"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Spectacular Stay – Memories We Will Treasure Forever What an absolutely spectacular hotel! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something very special. The hotel itself is beautiful, the food was simply fabulous, and the staff across every department were exceptional. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they genuinely went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Our swim-up room was amazing, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. And the floating breakfast was absolutely wonderful, such a special experience that we will remember for a very long time. What made our stay even more meaningful was how wonderfully the hotel helped us celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We felt so cared for and celebrated, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to mark such a special milestone. We have to give some very special mentions to the incredible people who made our holiday even more memorable: ❤️ Mary – you truly have a heart of gold. You made us feel so special and cared for. You will forever have a place in our hearts. ❤️ Manos – not just a member of staff, but a true friend. Thank you for all the kindness, laughter and wonderful memories. ❤️ Oresti – always such a pleasure to see you every day around the pool. Your warmth and friendliness made our days even brighter. ❤️ Evans – you have quite simply the best laugh ever! You brought so much fun and happiness to our holiday. ❤️ Kara – thank you for all the great chats and for always making us feel so welcome. ❤️ Thekli – your smile is simply the best! Thank you for spreading so much warmth and happiness. Every single member of staff we encountered deserves recognition. You all work incredibly hard, yet you make it look effortless, always greeting guests with genuine warmth and a smile. We arrived as guests celebrating 25 years of marriage and left feeling like we had made wonderful memories and lasting friendships. Thank you to everyone at this truly special hotel for making our anniversary celebration so magical. We will think of Crete, the beautiful hotel, the amazing food, the laughter, the sunshine and, most importantly, all of you, with the fondest of memories. Until we meet again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️🇬🇷 25 years married, countless memories made, and some very special people who will stay in our hearts forever."

"This is really lovely hotel but again 4 star not 5 The staff are all excelleant, especialy the reception staff and the bar staff, they could not be anymore pleasant and helpful if they tried, always smiling chatting asking how your holiday was going. The bar staff would daily bring little treats around the pool, nice touch Our room was beautiful overlooking the pool and the church and there was nothing to complain about, the cleaner came in each day, and we had fresh towels as needed, lovely cake and free local greek drink left for us each day The food was nice but the restaurant a little under managed, no spoons with tea and coffee, no clear direction on arrival and the soup always cold. The menu is varied and very nice but the salad bars and starters all very much the same night after night. We ate out locally every lunchtime as we were half board but also ate twice in the week in the local greek restaurant. We attended a Greek night at Amelias, it was fantastic The sunbeds were very worn in places, ripped cushions and the parasols were not very secure. There was room for more sunbeds and i dont see why they cant have enough sunbeds for all guests seeing its such a small hotel"

"Having the worst experience and it’s only day 1!!! The phone in the room doesn’t work. The staff are unavailable to help most of the time but when they are available they try their best. The food is terrible. My room is freezing cold and smells like damp 😢 what else can go wrong?"

"We have just returned from the best holiday we have ever had, we loved it so much here we are changing our next summer holiday that we have booked to here! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean. The sun beds are extremely comfortable, 3 pool areas with plenty of beds available at all times, never any rush to put towels down. The pool bar does lovely drinks and the food looked delicious however we didn’t eat there as we went out for lunch and dinner. Our room was fantastic, we just stayed in a standard room and it was perfect, the bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on, fridge and air con were fantastic, water stocked daily. The only downside with the room was the people above us where extremely noisy, not the hotels fault at all, but at 4:30am one morning I did go to reception to ask them to keep the noise down, the staff were very helpful with this. A room tip if you are in the standard is ask for a first floor! Breakfast was amazing, a choice of eggs off the menu made to order and then a choice of bacon, vegetables, breads, pastries, yogurt etc. I found all the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. The area itself is lovely, it wasn’t too busy for the height of summer, you can exit the hotel at the back and walk along to the harbour. There are so many lovely tavernas right outside the hotel. Edem is just over the road and was fantastic, we also went to Amelia which was great but we almost didn’t get a table as it was busy, Elia is another great taverna. The harbour is around 10-15 minutes walk away and there are plenty of great bars and tavernas, all amazing to watch the sunset. We can’t wait to come back next year!"

"Most beautiful hotel ever stayed in. The plants and the views are breathtaking. Rooms are basic typical Greek style, clean good size and appreciated the fridge and again the view from the large balcony. Food is Greek , we are in Greece so don't expect chips with every meal as been here two weeks and not seen any , lots of fresh local produce and I who is a funny eater never struggled and breakfasts were best had any where loved it.swimming pool beautiful area no problem with getting a sunlounger. Staff so friendly. Area is quiet , stunning . Best holiday we have had for being relaxed in a friendly location. Anything negative ? Yes 2 weeks wasn't long enough."

