Zanzibar Serena Hotel
"The hotel is quite old, but it's right by the sea. The room is a bit small, not even 28 square meters. I fell asleep to the sound of the waves. The location is good, but the hotel facilities are average."
Park Hyatt Zanzibar
"Our stay at Park Hyatt Zanzibar was truly unforgettable. What a beautiful historic building, thoughtfully restored with an elegant blend of traditional Zanzibari charm and modern luxury, simply stunning. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and equipped with excellent amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind after a day of exploring of Stone Town. The staff were professional, attentive, and exceptionally well-trained, consistently delivering warm and personalized hospitality. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The semi-buffet concept combined with an à la carte menu offered a fantastic selection of dishes, all prepared to an excellent standard. The quality, presentation, and taste were superb."
Golden Tulip Stone town Boutique
"Nice place overall with nice terrace! Could be a bit noisy because of its proximity to the port and you can hear cargos loading. Staff is friendly"
Al-Minar Hotel
"Al Minar is a welcoming hotel, close to the sights, shops, restaurant and waterfront but still quiet and peaceful. It was a great base for exploring Stone Town. Our room was comfortable and the staff was kind and helpful, letting us check in hours before the “official” time, The breakfast food was not exciting but more than adequate and we enjoyed eating it on the hotel roof. Our only problem was a lack of hot water."
Spice Tree by Turaco
"Great location in Stonetown. The hotel room was clean and modern. The breakfast buffet was great. Areas for improvement is the average service at the hotel. Room AC wasn’t cooling the room well and front desk said they didn’t have any alternative rooms that night. Plumbing issue was not addressed promptly when brought up with the front desk. All day dining room service ends early 10pm and there are no places to buy any food if you wake up with a case of the munchies"
Mango Restaurant&Apartment Hotel(China)
"This is an amazing place to stay right in the heart of Stone town . Location is really nice , you can walking around the city. The owner is such a pleasant person, he helped us throughout our stay and Chinese food was really great ."
Shoki Shoki Hotel Stone Town
"Nice people and place for start Safari adventure."
Dhow Palace Hotel
"Such a lovely hotel for a very affordable price. Located in the city center next to those winding shopping streets, very stylish with the vintage furniture on the inside and incredibly helpful staff!"
The Seyyida Hotel and Spa
"Hotel location is very good"

Tembo Palace Hotel
"Beautiful Ocean view, great rooms and buffet selections ...and a large handy staff! I'd go back!"
The Swahili House
"We came here for lunch as part of our walking tour with a guide. The roof top shows views of Stonetown but aside from that, there is nothing good to say about this restaurant. I asked for a bacon, lettuce and tomato cheese burger. The waitress informed me that they had no bacon which was not an issue. When the food arrived, I was surprised to find no beef but rather a very poor sandwich with a tiny amount of bacon. When we came to pay for the meal, we were told at reception that they would accept card as we didn’t have enough cash on us. When we asked to pay by card, the waitress laughed and said they only accept cash as the machine was broken. They asked for our card details in which they would use to transfer money later. We refused to provide our details as we didn’t trust what they would do with our details. We were told that we had to go to an ATM which was a 10 minute walk away. Eventually we paid and the waitress continued to laugh the whole time. The whole restaurant seems like a huge scam with terrible food. This is a huge tourist trap and if your guide says to go here, don’t."
Forodhani Park Hotel
"Pleasant hotel with very friendly staff. Located near the night market in Stown Town. To be recommended"
Zanzibar Palace Hotel
"Nice little boutique hotel. Great location. Rooms are cute, with bespoke antique furniture. Staff were super friendly and helpful."
Beyt Al Salaam
"Great location for restaurants, the night market, tours from the beach and tours into and around Stone town. We walked during the day and night and felt very safe. The 2 rooms were large, beds had mosquito nets, showers and bathroom was clean with good water pressure. The restaurant was simple and great - fast service, good prices, good food, the free breakfasts were as expected - filling and excellent. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We would recommend this boutique hotel. Thanks for your hospitality."
Upendo House Hotel Zanzibar
"We had a great stay. The room was good and the food is marvellous. Friendly people. We stayed there for two nights and that was enough because the town is very noisy. The hotel has a rooftop pool with a bar where it is very nice to stay. For us was the only problem the stairs."
Kholle House
"Everyone here was incredibly supportive of all my needs and helped out with everything. From bringing drinks up 3 floors for a rooftop happy hour to kindness and tips for food and drink, the service was impeccable. The rooms were funky and fun with air conditioning and all you needed. Our family room was perfect for us and the kids so we had a door to separate us and give us all some space. I also loved the exotic middle eastern architecture and the pool and lunch options were perfect. Location is great to walk on the malecon and see the sights. If I were to stay in Stone Town again, I would definitely stay here and maybe do more nights."
Al Johari Hotel & Spa
"Absolutely amazing stay. Sushant , Excellent Service Gertrude at Reception very kind and Friendly. I will definitely recommend Al Johari *****"
Aurelia Zanzibar
"Great stay. Breakfast was a bit poor. Missing items."
Spice Palace Hotel
"Top hotel with perfect location, super friendly staff and excellent service. Recommended!"
Emerald Palm
"Authentic hotel in African style, immerses you in African life. The room is generally good. There was no hair dryer, but they can have one on request. Climbing up to the rooms by stairs, but they help with luggage. The location is good, but you will need to walk 2-3 minutes to the hotel, a car will not pass."
