Booked in to attend a conference in the town and this Hotel worked out a lot less expensive than the Conference Hotel. The staff are a credit from booking in to checking out no issues and very friendly. Evening meal ...what do you expect for a tenner it was value for money my room was clean fresh but alas the corridors needed a vacuum and of course there is building work going on but I knew this in advance (No Lift). Breakfast was great and cooked to order as I ate before the buffet was ready. Never had a bad stay with this Chain.

Mostly OK and while refurbishment is ongoing you have to expect drilling and staircase painting to start at 8am and go on to 5pm. But I did not like some aspects of the new room which had only a skylight as window and where the only place with enough light to read was in bed. There was a nice little round table with 2 chairs directly under the skylight, in the darkest part of the room outside daylight hours. In other respects the stay was fine, nice bed, good bathroom, good breakfast.

Do not go here until the refurb is finished we at the hotel right now. It is living hell no consideration for health and safety. Strong smell of paint dust every where made worse by the strong smell of cigarettes in the lift and corridors especially where the workers are. Fire doors kept open by chairs so no safety. Had notification by email at 11am while we were driving to the hotel. No consideration by the staff they just shrug their shoulders absolute joke. Needing to careful monitor as I suffer from asthma and the strong paint cigarette smell meant very little sleep. We arrived to drilling and workers banging about 50 metres away!!!!! Looking for another hotel but no availability at such short notice.

We have stayed at this hotel before and found it just as good as last time. The location is excellent as it is just a few minutes away from the town centre and all of the main attractions. There are quite a few internal stars which may be difficult to navigate if you have accessibility. Issues, but I’m sure this can be rectified if you contact the hotel in advance. The room was up to the usual standard and breakfast was delicious as always. A very inexpensive stay which suit us perfectly for our needs.

As mentioned in recent previous Reviews this Prem Inn is in need of a total refurbishment - which has begun by the sounds of workmen clattering around from 8am this morning. The Staff, as always, are excellent. The room we are in is at best 'tacky'; black mold around shower and sink; unclean shower head; broken USB socket (there is only one); however on the plus side is the hotel's location. The bed is very comfortable too. There is no parking, however, a 10mins walk over 2 very business roads is a car park which charges a very reasonable £12 for 72hrs. Presently, scaffolding surrounds most of the hotel. At £55 per night for a couple it's not expensive (book far in advance) and the A/C worked (after we requested it to be switched on) which helps the freshness of the room as the windows can't be opened. No net curtains and our room was directly overlooked thus we kept the curtains closed throughout the stay. Thus, if you need to be only a few minutes walk to the RSC Theatre and the town centre with all it offers, then, like us, you might still choose this Hotel.

Comfy bed good location were the only positives Room was dirty very dated mould and grime around bath handwash and shower gel broken bathroom bin. Damp smelling. Had to keep the curtains closed as overlooked by houses and no nets. Very dated room. No plug sockets near mirror. No pillowcases on pillows. Wrappers under the bed. Very cold in room even with heating on. Overpriced

If you are allocated room 217, request another room, the room is fine, plenty big enough and clean. You just won’t get much sleep, there’s what looks like 2 vents or air conditioning inlets, they were going all night, it sounded like a washing machine on spin, hardly got any sleep at all, I was so tired the following day, I had to sleep in a lay-bye on the way home

A room with a window that is nailed shut, there's no natural ventilation. If you want to get cool, you have to have the Air Conditioning on all night, buzzing away, or try to get to sleep in a Sauna. Reception didn't answer multiple the calls about AC, nor did the phone number on the AC panel (that was disabled). Simply said 'Sorry you didn't get any sleep!' when eventually we approached them directly at reception.
