Beautiful and lovely surroundings. A lot to choose from for breakfast. Most of the staff are nice, but there is one guy who is not that nice very rude the way he talks and answering questions. There is two glass in the bathroom which is fine but if you request for a glass to drink in the room they will still bring you the same kind of glasses to you. I think they should have different shapes of glass for different purposes. Also some of their tea cups are too big and is not classy at all.

A hotel in midst of natural environment, see very nice sun rise and sun set. quiet and peaceful. Hotel staffs are very nice, friendly. They take initiative to offer help.

We picked up a great offer from TravelZoo for a 2 night break. The hotel needs a little attention to the rooms, but for the money we paid it was great value and way better than a travelodge on the M4. Breakfast was great and our cream tea on arrival did just the job! Lovely gardens to stroll through and enjoy a drink on the patio in the sun. Great location to reach the Cotswolds which we did during our stay but didn’t pay Cotswold rates…so we’ll be doing this again!

Booked this beautiful place through Wowcher. They gave us a free upgrade to a suite. The room was huge. I would highly recommended paying extra for the upgrade it was so spacious. The staff was so friendly. The waiting staff were lovely. One girl in the resturant was even joking. With us and had a great sense of humour. The grounds are to die for. If you are looking for a break with walks on your doorstep and pure peace this is for you. The food was really nice. We felt like we was in paradise. Swans and a lake. Peaceful and tranquil with lovely food.

Pillows & mattress excellent I mislaid my insomnia badge during my stay! My 4 friends and I stayed Friday to Sunday morning, slept like a log! Friday started with afternoon tea. Warm scones, cream & jam and loads of tea, delicious & so filling I'm only 5'2" & found it hard to get out of the bath but not a complaint, more an observation The breakfast was superb, possibly the tastiest bacon and sausages I've enjoyed for many a long time. Hot plates would be welcome because by the time you've loaded your plate the food is pretty cold sadly. The staff were helpful and friendly, room very good and a lovely efficient shower with no discernable drop in pressure at busy times Lamb shank meal is huge but pork meal half the size

Starting with the positive lovely old building within nice grounds and was lovely to sit out in the sunshine overlooking the lake. However arrived on Friday at same time a school prom guests were arriving. Had a reservation in the restaurant for 8, order taken fairly promptly but waited and waited for food. Trolleys of food were coming out for prom and can only presume hotel guests were kept waiting. As lots of people chasing orders. After chasing we got our food at 9. My partners chicken was overcooked and my risotto wasn't risotto at all it was just cooked rice swimming in cooking liquor. Very poor. Breakfast was good but a little disorganised. Waited a while to be seated. Lots of people waiting at serving area for cooked items with only one member of staff trying to run backwards and forwards to restock. Another ****** about breakfast was we were asked if we wanted to upgrade at an extra cost for a cooked breakfast which we did on checking in. A couple in front of us had declined this but were in restaurant in morning eating cooked items as not at all checked as all self service!! Is a shame that with a little more organisation and a few more staff this could be an absolutely cracking hotel.

The public areas of the hotel are of a high standard. The conservatory and the dining room were excellent. The bedroom was just about acceptable. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and large. The fridge was odd, positioned on its own against a large wall. No pictures on the wall. The bathroom could do with an upgrade, but was acceptable. The gardens need some work. The walk around the Stanton Park Estate and the lake at the bottom of the garden had some lovely walking trails to explore and exercise. On our second night we took the footpath over the fields to the old market town of Highworth and had a meal at The Saracens Head. It was approximately 5km or a one hour walk, one way. We saw lots of wildlife on this walk - deer, owl and a fox.

The room we had you could barely walk around the bed, the shower above the bath wasn't regulated with a thermostatic bath mixer as per water regs so we ended up burning ourselves. The finish to the rooms was of a very low standard, the room looked tired and needs a revamp, you have to pay extra for a cooked breakfast which isnt stated when booking the stay. On a plus side the evening meal was really enjoyable until we received a bill for other peoples drinks, Over priced hotel for the quality you receive won't be staying here again
