Best Hotels near Kempton Park, Sunbury

Over a weekend in late January 2022 my wife and I booked our three grown-up children and our grandchildren (a party of 13 in all) into the Warren Lodge Hotel, Shepperton, arriving on Saturday afternoon and leaving after breakfast on Sunday morning. It was not for any special occasion, just an affordable venue where we could all meet together in convivial surroundings after all the restrictions over Covid. What a delightful and happy experience. The hotel - a quaint, tucked-away, historic riverside inn with good quality modern bedroom accommodation and extensive riverside terraces - was a refreshing example of what hotels should be; neither overly-priced, characterless, pretentious, nor ultra-modern. The staff were as friendly and obliging as one could wish. I could say that nothing was too much to ask, but they went out of their way to see we enjoyed our brief stay. A four-course dinner in a private room on Saturday night was perfect yet breakfast on Sunday morning was unbelievable! No printed menu listing limited options you can have; just 'what would you like?' and everything and every combination of food came out just as ordered. What a stay! I thoroughly recommend the Warren Lodge to those who appreciate good value, good service and friendly accommodation.

There are two reasons for booking this hotel. First, it is close to Heathrow Airport and driving for half an hour. Second, the next morning, I will go to a big junk market next to Amoy. The hotel is in a good environment, just a few steps to the banks of the River Thames, parking is free, the room is quiet, breakfast is good.

We arrived and parking was good and nearby. As a disabled blue badge holder, there was a good amount of disabled bays and it was free when I presented my blue badge at reception. Check in was quick and efficient. Only one of the two lifts was working, but the hotel didn’t seem too busy so this wasn’t a problem. We had a room for 2 adults and a child, so a double bed and a bunk bed. The room was small, but we only needed it to sleep and so it wasn’t a problem. The cleanliness of the room wasn’t good. The floor was so filthy, that we just threw our socks away because of how black they were. The mattress on the single bunk bed was absolutely disgusting. I have attached photos. The sheet was just a piece of material folded in half, and wasn’t tucked in or anything which is how we noticed the dirty mattress. It was late when we noticed it, so I sent photos and an email to reception, who immediately offered us breakfast free of charge. We declined the breakfast as we already had reservations elsewhere, and we saw that breakfast was very poor with little on offer. The manager then replied and refunded our stay and cleaned the room. The management/reception team were lovely and sorted things swiftly. We would stay again and have stayed in many Ibis hotels, but I will be checking the cleanliness of them closely in future.

Absolutely amazing place with wonderful view of city and heathrow airport accessible to the bus metro lines..Rooms were clean and trendy but small with no refrigerator and wardrobe but it's OK for us .had amazing time in the lounge with lots of games .breakfast was very good.there are limited option for food .I would highly recommend this place for stay.love this place and definitely stay there again ..Staffs were friendly and helpful. It was a good hotel with all the amenities in the hotel. The size of the rooms are pretty small but okay for an individual. best part about the hotel was the location, it is very close to Airport ( you can just hop on the london bus ).

The location of the hotel is very convenient. If you take the train to weybridge, there is a bus outside the train station to get to the hotel. If you walk, it is 2.1 kilometers away from the hotel. The dinner in the hotel is very delicious and the breakfast is average. The restaurant service in the hotel is very good. But the front desk service is average; it can be seen that the hotel is renovated and more luxurious, but the room, especially the design of the bathroom, still has certain defects and is not very practical; the surrounding environment of the hotel should be very beautiful in summer. Overall, the hotel is good.

When you say Hilton you ca be sure to have a comfortable stay in there. The location of Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow is suitable and just 6 min drive from terminals 2 and 3. Be careful not to mix the Hilton Garden inn which is directly in the terminal 3. At the hotel spacey parking is available with additional 15£z Beautiful reception with ambiance. Hallways with Hilton style. Room is a bit small but comfortable. Yet the best beds, pillows and duvet for the most cosy sleep are here!!! Shower and tub are available in the room. Breakfast was not available in pit option yet we had the room with a read deal- 2 queen beds with 81£.

Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel. We booked to stay, as we were attending a 60th Birthday party at the Hotel. We booked and paid online so checking was very easy. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very spacious with a large king size bed. Which was extremely comfortable! We were impressed with the newly renovated bathroom, with lovely soft fluffy towels. The room has all the amenities that we needed ie iron, hairdryer and extra pillows. We booked a room with breakfast - which was excellent and was available till 10.30 which was great. A good array of hot food included quality sausages and bacon. All the breakfast staff were very helpful and genuinely cheerful, as were the reception staff and the bar staff and food servers at the evening function. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here 24 August in a family room- booked direct for best rates with breakfast included. The room was great, very large with a extra beds put in for our children, it was very clean, they had The White Company toiletries in a super clean bathroom with fabulous shower. We had drinks in the pub The Swan opposite which overlooks the Thames before dinner. We had dinner at the hotel in the Indian restaurant which whilst quiet the food was fantastic- very tasty- well done chef- and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was a choice of continental and/or full English/Omelettes. A great start to the day of thrills at Thorpe park which is 5 minutes down the road so this is a super location for visiting that. Overall I would recommend this hotel!
