Hotels Near View of Sarajevo in Stari Grad

We've just returned from a four-night stay here and loved it! The staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. We paid extra for the breakfast, which turned out to be a very good decision. There was a lovely selection each morning, and it was a great way to start the day. Returning during the afternoon also meant we could sit and enjoy a coffee, piece of fruit, or tasty biscuit. We would definitely return here the next time we're in Sarajevo. If you're looking to book a tour, then we'd recommend Meet Bosnia. Their office is an easy 10-minute walk from the hotel.

The location of the hotel is the biggest selling point, just in the small street directly opposite the Latin Bridge, it is convenient to walk to the attractions of the old city. The hotel does not allow traffic in front of the hotel, so the address given by the hotel on Ctrip is the nearest address where the taxi can stop. In fact, the taxi is taken to the old town inside the block, and there is a yellow sign at the street. In exchange for money, the hotel is next to a pub and north, and the old town hotel is seen from the height of the four-story façade. The big bed room is two single beds together, the quilt is two sheets of people, talking with the front desk lady sister tip, said to clean the room to 1-2 mark, breakfast is simple, you can eat, quiet at night.

Hotel Berr is just an exceptional hotel in the heart of Old Town Sarajevo! I really enjoyed my stay here. Location couldn't be better - the hotel is a stone's throw from Pigeon Square (maybe 100 metres at most) and about a 10 minute walk to all of the main attractions in Sarajevo - City Hall, the various mosques scattered throughout the city and the main artery of Old Town (the pedestrian area). There are restaurants, shops, money exchange bureaus (watch out for those with high commission!), cafes and souvenir shops as far as the eye can see. There is no lack to choose from. There is also a medium sized supermarket on the corner across from Pigeon Square, open early and stays open quite late. The yellow fortress is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel and the white fortress is approximately 20-30 minutes uphill on foot. Note that the white fortress is closed indefinitely for restoration but the views of the city from the top of the hill is well worth the walk! The hotel owns 3 buildings - the result of expansion and buy up of other hotels over the years. So your room will be in one of the building adjacent to the main reception areas or it will be in the primary building. This was not at all an issue, but just so guests are aware of it! Note also that there is no lift/elevator in any of the buildings and the stairwells are rather narrow. I travel with only a small backpack, so for me, it wasn't even a concern, but for guests with large/heavy luggage or with mobility issues, be aware that you will need to climb the narrow stairs. Some of the rooms are in an almost ”attic” which might be a problem for some guests. The room was spacious and very clean! Although I was in a single room, there were two twin beds in my room. I believe all rooms have the same setup, regardless of how many guests you are staying in the room. The room was equipped with a desk, a small coffee table, two chairs, a large cabinet to store your luggage and a little electric kettle for boiling water (though no tea or coffee were provided in the room, I would nab instant coffee packets from the breakfast buffet to use the next morning). There were two mugs, a glass water bottle and two glasses. There was no air conditioning in the room, but there was a small fan which was sufficient for my needs. There was a flatscreen tv also in the room with approximately 30 channels available. Mostly local channels, however I was able to find about 5 in English. Some rooms have a mini refrigerator, but mine did not. It would have been a nice perk, but I managed without. The bathroom was very large and ample towels were provided (2 hand towels, 2 massive fluffy bath towels and a bath/floor mat). The bathroom had a large dispenser of hand soap as well as a dispenser of ”shampoo” (it was exactly the same as the hand soap), but I used it on my hair and I didn't have any issues with residue. A great little hotel. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A major big point is the fact the breakfast were incredible. So much choice, and for me I ate so much I didn't need any lunch. Breakfast was simply amazing. The hotel is situated on a hill so with lugguge I recommend a taxi if traveling from the tram stop. However overall amazing stay

Just returned for a quick trip and was so impressed by the team at this hotel. It's well located, just a short walk from the Old Town and the suites include a small kitchen which came in handy. From the first email contact through to checking out, the team where unfailingly kind, helpful and just lovely. They even ordered food delivery for me one night as I was unable to use my international phone. Breakfast is included and it's quite a spread - some local dishes as well as eggs, fruit and cold cuts. i also loved the grab and go store in the lobby as well as free coffee or tea all day. A very minor quibble, but housekeeping wasn't as thorough as I would expect but hardly worth losing a star.

Arrived approx 10:30am was met with a really friendly female at the reception… although we were early was informed as soon as one room became available we would be allowed to check in early… was given a room downstairs, room was bit tight, and toilet in this room was very tiny however because of the way we were greeted and the early checkin we ignored the fact that this was a small room… we had 4 rooms the others on the first floor were really nice plenty of space bigger bathrooms too.. Location is probably one of the best you can get for the price of the hotel. Literally 5 mins from the centre where there are plenty of restaurants night life etc… Breakfast was included and honestly could not complain Velna made breakfast for us and when I needed anything different at breakfast she would go out of her way and accommodate of possible.. she use to clean our rooms daily too really friendly went above and beyond if and when required… Female at reception again exceptional service, explained everything thoroughly and really welcoming her name was Amna she was one of those gems who I know had an issue risen she would go out of her way to sort out… one example one of the rooms had faulty air conditioning, once we told her she made sure the issue was sorted as she couldn’t get the air conditioner fixed she got another room cleaned despite it being late and give us another room. Thankyou Amna We went with a group of 8 lads and 100% we would go back again…. Finally met one of the owners of the hotel Arman had a brew with him any major issues speak to Arman or Amna recommend this hotel to all. But try and get rooms on 1st floor as larger bathrooms.

I consider myself as experienced traveler and this was the best hotel I have stayed in. Every single thing was planned in detail and delivered in perfect- best quality food, amenities in a hotel and the kindest people- reception, cleaners, kitchen crew. Thank you for this amazing experience. Definitely planning to come back.

The hotel is very conspicuous, with a yellow exterior that can be seen from a distance. Although the decoration is old, it is well maintained and you can see its former glory. The service is five-star, and the buffet breakfast has a wide variety of options to meet the needs of different tastes. The room is also very large, with a space dedicated to large suitcases.

Almina, Nino and Haris are the heart and soul of this hotel. The kindest, most down to earth people who went out of their way to help me when I left my phone in a taxi in the early hours of the morning. They spent countless hours trying to help me when they had no reason to.I have never received such amazing hospitality like I did at hotel grand. But also being very accomodating and patient with a difficult situation. The hotel should give them a raise because the selfless acts those three did and going out of their way to help guests is what makes a hotel worth staying at. I would come back here if they are still there. Amazing staff. The management team should reward them. It's hard to find workers like them.

My room was deluxe double room with mountain view , they gave me a corner room with panoramic view of the mountain 510. The location is abit away from town around 15 minutes drive but if you are looking for quiet & luxury in nature property in SJJ this is a excellent option
