I visit Malta frequently but this is my fist time at the Marriott and I am staying here as I write this. I don’t normally write such lengthy reviews! Serious investment has been put into the hotel building and facilities and the quality clearly reflects this, but it is the staff who clearly stand out and make the stay for guests so enjoyable. It’s not perfect, but the bar is set very high here. At a time where the hospitality Industry is having recruitment issues it makes the level of service even more impressive. The staff everywhere are incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. Their recruitment and staff development/ training and retention model obviously works extremely well. The only negative issue I had in the whole visit was not caused by the hotel, but by a ‘chocolate ice cream’ incident late one night on the main terrace. I felt for the staff as they clearly aim for the highest of standards and when things are beyond their control and spoil things, it must be so frustrating. I do thank Alex his team for trying to resolve the issue. They were first rate. Reception An area I feel can spoil a hotel. It certainly did for me at a recent stay in a Meliá hotel where staff were too corporate, too unhelpful and too impersonal. Not here! The welcome and care were exemplary. Bars Excellent service and quality. Lovely settings. Again, staff could not be better. Pool The 12th floor pool is the only negative as it is too small for a hotel of this size. The new pool area. which looks almost complete and extremely impressive, will make a huge and positive difference to the hotel. However we still enjoyed the pool area and the drinks and meals were very good. Staff extremely helpful Rooms We stayed in a suite and it was immaculate, comfortable and very relaxing. Room service and cleaning were first class. Lovely staff once again. M Lounge/Room I’m not sure what I’ve paid to have access so cavy Comment on whether it’s worth it or not ,but it’s been a very very pleasant experience. Breakfast in there is perfect for me. Quiet, peaceful, lovely views and amazing staff. Being able to call in during the day to cool off and enjoy some evening drinks is very enjoyable. Staff could not be better. Snacks on an evening are varied, delicious and really well presented. In comparison I usually stay at IHG due to points etc but have been lucky to now receive corporate rates at Marriott. I visit Malta regularly and would usually stay at the Palace - I am due to stay there again shortly so it will be interesting to compare. I have visited the Phoenecian and it’s beautiful and is a similar price range really . It’s stunning but I think I prefer the atmosphere here. I think the Marriott is the stand out hotel for me and I will be switching loyalty programmes I think because of this hotel. I do love the Palace because of it’s location and overall quality, but think I will probably by choosing the Marriott in future

Nice location if one is looking for a seaside holiday. Quiet, peaceful with lovely views of the sea. If one is looking for a location that is easy to travel around, then staying at Valletta might be more convenient as the bus and main ferry terminal is situated there. However, if one is touring by car / taxi then the consideration where the bus terminal is would be less important.
Filling breakfast (though it doesn’t vary very much from day to day) and serves its function of filling one up for the start of the day! Rooms are neat and tidy, some areas show wear and tear but does not affect the overall functionality of the room. Good and clean comfy beds.
Excellent service by the hotel staff who made the stay enjoyable. We unfortunately had an accident with the sliding bathroom door but the hotel staff did their best to make the rest of our stay as worry-free as possible.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. Constructive criticism for bre

We celebrated our wedding at Westin Dragonara resort and they made my dreams come true! We chose Reef club / Pavilion because of its perfect location close to the sea, spacious venue and we also used a chance to take some romantic photos at Quadro and The boat house lounge. We booked two nights at the hotel and everything started with a warm welcoming by Tony, Doraldo and their front desk team. Every team member was always with a smile and very helpful. Special thanks to the night team Samson and Suneel who were very friendly and welcoming to us! The room was perfectly clean , had a nice smell and had all the amenities we needed . Just a quick call to service express call center and Katarina , Alexia and Alejandra will make anything possible! They were very efficient to our frequent requests and they even provided a high chair for a bride when doing her make up ;) The wedding was perfectly organized thanks to Johanna and Pierre and their team who were very patient, professional and flexible to our requests. It felt like they read our minds :) The food was super delicious , and also special thanks to the pastry chef for a beautiful and delicious cake ! Last but not least, I would like to thank back of the house team, such as reservations team (Eva and Maja ) and accounts team (Joane and Jovana) who were very efficient when replying to us. We would definitely recommend The Westin Dragonara resort for a vacation or any kind of celebration and we are looking forward to coming back in the future! Tank you all! Sasha and Marten with love!

