Kivo Art & Gourmet Hotel

The location of the hotel is wonderful, located in the upper part of Skiathos with a panoramic view of the sea. However, the hotel is absolutely not worth it when the position it has. We arrived in the morning and they told us that we had to wait until 3 pm to get the room (we had never been warned about this); at 3 pm the room was not ready anyway and it was delivered to us an hour (if not more) late and without apologies. The main problem of the room was the lack of cleaning, which never improved during the whole stay; there were cats of dust on the ground and obvious dirt. In the room there were several broken things and little maintenance .. for example the iron grate for draining the water in the bathroom broke when you just walked over it, the commode lamp was broken, the blackout curtain on the French window was detached for one part and the French door itself was broken; the bathroom door didn't close and all the taps had a lot of limescale. The beds are really run down and the room decor leaves something to be desired. The minibar was a fridge with two small bottles of water that was never replenished. The air conditioner is very noisy; the socket at the bedside was not working. The staff was unprofessional not worthy of a 4 star hotel. Furthermore, on the last day we were not considered in the slightest and served at breakfast, despite having pointed out that within less than an hour we had the bus to go to the airport. It's really a shame to waste such a location that should be enhanced with a service that is up to par.

We booked a room in a 4-star hotel through Alpitour for our honeymoon, we were really disappointed with the service and the room we were assigned (there are hostels in South America with rooms 10 times better). Old room with rust in several parts and a broken electrical outlet coming out of the wall, bathroom with tub in which all the silicone had come off and many other details that if you're being ironic would make you laugh out loud. ATTENTION THE RECEPTION IS NOT 24/24, we arrived at 07:00 and we waited an hour and a half to speak with the "recepsionist / concierge / breakfast waitress". I could go on with many more details but be warned if they give you a juice in a half filled glass bottle don't worry no one drank the other half but it's the "hotel" policy :). We asked for a room change which was denied to us because it was "always too much", contacted Alpitour who treated us almost like fish in the face and wanted to make us pay a penalty for changing hotels, we reiterated that we only wanted a place that was worth what we had paid. Alpitour really shameful, we contacted our travel agency who solved the problem immediately at no cost by giving us a room in a real 4-star hotel.

It is a shame for such a hotel to have the misfortune of dealing with such poor service. It is to be upset with something like this. And how else, when we are talking about a hotel with perhaps one of the best cuisines and an excellent view. Yet when I was there, all his visitors were not only displeased but enraged. Especially the Italians who thought they came to a four-star hotel and instead begged to eat breakfast and waited over an hour and a half to be served their dinner, which may be excellent in taste and execution but no one can wait for always. Especially when both breakfast and dinner are booked at a specific time. In fact, at dinner, the tables do not exceed 6-7. So poor service is purely due to poor management. After all this, the fact that the TV did not change channels, that one day no one cleaned the toilet bowl, or that rotten fruit was served at breakfast with the ironic remark of the chef the other day that ripe(!!!) fruit is the better for jam, which directly offends basic logic and dignity, come second. I felt more sorry for a father with his two children who begged in vain for an hour and a half for the pasta he ordered for his children to finally come out. Shame! I definitely wouldn't go back and I don't recommend it, although the pool area and the view are fantastic. But what to do with such insolence and indifference on the part of the staff? Avoid it to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Booked last minute with Alpitour, we had no problem with transfers to and from the airport hotel, the Alpitour contact person Michele was kind and helpful, for the hotel a really beautiful view!! the structure is pleasant, the staff polite, helpful, we arrived at 12.30, since the room was ready for 3 pm, while waiting we were offered a juice, and we could change and use the swimming pool while waiting for the room, we asked x to rent a car and within an hour our car was already at the hotel, discreet cleaning. x as regards the rooms, ours with a side sea view with a more than pleasant view, certainly it was not a suite but not a room either from 1 star hotel!! , of course there would be some improvement work to be done especially in the bathroom ..., arrange a drying rack in the rooms, make sure that in the room there is all that is described in the presentation, the breakfast was not a buffet, we were served by them , good but a bit monotonous, maybe trying to change could be a plus. So overall from 1 to 10 we give Kivo a 7.5. Greetings Ferrari Stefano and Rossella

Usual story of overbooking, despite the fact that we had made sure through alpitour that the rooms booked in June were there. Total rudeness and discouragement. How disgusting . Don't come here. Because alpitur has washed his hands of it and the manager worse than them.

Εξαιρετική τοποθεσία του, φιλική εξυπηρέτηση, φανταστικός ο Σεφ Σοφοκλής Μουρατίδης. Όλα όσα μας σέρβιρε εξαιρετικά πιάτα με αυτό που ξεχώρισε το ταρτάρ θαλασσινών και φιλέτο μαγιάτικου. Πολύ ωραία η πισίνα και ακόμη πιο ωραία η σουίτα με την ιδιωτική της πισίνα. Μπράβο στη Ματούλα!
