staples, with the different items added in daily to mix it up, there was always fresh loaves of bread you could cut yourself which we both really enjoyed. The dinner buffet was also to a good standard, yes it wasn't fine restaurant dining, but there would always be a wide range of meat, fish and a veggie option daily, with different sides and desserts. If this is not to your taste there are plenty of lovely restaurants located around the harbor. Food was seen to be switched out regularly so it was always fresh. There were seating options outdoors and indoors, with some of the outdoor seating being at risk of bird droppings, however, the hotel can hardly control the wildlife and we defo learnt our lesson after the first time and made sure we sat under the covered over areas outside! The staff at the hotel were excellent, Ervis the manager was incredibly kind, and despite always being busy and running about (a very hard working man!), was always checking we were okay and having a joke with us! The entertainment on offer was brilliant and all other staff were friendly and attentive. One lady working on reception did discipline another female member of staff quite harshly in front of customers, which personally i see as unprofessional, but should not overshadow the brilliance of all other staff working at Castello. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday in Sissi and would love to visit Castello Resort in the future, some of the reviews are unfair, most likely having expectations that exceeded the price they paid for this holiday. Thankyou to the Castello Team for allowing us a lovely week away!

Very unsuitable for people with mobility issues or wheelchairs and buggy, room cleaner brilliant and around hotel clean. Dining room shabby and not the cleanest. The lady in reception is one of the rudest ladies I have met and shouldn't be meeting and greeting people.

Had a fabulous week staying at the Castello Village Hotel in Sissi, Crete. Lovely clean room with a balcony overlooking the pool and the sea. Air con and a fridge in the room were an excellent idea and a necessity in this 32 degrees heat. The staff are all very friendly. The lovely receptionist guy the night we arrived at midnight had kept us a meal which was a lovely touch. The food was traditionally Greek and lovely for half board with plenty of choice each mealtime and constantly replenished during service. The hotel is so central to the harbour, shops, tavernas and bars with a supermarket right on our doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The Greek night last night was amazing and so romantic eating dinner at the poolside with linen tablecloths. Special shout outs to the male receptionist when we arrived on Monday night, Evris, you never stop and are always smiling and our housekeeper who cleaned our room every day and left us fresh towels and bedlinen even on our last night. We hope to come back here again

Just arrived home from having to spend 2 weeks here. When booked I up graded to a delux room with sea view. Our room was pretty good, could see the sea a little. Unfortunately after a few hours we had large cock roaches in our bathroom. Told reception desk they gave us a can of spray to kill them. Went out to pool on our return to our room, we had yet another 5 in our room. Maid came and sprayed our room. Unfortunately this didnt solve the problem as by the time we got back to our room again,we had another 6. Finally we asked to be moved to another room. We was put on a first floor room, was a shoe box. Dryer was coming out of the wall on balcony. Curtain rail hanging off one end. There was hardly any view of the sea, after paying to upgrade we was very dissaponted. They had no other rooms to move us to. We know this was a lie as another couple who complained also was moved to a huge room with sea view. Our room was never cleaned, only bed change every 3rd day.but occasionally we had clean towels. Food was a bit boring. Lady on reception was very rude and unprofessional. On our day off vacating, my husband checked under beds,to see if any of our belongings went under. We had now items under them, but there was a broken drinking glass under his bed with pieces of glass from it. This is definitely not a 4 star, but scrapes as a 3 star. We would not recommend this place, plus will not return. We have a incident enquiry going on with easy jet as I write this.

Overall we’ve had a lovely, peaceful holiday and would say that this hotel is amazing value for money. The hotel is pleasantly decorated, and clean with lovely staff. For the price that we paid I am incredibly impressed! The room was of a good standard of cleanliness, with modern furnishings, bathroom and nice balcony overlooking the nearby mountains and church. The restaurant staff were wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food was cooked to a good standard, however became repetitive. They had a limited selection of food to cater for the fact that they are a smaller hotel. The outdoor areas were nice. The hotel had 2 pools, one which had the main daytime entertainment and another which is more peaceful and closer to the sea. This was nice as it meant you could get away from the music. The hotel does have a problem with guests reserving sun beds. Despite the welcome pack stating this is not aloud, guests often reserved sun beds all day despite them not being on them. If you go after 8am then all the sun beds are taken. At one point we saw a couple reserve beds before breakfast and then not return until 4pm. No staff are monitoring this and I do not think that the hotel has enough beds to cater for the guests. Location is great. Not far from the town of Sisi which is lovely and quaint with great bars and restaurants. Website says it’s 10 minute walk to beach, I would say it’s longer but still not too far, however only a very small pebble beach. Tidiness of communal areas was mostly good however cleaning staff appear to be leaving things around after they’ve left, e.g bin bag on corridor floor for 3 days and linen from a vacated room overnight. Entertainment was great. Had a nice mature feeling to it unlike some places which are aimed mainly at the kids.

