We arrived early and left our car here to visit some local wineries. We were greeted by Peter and Kail. The latter showed us around even though our "Bush Room" wasnt ready. We returned at 7.30 pm.and loved out little "cottage".. so spacious, so quiet, so special....we slept for 10 hours.. the dogs did bark early morning but otherwise no issues The breakast was delicious with a great choice All the staff here were lovely and we hope to come back to enjoy the peace and tranquility. A great safe snd secure place off the beaten track.

Was such a tranquil stay. The house had everything we needed, comfortable spaces and gorgeous views. Falling asleep to the sound of trickling water was blissful and the breakfast was tasty! Well located and kind staff, will most definitely be back.

My partner and i enjoyed the weekend at Marshden Estate. It was peaceful and service was great! Thank you Peter for making this a memorable trip for us. Will definitely recommend this place to ANYONE.

Looking at the other reviews, staying in one of the separate guest cottages must be a better experience but staying in the 'manor house' was very disappointing. Hard to believe this is a 4 star establishment. The few positives were the lovely grounds and pool, and we appreciated Peter accommodating our last minute booking but other than that not great. Room was okay, but very small bed, no AC, noisy ceiling fan, bath plug didn't work, peeling paint on the windows.. The 'manor house' itself was bizarre - felt very neglected and unwelcoming. There were old mattresses lying in the passageway and the snooker room, which Peter suggested, has broken lamps lying across the snooker table and piles of old linen scattered around the room.. just weird. There are also 3 (lovely) ridgebacks who live on the property, but they barked incessantly until about 1am keeping us awake and the generator which came on during loadshedding seemed to be right outside our window and was extremely loud. For the price, definitely not worth it.

Wij verbleven 4 nachten in Boulders cottage/Marshden Estate met privé zwembad (met 3 kinderen 17,16 en 11 jaar oud) en hebben een super tijd beleefd. De cottage was van alle gemakken voorzien en hebben alle ochtenden van een heerlijk ontbijt genoten met de uiterst vriendelijke service van Anneline en Mara. Niets was teveel voor Annaline en zij heeft ons erg geholpen met meerdere zaken zoals Corona testen etc. Wij voelden ons uiterst welkom en zelfs na thuiskomst bleef Anneline contact houden en informeren of alles ok was. Marshden estate ligt tussen Stellenbosch en Somerset west tussen de wijnboerderijen. We hopen ooit weer eens terug te komen. Bedankt voor een super verblijf!
