We have been to the Amira 3 times now and will never stay anywhere else when visiting Skiathos. We have been visiting the island now for around 20 years staying in various hotels including 5 star and none match up to the Amira. The staff are amazing we cannot praise everyone from the welcome smile and check in with Eva to the brilliant service by the girls at breakfast they honestly cannot do enough for you nothing is too much trouble. Our cleaner Mira was so friendly we loved her and she kept our room spotless. The lovely lady owner and Costas have always been so kind and they have allocated our favourite Room 105 to us every year as they know how much we love it, it is such a beautiful room with gorgeous private pool which we used every day and also has great views of the aeroplanes coming and going which my husband loves to see. Breakfast and a always so good with lots of choice and the food provided later in the day is such great quality with big portions and such good value. I honestly could go on but this hotel would be the best hotel on the island to stay in when visiting. As for the hill … I am 67 and not particularly fit and I managed it every day sometimes twice a day and it was no problem for me so please don’t let this put you off. This hotel is 5 star+++++ (Shirley & Roy- Room 105)

Excellent stay at a quality hotel. We were in room 103, which had its own pool like all ground floor rooms. The room itself was large and had everything you would need. Bed large and comfortable. Good AC . The room was cleaned daily and to a very high standard by our always cheery and busy cleaner Mira. The private pool was big enough for 2 and a good temperature for a refreshing dip with an amazing view. Breakfast was good too with plenty to choose from and served till 1030. Happy Hour at the bar is 1700-2000 and the cocktails are 7 euros. They are lovely and well prepared by the hard working bar staff. The infinity pool looked nice but we never used it. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas for all. It was one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. Eva at reception is there all day and will sort out anything you need . The check in with her was quick and efficient . She always had a smile and like all staff clearly wanted everyone to enjoy their stay at Amira. As the hotel was not at full capacity she sorted us out with another room for a late check out which was much appreciated . In short we would give the hotel and it's staff full marks, we genuinely do not have any negative comments! The hill to and from the centre is steep but not too problematic. There is a lovely bakery and a couple of supermarkets within easy walking distance. Huge selection of bars/ tavernas/ restaurants about 15 min walk away. Lovely ambience about the town. We never had a bad experience with food or drink. Loads of choice for local boat trips at the port. We both loved Skiathos and our stay at Amira and would love to return. If you have booked you are in for a treat! The ginger and white cat is still there and is very affectionate if you want to show it attention. There is now also a small kitten and black and white cat who are both very timid. If you don't like cats, if you ignore them they won't bother you. We can't wait to return!

Excellent small family run hotel. Great location great staff. We were in room 104 with it's own private pool. All rooms have a great view over skiathos town. The hill to the hotel is a bit steep but gets easier as the week goes on. Would definitely stay here again but would go out of the main weeks as the town was packed in the evenings.

The steep hill to get to the hotel absolutely ruined our holiday. This should be made clear on the hotels website. Cars have to go into first gear to get up the hill! Hotels air conditioning failed on the hottest night no communication given by hotel staff or apology.

On our first day at the hotel we realised that climbing the hill would be difficult due to a old hip injury. We requested a move to any hotel on the Island but TUI could not accommodate. The climb is not mentioned on TUI site absolutely ruined our holiday. Complaint made to TUI still awaiting a response.

We stayed at the hotel for 7 days in Aug 2023. On first impression where good… but sadly our room 301 was very small and quality not to dissimilar to a Premier Inn in the UK, there is no dressing table with mirror and the hairdryer is useless ( in the bathroom) we did also have to ask for the use of iron as there wasn’t one in the room… this problem was swiftly resolved. We did request the room cleaned everyday and restocked which it was to a very high standard… well done to the Maids. Breakfast… 🤔 hmmm not a great deal of choice… and the very small selection of hot food (3 choices every day) which was rotated was only ever lukewarm!once the food was gone it was never replenished. The Hill!!!! omg it’s hard work… we even help a local young lady push her baby in the pram one day as she to was struggling!! There’s no way of avoiding the hill and at the end of the seven day stay at the hotel we are pleased that we don’t have to broach the AGAIN! Staff /Maids where always nice and very helpful… especially the young guy in the bar … he made excellent cocktails! We did use the Seajets Ferries and made visits to Skopelos & Alonissos which for us where beautiful… sadly we didn’t fall in love with Skiathos or the Town … very commercial and lost the feel for old Greece… sadly we will not return to the hotel/ hill/ Skiathos

The hotel itself was spotless. Our room (305) was on the top floor with two balconies! The bathroom was open plan from the bedroom which we weren't keen on for two reasons, firstly there were no window coverings on the bathroom window which meant that as the sun rose in the morning it lit up the whole bedroom and secondly it left you with little privacy which personally I don't like. The bar staff were lovely, teaching us the Greek language on an evening and generally having a laugh with us. The hotel was lovely and peaceful with a great infinity pool and yet only a few minutes walk from the vibrant Skiathos town centre. Unfortunately the walk involves a hill that is downwards from the hotel but very steep on the way back! 😮. My girlfriend has a gluton allergy and every morning at breakfast one of the staff brought her gluton free bread which was a nice touch. We've travelled to several Greek islands now and out of all of them this is the island and the hotel that we would most likely return to.

We have just returned home after an amazing 2 weeks stay at the Amira. We got married in the first week and had the following week as our honeymoon. The staff and hotel are amazing, they can’t do enough for you and the breakfast is lovely, with plenty to choose from. We had a ground floor room (105) with our own infinity pool which was just beautiful. We would highly recommend the Amira (for anyone who struggles to walk you may wish to hire a car as it’s quite a hill up to the hotel) we would certainly recommend and would love to return in the future. We stayed at Amira for ten nights and are so glad we chose this hotel. We booked through Tui and due to the hill that the hotel is on, Tui give you a private car transfer there as the usual coach which you would get for the transfer can't get up it. On arrival at the hotel we were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly while we sat and admired our surroundings. The hotel is amazing, all modern and well furnished. It is evident the staff take pride in the hotels appearance- no scuffs on walls etc, everywhere always clean and tidy. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool which has stunning views of the Old Port and the sea. There are always ample sunbeds and parasols. The pool towels, which you can get from behind the bar area, are fresh, clean and don't look worn. You just drop them into a basket at the end of the day and collect fresh ones the next morning. Breakfast was always delicious with plenty of options to suit everyone. The hotel serves food until 8pm. We regularly had lunch at the hotel and the food was always delicious. Portions are big so good value for money. They also have happy hour on cocktails 5pm-8pm- all the cocktails were lovely! All the waiting staff, Dimitris, Stavroula, Anna, and Joanna were amazing- you couldn't ask for better. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and they are all friendly and welcoming. They really do work hard and I hope they get recognition for this! The cleaners also do a brilliant job and always say hello. Unfortunately the receptionist let's it down a little. She was really unapproachable and just seemed like she didn't want to be there. Maybe hospitality isn't for her... The female owner of the hotel could often be seen checking in with her staff, she was lovely and it's evident she takes pride in this hotel. Amira is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Skiathos!
