We stayed at Amira for ten nights and are so glad we chose this hotel. We booked through Tui and due to the hill that the hotel is on, Tui give you a private car transfer there as the usual coach which you would get for the transfer can't get up it. On arrival at the hotel we were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly while we sat and admired our surroundings. The hotel is amazing, all modern and well furnished. It is evident the staff take pride in the hotels appearance- no scuffs on walls etc, everywhere always clean and tidy. The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool which has stunning views of the Old Port and the sea. There are always ample sunbeds and parasols. The pool towels, which you can get from behind the bar area, are fresh, clean and don't look worn. You just drop them into a basket at the end of the day and collect fresh ones the next morning. Breakfast was always delicious with plenty of options to suit everyone. The hotel serves food until 8pm. We regularly had lunch at the hotel and the food was always delicious. Portions are big so good value for money. They also have happy hour on cocktails 5pm-8pm- all the cocktails were lovely! All the waiting staff, Dimitris, Stavroula, Anna, and Joanna were amazing- you couldn't ask for better. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and they are all friendly and welcoming. They really do work hard and I hope they get recognition for this! The cleaners also do a brilliant job and always say hello. Unfortunately the receptionist let's it down a little. She was really unapproachable and just seemed like she didn't want to be there. Maybe hospitality isn't for her... The female owner of the hotel could often be seen checking in with her staff, she was lovely and it's evident she takes pride in this hotel. Amira is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Skiathos!
