This hotel is still in midst of renovations. The 1st floor is currently under construction. This resulted in the kickback and breakfast being served in a conference room and seating being spread out in the lobby, conference room and near an entrance door. Also, I think it may have affected food quality as items needed to be transported to the conference room and some were a bit cold. Also, the soft drink machine was not available, so 2 liter bottles were provided. There was no iced tea available. Also, there were previous reviews mentioning the elevator being out of service for an extended period of time. I asked the hotel on more than one occasion prior to arrival whether the elevator was working. When we arrived and carried in our bags, the elevator was working. However, when we returned from dinner, the elevator was out of service. The elevator was broken on another day of our visit as well. On the morning we checked out, however, it was operable thankfully. The elevator situation was a disappointment, especially when we were on the 4th floor. Also, the second time it was down, the stairwell nearest our room was also closed due to tile work on the 1st floor. So, this was an inconvenience. However, the guest room was very nice. The beds were comfortable, it was well decorated, shower pressure was good and there were lots of available outlets for charging. There was a minor issue in the shower as the sliding shower door would not stay closed. We used a washcloth in the track to keep it closed to avoid water all over the floor. Reading all the reviews of hotels in Springfield, I feel like the Drury is an excellent choice, even with some issues. Once the renovation is complete (currently estimated to be June 2024), it will be better, however, I'm not sure that the elevator issues will necessarily be resolved.
