Fabulous warm traditional style Icelandic building with modern amenities, beautiful restoration, quiet great location near restaurants. Has a surprise hot tub in the back garden to soak in. We really enjoyed the stay. Very helpful staff

We were on the 2nd floor of the annex, which required carrying our luggage up steep steps. The room itself had a lovely front view of the water and was quite spacious with a sitting room. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, the tv and WiFi worked perfectly and there was an easy to use espresso machine in the room as well as a selection of teas. The bathroom was an odd layout, very narrow with the shower tucked in the corner and a step up to get into. Anyone not fit would have a hard time getting in I believe. We didn’t use the geothermal hot bath as it wasn’t hot enough for us, but the location is perfect as it’s just a quick walk from the room. We ate dinner in the basement restaurant and it was a lovely experience with a terrific meal. Breakfast was also very good, having the usual Icelandic assortment. As someone sensitive to smells, I was irritated by the overuse of air fresheners. The smell in reception made me sneeze, and the one right outside our room was so overpowering I had to relocate it. I began noticing them everywhere and realize they must be in use to mask something less pleasant. The strong scent was far too overwhelming for me though.

Charming is the perfect word to describe this wonderful hotel. Sometimes charming is a bad thing, but in this case charming included all the modern conveniences, except a mini refrigerator. There is not much to do in this town, but the hotel room was worth the stay. We loved the swan and elephant towel sculptures as well. The only reason a 5-star review was not given is that anyone with a physical disability will have difficulty with the steep stairs inside and outside the hotel. Otherwise, the stay was fantastic.

This hotel is charming and visually appealing. Starting with the positives: the hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the pillows are excellent. We had breakfast there, which was good, and I loved the restaurant’s decor. However, there are some downsides. The hotel is expensive, there aren’t enough parking spaces, and the door to our room had a very stiff lock, which might need fixing. But the biggest issue was the smell inside the room. While the corridors had no noticeable odor, the room itself had a strong, mold-like smell, though I didn’t see any visible signs of mold.

Hotel is in a renovated old building which has a nice vintage feel with modern amenities. Nice breakfast in what I think used to be a bar 100 years ago, great decoration and the big plus is the pool outside with included bathrobes! Close to dining places just by walking.

Hotel muy bonito, conserva su estructura antigua de madera, en la zona central del pueblo, con un jacuzzi de agua caliente en el exterior que hay que probar, restaurante bonito con buenos platos y unas camareras encantadoras. para volver.

Nicely decorated old house (we were staying in the main building) with well-functioning everything (friendly and welcoming staff, decent décor, nice toiletries, well-stocked coffee station in the room, WIFI, clean but a little bit too dark rooms with a few nice historic features). We had a snack in the restaurant in the evening, and we did have breakfast - both went well, I would perhaps consider adding local cheese for breakfast (would definitely make hotel standout compared to the competitors). This is one of the oldest houses in the country, so please be aware that it's not as sound-proof, as one might've wanted (but there are earplugs for light sleepers). The sink in the bathroom was a little bit worn off and shall be lined up for a replacement. You will need to take stairs - it's an old building, there's no elevator (and I didn't dislike it - just a thing to keep in mind when making a reservation).