"We recently returned from a lovely stay at Angela Suites. We had a spacious deluxe double room with balcony which unfortunately didn't have a view. We were in a block of 9, the bottom 3 having direct access to their own pool. We all faced onto the side wall of another block which was disappointing. The room was spotless, however quite dated, including the bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory and served until 10.30. The breakfast staff were so friendly and very attentive. The pool was 1.4m in depth throughout. Never any problem getting a sunbed during the day. Pool towels are also provided by the Hotel. The Angela Studio Apts are across the road and have full use of the Hotels facilities. These are 3 star and the apartments have views of the mountains. If we were to return in the future we would definitely choose the Studios. The tourist tax for these is €2 per night compared to the €15 per night we paid on checkout for 11 nights! A huge amount when really there is no real difference between the 2 accommodations. Please bear in mind the Hotel is not 5* This is an excellent 3.5* Hotel which we would return to again. If you come expecting 5* you will be disappointed. Fortunately, we read the reviews before we came and knew not to expect 5*"

"We had an 11 day stay at these apartments with Jet2 on a B & B basis. This was our second visit to Sissi and the Angela chosen for its proximity to restaurants. On arrival check in was swift, efficient and, after a welcome drink, we were taken to our first floor apartment (just across he road from the main hotel complex). We were given assistance with our cases and provided with information on air conditioning, safe and free pool towels. All staff were welcoming, friendly and breakfast service was extremely efficient. Good selection of hot and cold food and nothing was too much trouble. No problems getting a sunbed and the whole complex was well managed. Cleanliness was excellent with regular changing of towels and bedding by a very pleasant cleaner. There was a second hand book library and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend."

Vasia Resort and Spa, Sissi, Crete

Vasia Resort and Spa, Sissi, Crete ★★★★★

📍 Vasia Beach 1, Sisi

"This 'resort' is not as advertised nor is it in the right price bracket or star rating. What irritated me is that there was so much that was avoidable and I got the sense that it could have been so much better. The positives - the pools were clean and refreshing but I didn't see any accessible ways to get in and out for people with mobility issues. The location is good, Sissi is a lovely little seaside village with an interesting new church and some great views. At this point I would normally say "staff were polite and helpful" and the truth is that the majority were - but many were young and inexperienced, we witnessed arguments between them and were shocked when a receptionist told us that they didn't have security - a manager came out and told us that the staff member was new and didn't know but that they did have security. This was after expressing concern about worrying levels of hostile voices from the room next to us - the walls are thin. The negatives are so many that there is not enough space to mention them all. - The food was not great and was lower end food stuffs. The a la carte restaurants are to be avoided, they are worse than the buffet. others complained, some walked out. The room was very poor. We had a suite which meant that it had a separate dayroom with couches. Except they weren't, they were two single beds and when we said that we thought we would have a sitting area there they just offered to put more pillows on it! All the furnishings were old and worn and our double bed was made up using two single sheets laid across the bed so you went between them when you got in. The room had a safe, you get the key from reception and the fob has the room number on it - so if you left the key anywhere the person who found it would know which room to go to. The toilet seat was stained with red marks and the toilet brush was dirty - I could go on and on. The lifts broke down on us 3 times leaving us stuck between floors in complete darkness, on one occasion the doors opened between floors and another time it stopped a foot before the floor. When I asked about the lifts I was told "yes, this happens when we have had a power cut" - we had a few power cuts, which also resets the air con. We went all inclusive but ended up eating out and getting supplies from shops. The drinks were a mixed bag and limited. The all inclusive whisky was Ballantine's which I was OK with under the circumstances but the Vodka seemed to change. HOWEVER, the soft drinks were very bad - no diet options and the cola was some of the cheapest own brand rubbish I have ever had - spoiling anything it went into. Something I never got my head around was the glass or plastic policy. If you ordered a drink from the pool bar to have there (you can eat around the bar) it would be in a glass. If you wanted to take it to the other pool or your room it was in plastic. The result was that you had plastic in the safety of your room but glass around the top pool."

"This is more a 4-Star hotel. Rooms are well equipped but the whole environment does not breath the extra star they claim. The first days all sun bed’s already claimed in the morning, while in the welcome letter it’s requested not to do. Walking through the hotel to our room in the back, the smell of the sewer was not very nice, and was there every day, so structural problem. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you can relax."

