Good location, and the restaurant is OK (mediocre food but balanced out bygreat staff). Good wheelchair access. But poor in many other ways... Firstly, housekeeping is TERRIBLE! I didn't have my room cleaned at any point in a 2 night stay - I had one cleaner barge in late one afternoon just as I started to get ready to go out for the evening and she seemed like SHE was the one being inconvenienced because I wasn't going to get out of my room right then! There's no mattress protector on the mattress. Despite what it said on my confirmation email, there is no alarm clock with USB ports. I had to go down to reception, so they'd send someone up to my room, to put a plug adaptor on the power socket the telephone was using, so I could plug my own USB adaptor into that... Also, the room had no overhead lights, just bed-side lamps (making the whole dark and feeling all dingy). Also, despite my room being intended for wheelchair users, it had an extremely thick carpet, so getting anywhere (even. say, from the bed to the bathroom) VERY slow and exhausting... Breakfast is also not good. Very limited selection - mostly deep fried stuff with some bagels and doughnuts. Not much else (no cold meats or cheese, for example). - Wasn't told by anyone at check-in when or where breakfast was the next morning (just guess and hope you guessed right). There's no 'do not disturb' for the door, which, combined with the laxadaisical 'barge in whenever you feel like it' attitude of housekeeping, can make for a rather stressful stay. There is a dead-lock on the door, but isn't a fire hazard? Bizarrely, the plug has been removed from the sink (although the sink did have overflow holes anyway) - so, even just washing your hands, you waste A LOT of water, and the only way to wash your face properly is to have a shower! There are disposable paper cups for coffee, which, though better than disposable plastic cups, obviously not as good for the environment as proper reusable cups. But, I suppose you'd need decent housekeeping for that to be sanitary... Unfortunately, though, there's almost NO alternative (when I went, there was ONE alternative!). It's a shame, because with a few minor tweaks, and better staffing levels, this could be a great hotel, and I'm sure it once was (it's tower dominates the skyline in Springfield)...