Wow! What a perfect holiday. Me and my partner have just returned from 10 days in a deluxe sea view room at Castello Village Resort. Our room was lovely and modern with a cleaner everyday changing bedding, moping and leaving us fresh towels. The staff are what make the hotel and really made our holiday, they all got to know us very well which made our service much more personal- well done to the staff, we had a heatwave whilst we were there and they all worked long hours with still a big smile! Our welcome was warm, arriving late but they put to one side some food for us to eat in the dining hall which we thought was nice instead of having to eat it in the room. Our one recommendation would be to go just breakfast. We went full board but the food wasn’t up to much unfortunately. We found ourselves eating out a lot but all the restaurants nearby are reasonable with a shoutout to Nermilos (stunning homemade traditional food). We also made use of the facilities at the sister hotel across the road, Castello Boutique, where again the bar staff were excellent! The hotel has a Greek night which was an extra 25 euros each (FB), 35 euro if not. It was a nice night with good entertainment but I must say there was no complimentary drink which would’ve gone a long way with paying 25 euro for food we had more or less paid for when we went full board. We booked many trips through reception which were very well organised and we felt well informed from the staff about them. Overall, we couldn’t fault the staff, room and complex itself. We had a pleasant, relaxing holiday and look forward to returning next year- Sisi is truly beautiful.

Perfect location for getting around sissi We have just come home after having a great holiday at Castello Village Hotel. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to return in September I was surprised by how good the breakfast was It was plentiful with variety The rooms were always cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels The pool is excellent with activities taking place throughout the day if you choose to join in and the pool bar is great It’s a great location to walk into the village and enjoy the local bars and tavernas Staff provided us with all the information we needed and were very friendly and helpful There is a local grocery shop across the road which is extremely handy The nearest beach is a small walk away It’s just a great base to either explore Crete or just relax and enjoy the glorious weather Thankyou to everyone at Castello Village for making my holiday so good See you soon

We arrived after midnight due to a delayed take off and was met by a man who took us to reception. He told us that food was available in the restaurant if we were hungry but we declined and said we'd just like to go to our room. On route to the room, he told us that the room we'd booked wasn't available (Deluxe sea view) and we would be in another room for just 1 night. It was small but comfortable and right by the building work going on next door (another Costello hotel), so we were woken up early. After breakfast we went to see if the room we'd booked was ready and was told it wouldn't be until after 1pm. We had to go and collect our cases from the old room and was shown to the new one. It had a lovely sea view and looked nice but the door was sticking, I asked if there was another room but was told no so we then had to wait for the maintenance man to turn up. It felt like our first day was spent waiting for things to be done which wasn't what we'd hoped for on our 5 night break. We had to vacate our room by 11am and wasn't being picked up until 5.30pm so had to leave our suitcases in the luggage store. At best we would only rate this hotel as a 3 star, when you first arrive especially late at night, it looks quite impressive but see it through fresh eyes the following day and there's a lot of room for improvement. I think the photos used to advertise the hotel are out of date. During our stay, the bar by the lower pool wasn't open. The sundloungers around the pool were all close together and although a sign said management would remove towels reserving them, they didnt. The outside seating area of the restaurant has canopies put up but there are gaps between them and bird mess all over the floor. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, there was a good selection of food and drink but the cooked breakfast seemed very greasy and didn't look that fresh on any morning. Our room was quite nice apart from somebodys hair on the floor. The staff literally just emptied the bins, the bed barely looked like it had been made up and never had a linen change the towels were changed once. Milk wasn't topped up either. The chairs on our terrace were old and rusty with what looked like old curtains on them and the table was rusty with bird mess on it. Some of the loungers were badly stained and torn. On the plus side, the aircon worked well as did the fridge. Next door is the Jolly Roger pub which plays very loud music until late. There's a useful supermarket just across the road and the area looks very pretty especially at night. Sadly the resort is lacking a decent beach within walking distance.
