Hampton Inn & Suites Springfield-Southwest

The room was very clean and well-maintained, and I had a comfortable stay. I would stay here again.

Booked 2 nights. For room 137, woke up the first morning to see ants all over the place. Requested to get a refund from the second night and was told no because I took the "no refund" option when booking. They did offer to move me to a new room however I would have to wait until the room was ready. I had to move everything back into my vehicle. 7 hours later I got a call to say they have a new room for me. I came back to the hotel and went to room 315. Upon inspection we found evidence of bed bugs. Totally disgusted with this place and left to find other accommodation. Will never stay in this place when I come back to Springfield IL. Also, room 315 smelled like mildew. Now I must fight to get a refund. Update on 7/6/26 - I was told I would receive a refund and 2 months later, nothing. I can't even get an email response

This Hampton Inn and Suites was very popular with travelers. They went out of our way to accommodate our needs. In the early evening they opened up their downstairs eatery and hosted a nice "happy hour" with snacks and treats for all the guests. That was a surprise bonus! The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Overall - a very nice experience.

Do not book here! Terrible customer service. They gave my room away and would not help me. I had a confirmation number, my credit card was charged but they s a id I didn't have a room. The front desk clerk said - what do you want me to do, build you a room! Keep in mind, I HAD PAID FOR A ROOM AND HAD A CONFIRMATION AND CREDIT CARD STATEMENT SHOWING IT WAS PAID FOR. DO NOT BOOK HERE

Pros of this hotel: - room 135 had THE quietest under- window air conditioner / heater - the hotel offers a substantive early evening nosh and drink - the staff is very welcoming - the breakfast bar had more choice s than I’ve seen at other Hampton inns - the fridge was a mid size not dorm room size Negatives: - in room 135, there was only warm and hot water in the sink - the sheets and towels were very warm - a towel had a hole! - the room was very tired/ worn

Ill start with the positives, friendly staff, clean, good breakfast choices. Easy to navigate halls and entrances felt secure. Coffee pot and minifridge in room okay. However there is one word that describes this place, BEIGE. It is very boring. Beige everything, Rooms are dark and halls are dim, very depressing, out dated vibe. There needs to be some light! And color! Nothing unique or interesting to be found. Surroundings are the same. DULL. No make up mirrors in bathroom, night stand charger only on one side. No bathroom fan (I guess its just a constant-one-fan-for-all kinda thing. We were there for two days and felt no joy or sense of adventure in that dull and depressing room. I would search for a boutique hotel of some kind, although the choices are very limited in Springfield apparently, which is why this one was recommeded to us as the best option for clean and safe. So there you go.

This Hampton Inn is the oldest one I have ever seen. The rooms and hallways are very dark. The furniture and bathrooms are outdated. I expected a certain level of quality which was sadly lacking.

The hotel had a board listing numerous nearby restaurants which was very helpful! The room was pretty clean. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
