Splendida Palace

We enjoyed our three-night stay at the Splendida Palace from May 28-30. Our room was quite large, very clean, quite comfortable with a great shower. There is a nice small pool and outdoor seating area and the breakfast was very nice -- including made to order egg, omelet and crepe dishes. It's about a 7 minute walk to the Old Town and about a 10 minute walk to the ferries that go to Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik so it is very convenient. It is difficult to drive to the hotel because of the narrowness of the streets; if you do drive there ask Maria or whoever is working the desk to unchain the small temporary parking area near the hotel.

Maraja greeted us when we arrived at the hotel. She was so kind and thoughtful to us and she went out of her way to make our visit to Split Croatia amazing. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was plentiful and pool was great after a day sightseeing. I would highly recommend staying at the Splendida Palace.

We spent three nights at Splendida Palace which is located on a quiet street a short walk from the Old City and the Ferry port (easy enough to walk with luggage). We arrived by car which was a bit stressful because the streets are narrow and confusing but Marie from the front desk came out to move our car to a safe spot so that we could unload our luggage and check in and she carried our bags herself to our room. The pool is small but good to cool off in after a hot day in Split. The breakfast is amazing, one of the best from our two-week trip in Croatia. We had a beautiful large room but the friends we were traveling with said their room was tiny so you may want to ask about that when you make a reservation. The hotel was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Maria served us complementary Croatian wine when we arrived and again when we mentioned how much we liked it. She was so sweet and helpful throughout our stay. We thought her restaurant suggestions were expensive. After eating at one our first night, we found a food festival which we preferred just outside the old city walls (east side, not the water side) where young people were gathered for some delicious and inexpensive local food and drinks (not sure if it's there all the time or not).

Reading the reviews we knew we had picked a great hotel but, if possible, the reviews do not do the experience justice. The breakfast was amazing as was the welcome, the staff and the quiet location. Don't pick if you want room service and a big pool but absolutely go for it if you want to relax and be looked after by Maria and her team. Already planning a future return to Croatia and if we do Split again this hotel will be our first choice

Amazing find in Split. Little hotel in the old town. Large room very clean and beautifully presented. The manager welcomes with a smile and a cherry liquor. Sets the vacation up with a map setting out her recommendations. Make sure you take note of the superb restaurent recommendations. Breakfast is generous There is a little pool in the hotel courtyard too. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel right near the old city. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing - lots of variety and all was delicious. The best part however was Maria, the Manager. She was so helpful and made sure that everything was perfect for us.

I can not rate this hotel any higher . It was absolutely amazing . I emailed the hotel to say that I would be arriving and checking in late after a long day travelling long haul . Marija emailed back to say that she would stay late to check me in as they usually stop checkin earlier. The driver ( I would recommend for 45 euros ) that the hotel sent to the airport made my journey so easy. The welcome , the room and the breakfast all five star plus . I only wish I was staying more than one night . Thank you.
