You will not be disappointed with the overall experience at this resort. It is HUGE and there is no shortage of things to see and do. Expect to get plenty of steps in, just getting around the resort. I averaged 17,000-20,000 steps per day! The pools are awesome (we liked the quiet pool, closest to the beach). The staff are AWESOME! Everyone is so friendly. Grounds are beautiful. Food is mostly good. Pretty typical of a giant Mexican all inclusive. Our favourite restaurant was the Japanese restaurant where they did the teppanyaki show. The Mexican restaurant was also very good. Room service menu was just terrible, and the food was bad. You can book restaurant reservations on the app, but we did find it pretty finicky and a little challenging to use. You can book through the concierge as well. The buffet is a typical buffet, but we did enjoy breakfasts there. We also liked the burger place and taco place in the shopping centre. There is lots of wildlife to be seen, and the resort is very lush and "jungly". The beach is white and beautiful, and there was only a bit of sea**** one day we were there. The water is quite clear and turquoise, though we didn't actually swim in the ocean, but others were. I would say the main negatives would be the rooms (very dated, dark, small) HOWEVER they were clean, our housekeeper was awesome! I did not catch his name but he was cleaning rooms 5283 and 5284 during April 1-8, and he was the nicest guy and did such a great job! Another negative was the annoying chair saving tactics from rude guests who wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve chairs they won't use for hours, limiting the rest of us from finding a seat. We were there during Easter week and it was insanely busy, but people seemed to leave by the weekend and we did eventually find pool chairs on day 5. I wish they would crack down on the chair saving, because that really did put a damper on our vacation. One other thing is that they try and hook you for time share pitches, and after a couple times of almost being tricked into it, we found ourselves trying to avoid any staff we didnt recognize. Not fun trying to avoid people, and we don't like to be rude to the employees, but it was annoying. Besides our excellent housekeeper, we did have great service from several other people during the week. We ended up at the sports bar every night (Canadians who didn't want to miss hockey!) and the staff there were sooo great. They worked so hard and were super attentive, we just loved it there! Huge thank you to Vianey and Lucy, who made our time extra special. And Jose, Benny, Pablo, and Delil at check in and check out. We would 100% come back here to see all these people again.
