Mizingani Seafront Hotel ★★★★
"Very close to the ferry to Dar es Salaam. The hotel building is very historic. The room is large and the sea view is right outside the window. The breakfast is rich. The restaurant is on the balcony facing the sea."
Al-Minar Hotel ★★★
"room is clean, breakfast is freshly made. it is worthy and nice hotel."
The Seyyida Hotel and Spa ★★★★
"It's good, but there is no parking space. It cost 20 dollars to park on the street."
Vivi Cafe B&B ★★
"Same as previous review!"
Dhow Palace Hotel ★★★★
"The location is good. The presidential suite is very beautiful. BUT: 1. Upon check-in, they tried to upgrade us to a regular suite (it's right next to the presidential suite) instead of the one we reserved. They probably hoped we wouldn't notice. 2. We paid the city tax upon check-in. Then, upon check-out, they started asking us to pay it again. They need to get their payment records in order. 3. The breakfast was average, nothing special."
Golden Tulip Stone town Boutique ★★★★
"Yes, it is a relatively clean and comfortable hotel in Stone Town"
Mango Restaurant&Apartment Hotel(China) ★★★★
"The room was clean and hygienic, and we upgraded the room! Recommended"
Princess Salme Inn ★★★
"After our pleasant experience back in 2012, we decided to come back in March 2016. We once again were greeted by courtesy, cleanliness and the crew's welcoming attitude, especially Neema and Juma (who are in charge of the magnificent breakfast served every morning) as well as Gertrude who helped us with internet and our room's safety box. Thanks to everybody for helping me to practice with my beginner level spoken Swahili! I highly recommend this structure to everyone. It's quiet, close to both the town center and the ferry Harbor, very clean, breakfast is rich and the staff superb. Nawashukuru wote! Asante sana!"
Shoki Shoki Hotel Stone Town ★★★
"generally……."

Zanzibar Serena Hotel
"The receptionist is so rude and unkind. By one day, she changed the check-out time. She doesn't have any apologies for that."
Rumaisa Hotel
"Seeing the reviews I was a bit worried about this one but they were great! Communication was a bit sporadic prior to the stay, but once I called them and got their number, they were brilliant. They were super apologetic about any miscommunications, arranged us a bus pick up from the ferry port for our group (even though it's close by) and upgraded one of our rooms. The staff were lovely, rooms very clean. Overall a great stay in Stone Town. No vegan options at breakfast."
Park Hyatt Zanzibar
"It's not new, but very beautiful. When we checked in, they said there were no sea view rooms, what a pity...; The hotel is on the west side of the island. Don't forget to find a sunset cruise to watch the sunset, which is the highlight of the hotel on the west side of the island."
Maru Maru Hotel
"The hotel is clean but the location is not good because at night many outside noise , but I enjoyed their breakfast is good"
Antonio Garden Hotel
"Good place for a solo traveller. Located conveniently in Stone town Zanzibar so you can easily explore. The room was basic enough for a solo traveller. Loved the services from the "Masaais".No specific hotel parking as Stone town has narrow streets"
Forodhani Park Hotel
"This hotel is definitely not a 4-star property as advertised. The reception manager was not particularly friendly or welcoming, which made the experience less pleasant. The rooms were ok with very few amenities. That said, there are some positives. The breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and delicious local pastries offered each morning. Abdulhamid was especially helpful — he went out of his way to assist with organizing tours, and he provided useful tips and clear directions throughout our stay. The hotel is also centrally located and within walking distance of restaurants and Fordhani park, which is very convenient. Booking directly with the property or walking in can get you a cheaper rate. Overall, while the location and breakfast were highlights, the hotel does not meet 4-star standards."
Beyt Al Salaam
"AVOID THIS HOTEL We had a reservation for 2 rooms from our travel agent with confirmation from an online booking service with receipt and voucher. We arrived and they only had 1 room booked in their system. The room was unavailable as it was morning so we went on a tour. At our return they still said there was one room only but they could not give it to us as we were 4 people! A trainee was extremely difficult so we asked for the manager who was also not very accommodating but allowed us to move our luggage into one room while charging us for taxes for 4. The room had no towels, we asked for towels which they did not provide. We provided the confirmation of payment and voucher and went for a walk. At our return at 9pm, we still had no towels and no second room. They were very rude and unhelpful. The hotel was empty. The room we got was moldy and stuffy. We booked a second room in an hotel nearby called Maru Maru which which was a lot better and cheaper Avoid this hotel"
Tembo B&B Apartments
"Very Good 😉"
Zanzibar Palace Hotel
"The location is at the quiet side if the Stone Town. Due to it is situated inside a small alley, the directions could be quite complicated and we were lost several times to head back to the hotel. Despite being assured that it's safe, we were tapped by few mischievous children when we passed by a school near the hotel. That said, the room and hotel itself was great. We particularly enjoyed the breeze at the open air loft, where we could view the sea and ships from far away. It was indeed relaxing. The historical bed and bath in the room made the experience so unique. The only downside was there was insufficient of hot water for the bath. The breakfast wise was in fact the best we had in Tanzania, not to mention the impeccable hospitality provided by the staff there. Special shout out to the helpful staff who assisted us with our luggage during check in and out. Bear in mind on the steep staircase up to the room and inside the room to the loft. It might not be suitable for those who have knee problem, as you literally need to climb up and down everytime to the washroom. Otherwise, it was quite a memorable stay."
Kholle House
"I had a wonderful stay at Kholle House Hotel and felt very welcome from the first moment. Everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was amazing and definitely a highlight. The house itself is beautiful and full of history. Staying in the former home of Princess Kholle made me feel like a princess myself. A special thank you to Yakub, who really stayed in my memory, and to the whole lovely team. Asante sana – I would happily come back anytime."
Al Johari Hotel & Spa
"Absolutely amazing stay. Sushant , Excellent Service Gertrude at Reception very kind and Friendly. I will definitely recommend Al Johari *****"
