The staff's exceptional treatment made our experience truly memorable. Special kudos to the remarkable team at El Gaucho—Amayde Cruz, Ingrid Martinez, and our outstanding waiter, who we unfortunately did not get the name of, along with Fernanda Pichardo. Rosa from Villa 70 treated us to 5 star treatment, cleaning our room and doing turn down service everyday with the highest quality. Our butlers (Emilio, Estefanía and Daniel) were also really phenomenal! The resort surprised us with a lavish dinner on our last evening, making us feel like royalty. The tranquil and peaceful atmosphere added to the perfection of our stay. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a luxurious getaway! Thank you to the whole TRS team for the most spectacular time and making us feel like royalty every single day!"

"We booked this hotel expecting a genuine luxury experience, but unfortunately it fell well below expectations in several key areas. We have stayed multiple times in similar family hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean, there are much better options than this hotel. The biggest frustration was the level of misinformation provided before and during our stay. We repeatedly received conflicting information from different members of staff, making what should have been a relaxing holiday unnecessarily stressful. The virtual ambassador just doesnt work. There is no correlation or alignment between reception, Spa, virtual ambassador and reception. Reception service was another major disappointment. On several occasions, staff appeared uninterested in resolving issues, and communication was poor throughout our stay. Rather than feeling welcomed and valued as guests, we often felt like we were inconveniencing the team by asking for assistance. The dinner restaurant process was chaotic and frustrating. Securing tables at the restaurants was far more difficult than it should have been, with inconsistent information from staff. For a luxury resort, this process needs significant improvement. Perhaps the most unacceptable issue was that we had no Wi-Fi in our room for the entire 12-night stay. Despite reporting it multiple times, the problem was never resolved. In today’s world, reliable internet is an expected basic service, particularly at a premium-priced hotel, and the complete lack of resolution was extremely disappointing. At least we were offered a basket of fruit as compensation. To make matters worse, the air conditioning leaked throughout our stay. Again, this was reported but never properly fixed, leaving us feeling that maintenance requests were simply not a priority. The handling of guest complaints was equally poor. Communication regarding dispute resolution was slow, unclear and ultimately ineffective. There was little evidence that anyone took ownership of resolving our concerns. Carlos the manager ultimately had to get involved after 4 days, he was polite but offered no resolution. Finally, the departure experience summed up the stay perfectly. The exit service was abrupt, with no interest shown in the issues we had experienced or any attempt to leave guests with a positive final impression. We were informed upon booing services such as Spa, excursions etc that we could settle the bill in cash upon leaving. Upon checkout we were informed this was a cashless hotel, despite being able to pay in cash at the shop, juice bar and tips. That said, there were several positives that deserve recognition. Aldo was exceptional and consistently provided outstanding customer service, standing out as one of the few members of staff who genuinely cared about guests. "On the morning of November 14th, I left the Maya Riviera Hotel. Upon checking out, I discovered that approximately $300 was missing from my wallet. Here's what happened: I took a taxi to the hotel and paid the fare in US dollars, so I remembered having several hundred dollars in my wallet. The hotel was all-inclusive, so I didn't make any cash purchases during my stay. When I left the hotel to go to the airport that morning, I wanted to have US dollars in cash ready beforehand, but when I opened my wallet, I found I only had thirty dollars left. During my stay, my wallet was in my bag, which was on the table in my hotel room. Only the housekeeping staff could enter my room and take the dollars from my wallet. Because I had to catch my flight that morning, I didn't have time to report it to the police after noticing the incident with the hotel staff. It's important to be careful with your belongings and personal safety when traveling to Mexico."