The hotel is in a good location. There is a small shopping mall opposite and there are shops below. It may be inconvenient if you have a lot of large luggage, because the vehicle cannot drive directly to the hotel gate. You need to get off the car on the hillside and walk in with your luggage. There is no service staff at the intersection to greet those who take the luggage. The front desk staff and restaurant service staff are very enthusiastic. The room decoration is relatively new, but the quality is average. The building next door is currently under construction. When getting a room, it is best to tell the front desk staff that you request a room further away.

Excellent property with great location, extremely clean and comfortable, super friendly staff. Teo was extraordinary! He was a true example of excellent hospitality. He made our trip more exciting in Malta by guiding and giving us tips about the city and the attractions to cover in 72 hours. He made sure that everything was arranged for us accordingly. I couldn't thank him enough for the excellent level of service he had rendered. We will surely visit H Hotel on our next holiday and expect that will recommend your hotel to our family and friends.

GGuest UserWhat an excellent hotel. Here with 30 sixth form students on a cultural visit. The hotel has been absolutely brilliant, rooms cleaned every day and nothing too much trouble. Thanks to Saviour, Mario and the team, your breakfasts have been delicious. Your advice and guidance regarding trips and places to visit has been brilliant. We will be back next year 😊.
GGuest UserIt started really well, until the fire alarms started, then the fire doors went into action, then the Lifts went out. Called reception they said they was dealing with it don’t worry. No communication with the Manager until after 2 hours, which I had to walk down 10 flights of stairs to reception. The manager did not apologise for anything, just that he was trying to sort out an outage from a toaster next door. Never mind that the alarm was going off every half hour. We even had a visit from an Engineer who blown out the cobwebs from the ceiling alarm. It is a same as a paying customer there is no respect from a Manager of such a large hotel chain. I am amazed as to his attitude and that nothing is in place to inform the guests as to what is going on, by way of a phone call to each room or some gentle reassurance from management. If that is their reaction then I dead to think what would happen should this be a real situation.
We stayed here for a last minute break away for our anniversary. When we got dropped off the location was in a busy street late at night on a Saturday. When we arrived at the hotel we were expected being the last arrival of the day. Check in was very efficient and the reception doubled up as a bar. The room was very spacious and very clean, with a nice big double bed, ac, TV, safe, kettle, fridge and storage. The balcony was street facing which was small but enough for 2 and ideal for the hubby who smokes. The bathroom was again very spacious and very clean we had a nice walk in shower and the water pressure was also very good. We realised in the morning we were in the midst of a town with lots of construction but the noise could not be heard if the windows were shut. Due to this the AC was needed which is the only thing I can fault. Due to this being controlled by a panel on the wall by the entrance but no remote was available to control therefore had a disturbed sleep to change temp or switch on or off.
GGuest UserThe location is far from what I expected. The hotel it’s self is in the middle of a shopping mall, with amenities such as the pool and restaurant the other side of the mall. The area is bang in the middle of the night club strip, full of party goers and cheap bars and clubs. The area stinks too! But if you’re visiting for a week of drinking, I guess it’s the place to be?! However, being a small island, using bolt taxis, we managed to avoid the area completely and get to nicer areas with ease. The hotel it’s self is clean, modern and spacious. We went in September, off season, so we never had trouble getting a sun bed at the pool, but it is small and I can imagine in peak holiday period it would be a night mare! Charts music playing at the roof top pool, so it’s not the relaxing type, more for young people and day time drinks. Indoor pool basic. No jacuzzi or steam room/sauna ect which I would expect. But quiet and more relaxing vibes. The staff were pleasant and cleaning staff were attentive. Breakfast was the same every day, basic but enjoyable. With pastries, fruit and full english. I can’t really fault the hotel it’s self, other than it being based across two wings. Just the area in which it’s located let’s it down really. It’s for young party goers really. That modern, urban type of hotel. Karen, the trip representative at the hotel was awful. She seems polite and helpful ect, but didn’t care about the guests. She sold us a compete lie. Recommend the Fernandez boat trip and I won’t get into it but it was nothing like she described and was terrible. She tried to push the hop on, hop off bus on us. And was rather rude when we decided not to take it. We asked for recommendations for what to do instead and she said if we don’t go on the bus we may as well do nothing but stay in the area, what a load of rubbish!! Hope this review is helpful. From a 23&25 year old couple, wanting a holiday where we could explore Malta but relax within the hotel.
