Marhaba Royal Salem - Family Only

Not a 4 star in the slightest ! 2 even at a huge push ! Was told on arrival we had been upgraded from our ground floor garden view to a 5th floor room …. The block hasn’t been looked at since the 80s and it’s in desperate need or refurbishment ! Tiles all cracked and grouted over , furniture outside so rusty I wouldn’t dare sit on them , marks on walls , dirty rug on floor . We were moved to a better room on the ground floor which was in a better state … then there were the people up at 5.30 am to drag their loungers out because obviously they’re ready to catch some rays at 5.30am !!!!! Food was the worst we have ever had , very little choice and same thing every meal ! Drinks were from bottles and so flat and only one diet drink (diabetic) so was very tiresome ! Not big drinkers but only one type of beer on offer . Staff are helpful and hotel is cleaned daily (apart from the raw sewage smell every day)!! Don’t expect anyone to Que or take turns unless you’re British …. Hotel is 90% German/french and I feel the food is aimed towards their tastes nothing authentic or seasoned !! Nothing outside of hotel (one good shop) but no bars or restaurants that you could eat in either ! Shortage of sun loungers means you’re up earlier than you’d like on your jollies to to grab a bed !! P.s they have a nightclub in the centre of the resort and don’t like to turn the base down which is very annoying if you’d prefer to get some rest !! Also plays some very loud and questionable music around the pool I.e Nicki Minage super freak …. Around the kids 👀!!! Afternoon snack …. Cheese pizza or pancakes and that’s your lot !! For the price we paid I would expect so much more on offer !! First and last trip to Tunisia I’m afraid this resort and area has put me off returning !!

Brilliant hotel. Good location. Helpful staff. Would recommend. Places on site if you want peace and quite. Or areas for socialising. Different sorts of entertainment. Beach bar pizza is so fresh. Rym the receptionist has a very understanding of English and very helpful 👍. Their is a beauty parlour on site seemed to do a good job on most things. Used them for 💅 impressive. We had a good size room. And a big thank you to Answer the waiter for Brilliant 👏 service.

Clean hotel, cleaning staff for room are amazing and work so hard also the ladies who clean the toilets near the beach bar/pool don’t stop (they deserve an award), really engaging animation team who help you have fun and make the most of your time, without being too pushy. Beach towel hire service left a bit to be desired, the hut was never open when it was supposed to be and when it was open often had no towels. This was super frustrating. Thanks for a great Holiday.

Simply outstanding,I could write all day about this hotel but I think these two words sum it up ,food drinks amazing but nothing tops the staff every single one of them are sensational,in fact we enjoyed it so much we are coming again in aug . Thanks so much Royal Salem

Stayed for 10 nights April/May. On checking in we had a long walk to our room which was outside the hotel, basic room with patio overlooking the grounds. We headed for lunch which was a long walk, especially for my husband who has mobility issues. After lunch we went back to reception to request a room change, the porter who'd taken us to our room spotted us and asked was there a problem. On telling him the situation he sorted another room for us in the hotel nearest the beach, wow room was so much better and nearer to all facilities. Had a ground floor room overlooking the pool Rm 146. Our cleaner was excellent always friendly and left the room spotless. Towels changed every day if wanted and bedding changed every few days. Everything after was perfect. Food from breakfast to dinner, so much choice, you would have to be a picky eater not to find something. Drinks were very good. All staff we came across were always smiling and helpful. The beach was outstanding, never had a problem finding a sun lounger always staff there to help you. The snack bar opened serving food after we'd been there a couple of days. Food/drinks good and a lot of choice, staff here brilliant. Although a big complex, 3 hotels on site our position couldn't have been better, well kept gardens and all areas litter free. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend

Hotel was great, this is the second time myself and my friend have stayed here. The hotel itself is ever clean and the maids and maintenance work very hard to keep it at a high standard. Food is good. Animation team work really hard and try to involved everybody, special mention to Sam who made our stay very enjoyable. Will definitely return soon :)
