Franschhoek Hotel ★★★★
"The hotel fully matches the photos. It’s clean, cozy, and each guest has a private entrance. The only downside was that in our room there was no door between the bedroom and the bathroom, which felt a bit unusual. It was also a bit chilly in the room in the evening. The property itself is lovely, with a pleasant area for walking where you can even spot peacocks. A decent pool and a sauna. There is also a nice restaurant on site, where breakfast is served in the morning and you can enjoy a delicious dinner in the evening. The breakfasts are European-style, with especially tasty fish and fresh fruit."
Boschendal Farm Estate ★★★★
"Boschendal Estates must rank as one of THE places to stay in the Stellenbosch area. Surrounded by mountains on one side and rolling meadows on the other, the scenery is spectacular, and the location is ideal for visiting vineyards in the region. The Retreat Cottages where we stayed were charming and the staff at both the Deli and Werf restaurants were most helpful. Special mention for Marylise who went out of her way to accommodate our requirements and Peter our young hiking trail guide who persisted despite a severe allergy attack. Great breakfast at the Werf too!"
Cultivar Boutique Hotel ★★★★
"We stayed for one night before visiting the park. The room is clean, as the territory should be. A beautiful lawn, on which squirrels run, children, ... a small pool. You can relax, lie on the sun loungers, sunbathe. We liked it👍"
The Devon Valley Hotel ★★★★
"Lovely setting and outlook over the countryside and distant mountains. Attentive and courteous service from all staff. Lovely setting for breakfast or lunch outside on the terrace and a nice evening menu. Pool area could be much improved."
Lovane Boutique Wine Estate and Guesthouse ★★★★
"We stayed at this hotel for two nights, and it was amazing! After the wine tram tour, we took a taxi back to the hotel. The winery isn't large, but it's very cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. A welcome bottle of wine awaited us in our room. A complimentary wine tasting was included, which was interesting and delicious. The breakfast buffet had a good selection, delicious, and filling. In the evening, you can go to Stellenbosch for dinner; there are many different restaurants to suit every taste, and you can also explore the area. We also had a massage; it's an additional cost, but it was very pleasant and convenient because it was done right in your room. Overall, I highly recommend it."
Asara Wine Estate & Hotel ★★★★★
"A very beautiful and conveniently located winery. Excellent 5-star rooms at affordable prices. And what a beautiful view from the terrace. Absolutely stunning."
Banhoek Lodge ★★★★
"Banhoek Lodge offers the perfect stay for International travelers arriving into South Africa. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and vineyards, its a post card each time you draw back the curtains. Breakfasts are amazing, each room has a view and why not spoil yourself with a body treatment to get over the flight. A recommended car service "Christo", provided the perfect means to get around, well done."
Lauradale Accommodation ★★★
"The place was beautiful and our stay was truly amazing. The staff were very friendly, the rooms was so comfortable and breakfast was delicious."
Spier Hotel and Wine Farm ★★★★
"Hygiene: average, with hair. Facilities: Newer, bedding and bath products are all available. Environment: Average, some distance from the sea, but very quiet at night. The swimming pool is small and the water is not clean. Service: There was no one at the reception, and it took a long time for someone to come. Everything else is fine. Parking is secure and has its own garage."

Majeka House
"I just extended my stay here…if I could it would be for another week. The real gem in this place is the staff, nothing is too much for them, I love how they prioritise the guests. Majeka House feels tranquil and serene…homely even. Our room is so spacious, the breakfast spread is just wholesome…the scones, oh my word, the best scones ever! I have nothing but praise for this place…can’t wait to come back. Special mention to Roland, he really goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. Thank you Majeka House team…we will be back😊"

Clouds Estate
"What a wonderful place! The views are stunning. The villa is excellent, the staff is friendly! Nearby is the Graff Estate Winery with excellent restaurants. Artwork is everywhere. We stayed for one day and really regretted it was our last day in South Africa. Otherwise, we would have definitely stayed longer!"
Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa
"The environment is beautiful!"