GGuest UserThis place is a step ahead from all other party places in Malta. A mix between art, hostel people, event for all kinds of vibe, a beautiful view that’s taking you away from the daily life and a location wish you cannot beat. I invite you to come and share with them all the good energy you have! Still free everyday except Saturday, prepare yourself, your gonna get surprise Face paint, salsa classes, school meeting, techno, rap, rock, everything you are looking for is there, just bring couple of friend to share this non forgettable moment with them
GGuest UserThis was my first time at Antoniel Suites. I arrived late at night after midnight from the airport. Once I arrived I found the door locked and nobody was at the reception. Initially, I was anxious and worried, not sure of what to do but then luckily I found a big note mentioning the working times of the reception and the numbers to contact in case we needed help. I called the number and I received assistance directly. It was my mistake because I did not inform the reception of my arrival time even though they had sent me a message but due to my busy schedule, I missed the opportunity to check the message and reply on time. In this context, while this is a negative point that a reception must be available 24/7 since standard hotels will have this in place, however, I am thankful to the hotel for the fact they accommodated my need immediately when I arrived despite the odd hour. Also, they were accessible via WhatsApp number/call. However, I do strongly recommend the hotel administration change this and instead have a 24/7 receptionist since it can be intimidating for people at the first instance to not find anyone at the counter and a door locked. In terms of the room's cleanliness, it was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable. Also, the balcony view was the best part because I could keep it open at night and sleep instead of using air conditioning. In terms of the basic amenities, i.e., there was no toothpaste or tooth brush or water bottle or kettle so do not expect anything luxury. Whether I would stay here again, I am not sure because it did not fulfil all my requirements and from a value for money perspective no it does not deserve that much because there were minimal requirements in place, however I would like to thank you the staff because they were friendly, helpful to the best of their ability and dealt with guests with respect and utmost professionalism.
The hotel is vacation home for teenagers as is the whole surroundings. Due to overbooked during summer, I had to stay at number 11 for 2 weeks for business trip, the experience was awful from beginning to end. I checked in, i was changing and a hotel employee just opened my hotel door unannounced - and same happened to my work colleague. Is not possible to lock the room - which feels very unsafe for woman traveling alone and even more summing the events. Breakfast is good - but only opens at 7:00 aiming the people coming back from Snt. Julians night life. I stayed on the 7th floor, the view was another hotel pool area - where parties take place everyday . From the room is very noisy. There additionally a construction on going close to the hotel that disturbs even more the already chaotic traffic in the city. If are coming to Malta for business avoid this area.
Modern hotel in a great central spot. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were spacious and many of the facilities e.g. television and wifi were good. Shower being situated in the room for a twin birth was impractical, meaning one of us had to leave the room whilst they other showered. Shower curtain provided for privacy but see through. Our shower also leaked all over the bedroom floor every-time it was used.
GGuest UserThe value for money is super. The location is great, super convenient to getting out into downtown Paceville. The hotel is very clean, the staff very kind. The room was brand new and so was the bathroom. I will definitely choose him again next time I come back to Malta
GGuest UserStaff was willing to help, but did not fullfill their promises. The location is good, very close to the centre of Paceville. However, the gym and indoor pool are closed, which was not reported on their site, so it was a bummer that those were not available. We had counted on it.