Maritimo Beach Hotel ★★★★
"I’ve waited almost a year to write this review because I held off while my complaint with Jet2 was being investigated. Unfortunately, that process dragged on for months and left me thoroughly exhausted, but I still feel other families should know what our experience was actually like. The hotel describes itself as a beach hotel, but the nearest beach is tiny and isn’t part of the hotel at all. Anyone booking because they’re expecting a proper hotel beach should look into this carefully before travelling. The first room we were allocated was dark, dated and generally tired. The bedding was worn, the bathroom was in a poor state and one of the lights wasn’t working. Even the use of paper cups in the room added to the feeling that basic attention to detail was missing. These things might each appear relatively minor in isolation, but collectively they weren’t what I’d expect from a hotel marketed as four-star. The room was also materially different in appearance and condition from the photographs shown on Jet2’s website. The hotel manager maintained that it was the same room apart from the view, but having booked partly on the strength of those photographs, I strongly disagreed. We were eventually moved to a second room, which was marginally better. However, the shower leaked badly and flooded the bathroom floor every day. Our young son slipped on the wet floor, turning what might otherwise have been dismissed as an inconvenience into a genuine safety concern. We were also uncomfortable with the room-door security. Every night, we moved furniture in front of the door so we would hear if our toddler woke and attempted to leave the room. That isn’t something any parent should feel they need to do while staying in a supposed four-star family hotel. The hotel offered to move us for a second time, but we were only there for seven nights and, with a toddler, packing everything up and moving rooms yet again simply wasn’t practical. They also offered us a complimentary lunch at the pool bar in an effort to make amends, which I do acknowledge. The buffet food was another major disappointment. It was poor quality, repetitive and lacked the variety I’d expect from a four-star hotel. I was particularly surprised by how little Greek-style food appeared to be available. I appreciate that catering for large numbers of guests is difficult, but that’s part of operating a large four-star hotel, and the food should still have been of a much better standard. We ended up eating elsewhere at our own expense despite having booked half board. There were some positives. The pool areas and gardens were immaculate, and we never struggled to find a sunbed. Most of the restaurant staff were also lovely. Staff service was inconsistent, though, and one man on reception was particularly rude and aloof at a time when we were already trying to resolve problems with our accommodation. Most concerningly, we were told by hotel staff that guests booking through Jet2 weren’t all"

"Lovely relaxing stay here We had a two floor room which was clean - some areas of the bathroom needed attention and the bed was two put together but not fixed. The private tub was nice but got little sun in the patio area. Definitely a great place for a chill holiday and staff are fab! Great location to be away from the resort but near enough to all amenities. Only downside is flights home are often late in the day/night and the price to keep room in my opinion is steep. Great restaurants in the area"

Angela Suites Boutique Hotel ★★★★★
"Had a short 7 day visit with family but would have been happy to stay longer. Rooms large with everthing in the rooms. Great air con. Spotless and well cleaned with lovely maids. Staff were superb from hotel reception to all of the staff at breakfast who were very attentive. Their was a young grump of bar man in the evenings who was difficult but you always get one. The suites are in great location for shops, bars etc. Supermarkets close by ( left out of hotel, then turn right and walk past the large church which takes you to one of main streets ) I prefered the smaller supermarket , on the right at end of street which was much cheaper and friendly. Beach is short walk if you turn right out of hotel, tricky to find but put google maps on. Pool area nice and no problem getting a bed. Prices ok but food is good and you dont have to leave sunbed except to order, All in all a great stay and we would book here again without hesitation ."

"I concur with previous reviews the hotel is clean, lovely pool area, good selection at breakfast, quiet at night and within easy striking distance of the village centre. However what I feel I must warn you of is the TOURIST TAX which people have been paying for last few years, this tax is now labelled some EU climate tax and is based on hotel rating and this new tax commenced this year. This hotel is rated by Jet2 as a 3 star and I would agree it is a good 3 star however the hotel rates itself as a 5 star, within 200 yards towards the sea front are a 4 star and two 5 stars with swim up pools to the rooms etc and if you look at them you will see the obvious differences to Angela hotel. Because Angela hotel rates itself as a 5 star the tourist tax is based on this and because of this you pay the highest tier of tax, that is 10 euros per room per night, so a week is 70 euros and two weeks 140 euros collected at check out so make sure you budget for that, how much gets to the Greek tax man who knows as they may tell him that it is a 3 star. Had this been a 3 star as rated by Jet2 the tax would have been 3 euros per room per night so 21 euros a week, a marked difference. So remember if you intend coming here, especially if as a family you have more than one room remember to factor in this cost."

"The hotel in itself was clean enough and staff were always polite and welcoming. That said, there were 2 occasions where our rooms were not cleaned properly and toilet roll was not replaced. The hotel itself could do with a bit of TLC and smartening up. There are 2 pool areas and despite advertising that sunbeds are not to be reserved, unless you are there with your towels by 8am, you have little hope of getting a sunbed. The pool with the slides was constantly very murky and had a green tinge to it which put us off swimming in there. It is also very cramped around the pool with little room to be able to walk around. This was a problem as the only way we could access our rooms was to walk around the pool and through the sunbeds. It is advertised as quiet but that is definitely not the case. The gym was well equipped but sadly not air conditioned so it was impossible to really use due to the heat. Food was standard for an all inclusive and there was always plenty of choice as well as the option to use the A la carte once during our stay which was very nice. In my view, definitely not 5 star more like 3 and at a push 4. Sissi itself is a small traditional village and had lots of bars and tavernas. The ‘beach’ is not an actual beach - it is rocks and the part nearest the hotel would not be safe to swim. A short walk to the harbour where it is lovely to swim but still rocky so not a traditional beach. Boufos Bay is about a 15 min walk and is sandy with sunbeds but very rough seas some day. I think the hotel would be ok for families who are happy to sit around a noisy pool all day but it wasn’t for us. Definitely recommend watching the sunset from the harbour."