Ladybird Boutique Hotel at Kanonkop
"Excellent"
Stellenbosch Manor
"Room very cold and dark and no service after breakfast. The staff was very nice. Some bikes for renting would be nice to have."
L'Ermitage - Franschhoek Chateau & Villas
"This is an exceptional property, we were disappointed we were only booked for 1 night! The property was warm (we visited in winter) the facilities, quality, and decor was fabulous. The views over the lake and mountains were incredible. Esme and her team were welcoming and helpful with good communication throughout the booking and checkin process. The apartment was so welcoming and cosy, we decided not to eat out. Esme provided a recommendation for the local Italian restaurant that we could order online and they would deliver - food was excellent. The beds and baths were so inviting that we couldn't wait to get into them. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a bit of luxury for a very affordable price."
Sugarbird Manor
"Ginny, Megan and the Team were exceptional! Had an efficient booking, check-in and settling in with follow-up checks to see all was well. Check-out was a breeze too! Their ginger cat, the chicken and the family of 5 peacocks were so friendly too! They'd walk around us daily like we were family. The bed & pillows were really comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and the water pressure & temperature was on point! The breakfast service was awesome with the kitchen team preparing fresh meals from the freshest local produce available. As a vegan I was definitely taken care of. As a coffee lover, had the most amazing Nespresso coffee variety with one of the best coffee machines I've seen and that too coupled with a choice of oat milk & almond milk whenever it was required! Been ages since I swam in a hotel pool and had a great time with my nephews & friends. Fresh clean towels for all users of the pool! A pool with a view!"
Twice Central Guest House
"Beautifully decorated, boutique B&B in a central and convenient location near shops and restaurants. Wendy, Anina and all the staff could not be more helpful, breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Highly recommended! Advise you book direct for best rate."
Protea Hotel Stellenbosch and Conference Centre
"We had an excellent 3 day stay at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Stellenbosch & Conference Centre. The service was very good throughout the hotel. The restaurants are excellent with beautiful views. A special THANK YOU to Nicole Katts from the concierge desk. She is amazing! Nicole helped us arrange a tour of some the vineyards, spa treatments and private care transportation"
River Manor Boutique Hotel by the Living Journey Collection
"Location perfect for a stroll into Stellenbosch. Atmosphere. Very Friendly and Homely. Rooms Bright and airy. Received a very warm welcome. Staff extremely helpful. Off street parking. 2 Pools to relax in. Highly Recommend. We then went to Chapter House in Franschhoek. Which has been refurbished and extended. Central to shops and eateries. Very Comfortable. Then on to the Majeka in Stellenbosch A larger property than previous two. Heated Internal and external pools available. Food selection for breakfast and evening meals excellent. Planned refurbishment and additions to be underway this winter. Highly Recommend. One to watch out for. Our next Stay was the Tree House in Green Point Cape Town. Quirky entrance. But very welcoming and accommodating. Private balcony’s with sea views. Courtesy transport available on request. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay there. Then on to the Zest Hotel which is also part of the Living Journey Boutique Hotel Group. This was our last and was within easy walking distance to eateries etc. Roof top solarium a bonus. That was 5 Living Journey hotels we visited February this year and would recommend any of them. All had there idiosyncrasies, same door bell tone. Above all warm and welcoming reception from all."
Wedgeview Country House & Spa
"I stayed at Wedgeview in January 2008 and had a lovely time. Now, 16 years later, my stay was again exceptional. Friendly service, staff going out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The spa is a 5 star experience, food 5 star. I will go back and hopefully soon."
Oude Werf Hotel
"What a beautiful and cozy hotel! We were welcomed with big smiles and a class of sherry with some warm towels. Breakfast was awesome and the bed was sooooo comfy. We would definitely stay there again when we are back in Stellenbosch"
Brenaissance Wine & Stud Estate
"From the reception to the exit was just pleasant and perfect! Lovely gardens to take photos, tranquil, clean and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious! "
Lynx Wine Estate
"We stopped there on the wine tram and were greeted by Brandon, who took us through the wine tasting and was excellent! Definitely the best stop of the day and would advise people to go there. Both the sparking wine and Shiraz there are also superb."
