When we arrived we were told even though we had a reservation they did not have a room for us. Called the hotel they were supposed to be sending their overflow to. They would not take us either. A room was somehow found for us; which we were thankful for. However the hotel was absolutely freezing! We were on floor 1 right by the side exit which because of the negative temperatures and wind outside the door did not shut. My guess would be no more than 50 degrees inside. Then as we were eating breakfast the fire alarms went off. We just packed and left at that point. Might have had a better stay in warmer weather but I do not recommend this hotel during the colder months due to lack of heat.

We stayed here the night before the eclipse-4/7/24. We came from Rockford, and due to the price gouging going on, Springfield was the closest we could get to Carbondale without paying ridiculous prices.The man at the front desk (I think his name was Anthony) remembered us from 6 years ago when we stayed one night! Double queens were booked, so we got a king with sofa bed, which was fine, I knew they were probably booked solid. I asked for bedding for the sofa bed, and got it within minutes. Anthony and the rest of the staff really know how to treat people. We were treated like they wanted us there, and everyone had a smile. The hotel is very clean, and I couldn't believe how comfortable my bed was. I slept soundly through the night and I never do that at hotels. Never! I'm usually up every half hour, flipping from side to side, in pain. This is definitely where we will stay when we drive down again.

For the city of Carbondale, this is a great location and property. The room was good and clean, along with the breakfast that comes with your room. The location is smack darn center of Carbondale, across from the Paul Simon, Federal building.

This is a convenient hotel when traveling. There are many restaurants nearby. The staff is friendly. The general condition is worn and dirty in the public spaces.
