The first stop to stay in the UK, not too far from the airport, suitable for driving. I arrived late and there was no front desk reception. There were guest rooms on both sides of the road and free parking spaces in the courtyard. Breakfast is a traditional English breakfast. There is a supermarket nearby. No merit, no fault.

Basic hotel as expected but night porter who let me in was very helpful and professional. Good secure parking ~ welll lit but tight spaces to get into. Room was very basic, marks on wall by bed, no bath mat, furnishings tired, generally felt a bit run down. Room was right on the road with lots of traffic noise and people shouting outside (I would not go out at night here). Breakfast was across the road - breakfast room smelt of cooking and smoke which got into my clothes, but the cooked breakfast was lovely and served very quickly, really enjoyed.

Despite making life difficult during my trip as work stresses spilled over into my stay, the staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how my stay was going every time I walked in the door. They also were able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well. Exceptional service. Exceptional environment, clean and always tidy.

Excellent customer service. VERY clean and regularly maintained. Plenty parking. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. London 30 mins away by train. Bus stop directly outside accommodation. Convenience store directly adjacent. Will absolutely return

With last minute travel plans, we found AJ Lodge Guesthouse convenient and reasonably priced. With low expectations set in the initial stages, we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The staff were amazing and hospitable and the rooms were very comfortable! If all goes well with our work we will be travelling a few times and look forward to staying at the Guesthouse! 3 of us (my wife, teenage son and I) stayed the night before a Heathrow flight. Great value for money: clean room, decent breakfast (included in room price) and friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend if you need to spend a night or two just west of London!
