Great location. The air conditioner was down for a day due to electricity shortage which was hard to bear the heat.

Quaint, the place is not too big, but quite distinctive.
The coffee in the legendary coffee hotel is average, mainly because it is too weak
The car can't reach you, so you need to walk for a while with your luggage, which is quite strenuous

Nice old hotel, check-in was at 10 p.m., allowed to carry suitcases upstairs and night porter who knew little.
I had asked by email to set up air conditioning in advance, but that was not the case. Very warm in the room.

Fantastic boutique hotel. Our room had fantastic decor ( exactly like the photos). Coffee is the best I’ve ever had and the food also excellent. Staff extremely helpful

I spent just one night at ZNZ Coffee House but it was an enjoyable experience at a decent hotel run by good friendly people. Arriving late at night it was a little tricky to locate the front door, but the Google Maps pin is correct and the night watchman let me in and showed me to the room. I had chosen one of the smaller room options but it was all fine, with AC and a compact bathroom. The night light on the bed didn't work and there was no view outside, just smoked glass windows facing the wall of the next building. The highlight was breakfast, up on the top level, with unlimited coffee (of course!) and a good range of options and an excellent view over Stone Town. Super friendly staff too. The price was competitive and I booked direct with no problems. The hotel's airport transfer quote was more than double the locally negotiated taxi rate, so I didn't use that service.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the middle of Stone Town's main tourist attractions. Not to mention that the architecture is super authentic and the hotel is located in one of the best cafes in Stone Town. I stayed in two rooms there and I just don't recommend the express room. It faces the street and is extremely noisy. In addition, it has a private bathroom, but it is located outside the room and for women this is very inconvenient. Anyway, everything works well: air conditioning, showers, hot water and the breakfast is delicious.

Zanzibar Coffee House is still the greatest place in Town, very nicely done with style, great coffee and very lovely stuff, especially the ladies at the rooftop. I felt very welcome, also when I checked in in the middle of the night. I came allready a few times and will come for sure again
